It looks like we are going to reserve a half-day fishing charter in Cozumel on the 2nd. Room for 2 more - any interest?

The note I received yesterday said:

We have also increased secondary health screening requirements. The following guests will need to undergo extra screenings at the cruise terminal:

    • Any guest who has travelled to, from, or through Japan, Singapore, Thailand or Italy (all regions other than Lombardy and Veneto) in the past 15 days.

    • Guests who are uncertain about contact with individuals who have traveled to, from, or through mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Iran, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand or Italy, in the past 15 days.

Guests presenting with fever or low blood oximetry in the specialized health screenings will be denied boarding.

I doubt everyone will be screened, especially for low blood oximetry (blood oxygen level, likely measured by the little finger clip thing that uses light to detect), especially in light of how they describe the extra screenings as specific to travel through various regions.  Although they did say in the same email "Additionally, anyone that feels unwell or demonstrates flu-like symptoms will not be permitted to sail."

What they don't say is how they deal with anyone that has travelled through those regions, or is otherwise denied boarding.  Are you just "stuck" out of luck, or do they issue a refund?  I think that's been half the problem with their noro screening they used to do at the pier... if you don't tell the embarking guests that they get a refund/credit and leave them eating the cost (or dealing with insurance to recoup) who in their right mind would truthfully self identify as part of their public health screening if they (or a family member) were in fact positive for symptoms?  That's an expensive survey to give the "wrong" answer on.

Added in edit: attached a copy of the text of the email as a pdf for reference

You should have received several emails regarding this. I had to confirm I had read the email on who can and who cannot board the ship. They sent an updated email yesterday which basically added some areas of Italy to the list of restricted passengers.

Nobody with a fever or with some blood marker will be allowed.

    Extra cleaning etc.

Yes, I would expect delays in boarding.  We will all have to be patient and know there are drinks waiting for us. 😁

I think they have also updated their website and their phone message.

X has been sending out regular alerts listing the steps they're taking. They are also prohibiting people with China, Hong Kong, etc. Passports. Also some sections of Italy. Check the website for more accurate information. I'll see if I can find a link.

Does anyone know what Celebrity is doing about Coronavirus?  I heard extra cleanings between sailings.  Do you think it will impact embarkation?
