I’ve been unable to get into my rollcall for this cruise due to time constraints and fat fingers, forgetting passwords etc. however, now we’re in Sydney awaiting our embarkation tomorrow and I AM EXCITED.

What’s this I hear about the Maasdam being up for sale?  It certainly makes sense to me, now in hindsight, what a strange and funny itinerary.  Anyways, Winston and myself just want to quietly cruise around the Pacific, not necessarily getting off at any of the ports, especially the measley ones!  And we love the idea of a smaller ship.  We’ve sailed on the Noordam , (Mediterranean east and west)  and Ryndham. (Baltic and St Petersburg) then the Volandam (inside passage ). but the Maasdam will be the smallest.  Looking forward to 34 days of being well looked after xx

I don't know. It's not my tour.  We cab talk about snorkelling on the 4th during the meet and greet if you like.   I think we are planning to go to Matapa Chasm

We have been on the Maasdam since November 11 Th, and will be on her until December 23 Rd. The first time that we were on the Maasdam was in 2011, and have been on her a couple of times since then. The seas have been calm and like a sheet of glass, weather has been hot and sunny every day, and we have enjoyed the ports of call so far on our first leg of our voyage.
As of March 3, 2018 the Maasdam was up for sale for 120,000,000 dollars and the Veendam was up for sale for 140,000,000 dollars. The Maasdam was built in 1993, and the Veendam was built in 1998. We have heard that the Maasdam has been sold but no employee on the ship will confirm this. Unfortunately the days of the small ships are numbered, and the newer larger ships will be the way of the future. We still enjoy the old Maasdam and our days that we have spent on her will soon be just be a memory of the days gone by.
Safe travels to all who are on their way here and will be Embarking on Maasdam on December 3 Rd.
    Bye for now, cheers,
    John and Darlene
