    CruiseRookieStev:

Since you are currently onboard and checking things out!

What is the casino like?  Are there very many slot machines?  Newer types of slot machines?

Does the library have very many books or are the shelves empty?

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide!

Cruise ships to me just capture everything that makes life worth living. They pamper you with the best of music, food, ambiance, destinations, etc. We certainly do quite a bit to help those who life did not treat as well as ourselves, but after 70 years of life it is time to also enjoy ourselves a bit.

As I mentioned before this 6 day cruise is our evaluation cruise to see if we can live on this ship for the 111 day world cruise we have booked for Jan 2021. So far it meets expectations. There are plenty of live music venues every day and evening including jazz and classic rock which we really like. The food is some of the best we've had cruising. If you are into bingo or trivia, etc., there is some but not much of those. But that is OK for us as we are into neither. If you want to tip for anything you have to innovate as they NEVER provide any method to tip; i.e., never a bar slip with a line for "additional tip". Room service is still free and 24/7. They have excellent wine options both by the glass and bottle and prices are very reasonable for good quality wine.

The internet on the Island Princess is a miracle compared to every other cruise I have ever been on! It is super fast. I've uploaded hundreds of MB of photos and videos with no delays or problems and it is only about $10 per day for the best plan you can buy. We've also been download streaming live  radio and TV programs with no problem.
