It wasn't as good as the first cruise we did on Carnival. The cabin was smaller but still OK and nice. We were meant to go to Fiji but didn't get there. The reason was a cyclone. every day the captain changed his mind as to where we were going. Instead of going to the Isle of Pine which was no where near the cyclone, we stopped for the first day in Newcastle. A big disappointment for all. He ...
A lot has been said about Cyclone Pam and Rhapsody's Captain and the fact you cant fight mother nature. Having sailed the cruise with my wife and 4 year old it has to be said that almost all crew where consummate professionals without doubt and it did not matter who it was from bottom to top if you asked about the itinerary you got exactly the same answer from them all. Now I am not going to rip ...
It was my 9th cruise and the second with this line. I must say that I found this cruise far more enjoyable in terms of food quality and staff. I base this on the fact that the formal dining food was edible unlike the one we did from Singapore last year where the food was bland and luke warm at best. We found the choices varied and most of the wait staff very accommodating. We had a couple of ...
So I've been on 8 cruises - 7 with P&O and just got back from my 1st Royal Carribean, Rhapsody of the Seas. I was told that once I had been on a R/C, I would never go with P&O again. Also told that P&O = 2 stars and R/C = 5. I don't agree with either of those opinions. In summary, both lines have pros and cons, I will try to detail below. Basically will consider either, but price will be a ...
Third time aboard Rhapsody, and first since it was refurb'd and the speciality rest'ts added. Loved Giovanni's again, but it would be good to see the menu varied a little.
We loved Rhapsody, and after also sailing on Radiance, we were looking forward to this cruise, and this time a Grand Suite, but we found we'd made a mistake with this selection. Noisy! Not what you'd expect for a premium priced ...
Dinning room service and Room service were Fantastic and a pleasure to deal with.
I have a few gripes with the ship, itinerary and the horrible entertainment with respects to the following:
* Activities are purely dedicated to the Oldies (late 40s and 100). There is absolutely no consideration for the teens and ppl in their 30s. Making this cruise beyond boring for people like me and especially ...
Traveling to Honolulu on the day of departure from Sydney on Ha452 Hawaiian Airlines was good and comfortable and when we arrived in Honolulu picked up our bags and made our way to the Hawaiian Taxi Service which took us to the Pier2 in Oahu we were their in plenty of time.
We came into the Terminal in Oahu we are gold class so we got on board with no trouble at all after that things started to ...
The GOOD:
Ship. Very well appointed, clean and fresh.
Cabin. We had a suite on Deck 8. It was spacious and had everything we needed. Ideal for the two of us.
Food. Generally good, but see below.
Service: Ditto. The Shore Excursions desk staff were knowledgeable and obliging.
Captain: Spent time with passengers and was always upbeat and helpful.
The NOT SO GOOD:
Noise. This was the noisiest ...
Having cruised only with the Disney Cruise Line(DCL), this was uncharted waters for us ( no pun intended) and having flown in from Europe, we looked forward to this change of cruise line. Unfortunately, I spent the first few days doing nothing but compare the two lines.
On the positive side, in RCI favour, their waiting staff( Park Cafe excepted who thought they were a cut above the rest and not ...
Having one of the 5 Owner's Suites, maybe our expectations were too high. The Royal Suite next to us had, for some incredible reason, a player piano in it along with a lot of guests. The first two days, they played the piano at high volume with the balcony door open. My wife couldn't read from her Kindle and I couldn't hear my iPod. My wife took the high road and called Guest Services. The folks ...
