Oceania? Think again….

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Riviera

Read reviews and think thrice before booking an Oceania cruise. We booked the Goddesses to Gondolas cruise because of the pleasurable experience we previously had on (pre-Covid) Oceania, and we wanted to try out the newly-refurbished Riviera. We booked this cruise more than a year before the sailing because we were told by our travel agent that these cruises sell out fast. If we had the ...

We choose this cruise go to different areas than we normally cruise. We wenton several excursions. They were very pricy and just ok. The room was wonderful. The food at the specality restaurants was not good . The steaks were grey in color and had a bad taste. The same for the lobster. So we ended up eating the rest of the trip in the buffet. It was alot more limited than any cruise i have been ...

Chose Oceania based on numerous recommendations most of which mentioned the "best food on the oceans". Well I can say that either Oceania has regressed significantly or those recommending it have very poor taste---I believe it is the former!!!It was not only the food that disappointed but practically the entire experience starting with: 1)I purchased a special 4 cabin upgrade promotion and ...

Considering the cost of the trip, it was a disappointing rip-off.

We wanted to go on an upscale cruise so we wouldn't be "nickeled and dimed" with everything. Aside from being extremely expensive (with all the add-on's it wound up costing close to $8000 per person and it was definitely NOT worth the price. Let me start at the beginning. We booked a10 day cruise to Turkey and the Greek Islands. Oceania claims that they have the best food of any cruise ...

We are somewhat experience cruisers. A total of 11. We have cruised Norwegian, Rcl, Princess, and Celebrity. Are experience on this cruise was the food was very in the specialty restaurants and the same as our current favorite Princess in the main dining. The entertainment was average. The ship other then our cabin was a little tired and could use a clean up. Ship could not compare to ...

Oceania Riviera vs. The Silversea Experience

When travelers rate a cruise, we can only compare it to others we've been on. For most of us, that means we have a limited perspective from which to judge a cruise, since none of us has traveled on all cruise lines, all ships, or all itineraries. My limitation in this review of Oceania's Riviera July 4 - 12 cruise from Venice to Athens is that all my eight prior cruising experiences have been ...

We chose this cruise to compare to Azamara Club Cruises, another 6-star line. But Azamara wins hands down for the quality of its staff, staff training, cleanliness on the ship, quality of food, etc. Riviera’s design is that it’s cafe is on Deck 14, which looks out onto the pool deck, crescent-shaped, so quite small, whereas the library next door is huge by comparison. The night’s entertainment ...

Not Worth the Cost

We selected the Oceania Riviera Sept 18 - 30, 2017 Barcelona to Venice because of the itinerary and the desire to try another cruise line. We have cruised with Holland America, Celebrity and Viking previously. The draw to Oceania was the supposedly upscale travel and food raves by previous cruisers. It barely lived up to either. The Oceania excursions are expensive and the poorest quality we ...

Just 7 months ago I was on the Riviera and had noticed Oceania had slipped in almost every area since the 4 cruises I had previously with them. But now the Riviera has slipped out of "luxury cruises" into the mainstream. For the same money, I have been far happier in a full suite on Princess. We embarked in Barcelona easily and our concierge level room on deck # 10 was clean all week because ...

We just concluded Oceania's cruise from Venice to Athens on the "Riviera". Among over 1,000 passengers were only 5-6 young ones; the rest were senior citizens in their '70s. There were no poolside (or anywhere else) activities, nothing happening after dinner other than listening to old folks talking about the menu or their retirement. Awfully dull. The menu at the ship's restaurants was fine if ...
