We were excited to take this cruise because we wanted to visit the Amazon. Additionally friends had told us how wonderful Regent Cruise lines is The shore trips were marginal and poorly executed. The guides were extremely inexperienced and lacked knowledge The best bird sightings were at the zoo in Manaus. Not what we expected. The food was barely average. It lacked creativity and ...

Cheap cruise with poor quality food

Review for a South America Cruise on Costa Fascinosa

The cruise was chosen as part of travel package. I have cruises before, but this was the worst for the following reasons: - Lack of food choices and repetitive. They serve pasta and spaghetti with light sauce, lack of flavouring - Entertainment all in Spanish (good for South American passengers) - Day of departure (must leave room by 8am) - Restaurants- can not chose where to sit and ...

Regent Mariner – Not a Luxury Cruise Experience!

Review for a South America Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

We recently spent 21 nights on Regent Mariner’s Amazon Jungles and Rainforests cruise. Although this was our 20th cruise, it was our first cruise on Regent and probably our last. If you are expecting the luxury cruise experience touted in the Regent Brochure, you may find yourself greatly disappointed. Protect Your Health! – “The Cruise Crud”, as some of my fellow passengers called it, was ...

Not impressed with Regent

This cruise was from Rio de Janeiro to Miami on March 8, 2017 on regent Seven Seas Mariner. This was the worst high end cruise line I have ever experienced. We have been cruising on Seabourn and Crystal for the last 5 years. We decided to try Regent as they had an itinerary that was attractive and we wanted to see how they compared. We liked the all-inclusive fee structure with business ...

Cruise from Hell - Some Things Unavoidable, Others Fault of Princess

Review for a South America Cruise on Crown Princess

As part of my wife’s and my 50th wedding anniversary celebration, we planned a “bucket list” cruise around South America. We planned and reserved the trip in September 2015, while aboard an Alaskan cruise on the Pacific Princess. We sailed on a 14-day cruise on the Crown Princess leaving out of Rio de Janeiro on 04 January 2017, ending up in Valparaiso / Santiago, Chile. The first half of our ...

Great crew, bad food, tiny cabins, mediocre entertainment, unfriendly

Review for a South America Cruise on Ruby Princess

First cruise with Princess, and I was not sure what to expect. My initial impression of the interior design was pleasant. No neon, very classic for the most part. They (and most cruise lines really) cheapen the atmosphere by setting up photo shoots, tables of t shirts and cheap jewelry, and similar up sell stations through out the ship. After my positive initial impression, my feelings dropped. My ...

We have cruised many times before with various companies, including once Costa. We said we would never cruise with Costa again but we were attracted by the intinery so decided to give it another try. What a mistake!! So never again!!!! First impressions were of a beautiful ship which it was to a certain extent, unfortunately some areas were badly planned. The seating in the theatre downstairs was all ...

Just sailed on the Fascinosa from Brazil to Venice. The ship was very impressive and spotlessly clean due to all the staff working so hard and being so caring also very polite. Special thanks to our cabin lad CARL who was so considerate and helpful towards my Wife whilst ill in bed for three days. Now the faults! $22 per day service charge for what, most services were help your self. Cost of ...

OVER-RATED, OVER-PRICED REGENT CRUISE

Review for a South America Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

REGENT CRUISE online ads said "OVER 300 UNLIMITED EXCURSIONS INCLUDED on the $30,000 cruise that my wife and I had paid for Rio to Miami 21 days cruise. Weeks before the start of the cruise, we were wait-listed on about 50% of our excursions that we signed on. In Fortaleza, our first excursion after embarking from Rio de Janeiro, the captain arbitrarily chose not to dock the ship; thus deprived ...

MSC Musica, Rio - Buenos Aires

Review for a South America Cruise on MSC Musica

We decided on this cruise because we have never been to South America. Rio and Buenos Aries were exotic cities that we were interested in seeing. They are both wonderful cities with much to explore. The difficulties started when we arrived at the embarkation port at 1/pm the published time. On most other lines boarding starts perhaps two hours earlier and the flow of passengers is ...
