    Oceania has officially cancelled all cruises through July 31st. Hope to see you on a future cruise! Take care and stay healthy.

    I think Singapore Air is only flying out of Sydney now and nothing out of Adelaide, and nothing out of Sydney on the 26th June when we are scheduled.

    Having said that the booking is still current on our account with SIA.

    I have a bad feeling with Hello World who from what I have read in terms and conditions, a non refundable flight stands even though SIA policy seems flexible.

    I have emailed our TA but she won’t be in the office until tomorrow and she probably has a lot more to do before June flight alterations.

    We have a daughter working in Singapore and planned a few nights there prior to Manchester.

    Hindsight is a wonderful thing and we would be very hesitant to book that fare again as well. This did come out of left field.

    Had a reply (by immediate return!) from TA, who said our flight has not yet been cancelled.  I did look in 'Manage my Booking' and saw that the whole booking still appeared to be live, which annoyingly, it is.  She said:

     

    "They are cancelling different regions at different times

    Eg a lot of just return to Asia are now cancelled thru to 30 June

     

    I’ll let you know once we receive yours, - and then what their policy is

    (their updates come daily and change daily also )"

     

    Our flight out of Sydney is SQ242 to Singapore, with a bad transit of about 23 hours to get our  onwards flight to Barcelona (why on earth did we book that!!).  I do know, it was good to fly into BCN to pick up our first cruise, and out of Copenhagen after our last cruise.  Will be much pickier next time (whenever that is), and will never book a non-refundable ticket again.  SQ wanted another $2000 per person for a refundable (with fee) ticket, so we turned it down.  Other airlines have a much better policy and usually, better fares.  Great to realise all of this with hindsight!

     

    Have you contacted your TA?  And can you see your booking still live in 'Manage my Booking'?

     

    So we're still in there with hope, just have to continue watching and waiting.

    Hi Don and Jan

    If you booked through a TA, it all has to be done through him/her,  you can’t contact the airline direct.  I’m going to email our TA tomorrow to say I know flights for June have been cancelled and what next.  Perhaps she has to wait for SQ to contact her, I don’t know.  

    I’ve tried to find info on non refundable tickets in the current situation but haven’t found anything.  SQs website does say they’re giving refunds (and credits), they don’t mention the fare type.

    Our TA is usually very prompt in getting back to us, so as soon as I have any info I’ll post on here.

    Hi Bob and Brenda, just wondering the best way to tackle Singapore Airlines.

    Do we wait until they advise us that the flights have been cancelled (ours are according to their web site) or chase a refund before then.

    From what I am reading on forums, they don’t seem to be handing out refunds to non refundable tickets, referring the ticket back to their terms and conditions.

    Not holding out too much hope with a help from the TA.

    I think they are a lot of hot air!!
