Food did not live up to the marketing, ongoing argument during cruise regarding our account spoilt holiday

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Riviera

We chose the cruise due to the marketing around the quality of the food and the emphasis on service. Whilst the food was, in the main adequate to good, it was not the best cuisine. Also, I had the lobster in the Polo Grill and it was inedible ! We had prepaid excursions however, when we got on board, this was disputed by Reception, as was the fact that our package included gratuities. We had ...

This was our second Oceania cruise and our previous experience on a seven-day New York to Bermuda cruise on the Insignia had prepared us for what we viewed as the line's strengths and weaknesses. Its greatest strength is the food, we never had a disappointing meal in any of the venues. Red Ginger was amazing and Jacques was very good. If we had one complaint about the food is that desserts and ...

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Riviera

Been on Oceania before. Like the ads say, it's all about the food. The food was wonderful with the exception of Polo Grill. Service was very slow and two of the 4 steaks served were almost raw. Because it was nearly 10:00 by the time we were served, it was just too late to send them back. Similar experience first night on board in the main dinning room. Just not enough people to serve all the ...

Having cruised with Oceania on a few occasions prior to covid they were 1st class, our latest cruise post covid on Riviera Rome to Trieste April 7 - 14 was certainly not up to the standard we had previously experienced. It would appear that costs are are more concerning to the company than guest experience. Food was good but arrived cool, the Grand Dining room food was obviously kept under heat ...

Refurbished Riviera ship

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Riviera

This was my 4th cruise on the Riviera. I was delighted by the cabin refurbishments. The newly modeled bathroom was perfectly done. I was in a regular veranda stateroom on the 7th floor. Where the bathtub used to be is now a beautiful huge shower. Where the old shower used to be is now 4 huge drawers under a countertop. The bedroom has a ton more storage then it used to have. We actually had ...

Cruise, Onboard vs off

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Riviera

Overall our cruise was great. Entering the port of Miami, it looked hectic but Oceania, the last terminal, was very easy. We brought our 2 kids, they are 23 & 24, and although not a 'kid' cruise they were fine. As advertised, the food was terrific. Even our daughter, who is a Vegan, had plenty to choose from. The portions were the right size enabling us to easily have all the courses. All the ...

We took our first cruise on the Nautica in 2018, and found it to be an elegant and pleasant way to travel. We were looking forward to taking another cruise, but our carefully thought-out plans were delayed for several years, along with everyone else in the world. After several wonderful days at our embarkation port, Lisbon, we were excited to be back on board a ship. Although the Riviera ...

Relaxing trip with a few changes along the way

We booked this cruise as it had been several years since we last visited Europe and we liked this itinerary. This portion of the trip embarked in Rome, we stayed at the W Hotel, a brand new property with excellent and clean accommodations and outstanding service. Would not hesitate to rebook there. We contracted with Rome cabs to transfer us- the dad dropped us off right in front of the ship. ...

We chose this cruise to be with friends, and for the opportunity to visit ports and countries in the Mediterranean for the first time. We boarded in Barcelona, sailed for 17 nights, and disembarked in Malta. We unfortunately caught covid two days before the end of the cruise, and had to quarantine onboard, and for an additional week in Malta. Oceania did not handle this issue completely to our ...

Different than what I expected

All in all Cruise was good as I told the ship staff in a review...the ports were varied and interesting although they changed our debarkation port VERY LATE in the process from Barcelona to Tarragona! Tarragona is far away from Barcelona where we all had our departure flights. The journey to Barcelona the last day was close to 90 minutes, and $$$. The biggest negative in the cruise was in ...
