Hi Cheryl and Lee from Delaware. Nice to see some activity pick up for this cruise. My wife and I just returned from a 15 day cruise to Hawaii. I am in recovery mode at the moment. I still haven't booked airfare into Vancouver but will start watching for a direct flight. Last year we managed to book a direct flight from Phoenix into Vancouver. Seems the wife doesn't like jumping from airport to airport..... less hassle. Our main reason for booking a August cruise is the fact that the average temperature in Phoenix is 108 degrees. By the time August rolls around 70 degree weather for a full week should be nice. This itinerary is a good one for a seven day cruise. Looking forward to more activity on this site.

    Cruise Critic Conections Party:

Please register for our group by going to https://www.cruisecritic.com/rollcall/cruiselinel2.cfm?cruiselineid=9 and on the left side of the page, fill out to register.  If 25 people register, we will get the Connections party on board.  I have started looking at other Eclipse Alaska Roll Calls since ours is just taking off.  I hope more people join our discussion soon.  I look forward to meeting all.

Hi, we just booked this cruise.  We are Cheryl and Lee from Delaware.  Our first time to Alaska. We have sailed on Celebrity many times and love it.   I look forward to seeing posts from others with regard to excursions and fun while on board.

Booked this cruise because we liked the itinerary. Have sailed on Celebrity once before and found the cruise line to be above the others. The food was very good and the staff was warm and friendly. We like sailing out of Vancouver where we have enjoyed our hotel stays near the cruise terminal. I probably won't book airfare until after the first of the year when airfares drop to reasonable prices. Last year while in Icy Straights the wife and I had the biggest crab legs we have ever seen. They weren't cheap but had we booked an excursion we would have paid more. I am  calling next years adventure "Crab fest"! since the stops include Juneau and Ketchikan where finding a good crab place to eat is easy. Three years ago while in Ketchikan we did crab fest by way of a float plane. This time we will probably pass on the float plane and take the small dingy down to the old cannery where crab fest is held. I guess my wife and I are lucky since we have pretty well been to most Cities in Alaska including Anchorage and Fairbanks. The one good thing I can say for sailing in Alaska in August is the weather. I suspect we will see very little rain if any. Will take advantage of the weather while in Juneau in order to go out to Mendenhal Glacier. Will attach a picture for those who have not been there.
