Welcome Marina and Gennady.  Glad to have you join us.

Thank you for your welcome message. Do you know is it Meet and Mingle on the Princess?

Great info, Alan.  We went to Hakone the first time in October 2 years ago—first snow of the season dusted the mountaintop, wonderful photo from the pirate ship.  We were there again this April—nothing of the mountain to see except clouds.

More suggestions for Gary for Tokyo.  If you are interested in Japanese history, go to the Edo-Tokyo Museum.  You can easily spend half the day there.  It’s near the sumo arena.

In Shinjuku, if the weather is clear, visit the City Municipal Building.  Great views.  If you’re lucky, you can see Mt Fuji from there.  (Best in the morning.). It’s not dissimilar to going up Tokyo Tower but there are no long lines, and it’s free.  There’s a gift shop on the observation floor with items from each prefecture in Japan, a nice overview of the country.

You can also visit nearby Meiji Gardens and Shrine.  Google it for more info.

About 15-20 minutes from there by train is Shibuya.  Visit Shibuya Crossing, the busiest intersection in the world, and if you are familiar with the story of Hachi, take a photo by the Hachi statue.

Osaka diy day trip. Miho Museum.  YouTube to see if you like this. Awesome awesome. I rarely repeat myself. Osaka to Kyoto then local train. Get a taxi and negotiate there and back with wait time. Time is tight and not for the faint of heart. You can see the whole museum in time, however do not dawdle.

Victor, plan on being able to leave the ship 1/2 to 1 hour after docking in each port.  All aboard at the end of the day is generally 1/2 hour prior to departure.  Immigration is required onboard the ship prior to departure for Busan, on the pier in Busan, and upon return to port in Japan (either onboard after docking or on the pier).  If Princess gives you a set time to show up for presenting your passport to the Japanese authorities onboard before disembarking in the port after Busan, ignore the time and just go to the designated location as early as you can.  Guaranteed there will already be a line but it’s best to be able to get as close to the front of the line as possible.  We’ve been able to get through Immigration in as little as 15 minutes and as long as 1-1/2 hours.  It has definitely improved over the past few years.

    Aloha, Marilynn

Thank you so much for the detailed information!

Five Lakes is 5 ponds. 'nuff said. Nature lovers will enjoy the scenery and the hiking. One day is not enough. You can bus around bUt the buses take awhile. Driving is very easy. I do suggest coming back and staying several days. If you grab a taxi.... uh you can afford to put me on your will, BuT you might be broke by the time to collect. Think ice cream here.
