We wanted to see Cuba without experiencing some of the issues with land based hotels. We did end up staying in Melia Cohiba in Havana due to the Cuban government changing our docking from 2 days to 5 hours. The fact that it was a small ship cruising all around the country of Cuba and it was a cultural learning experience appealed to us.
