There’s been an overall decline in RCCL service since we started cruising with them almost 2 decades ago. From checkin, to room stewards, to food it’s just not the same. We’ve amassed quite a few points and now have a high loyalty status with RCCL, and that used to be worth something, but now you can buy most of what our two decades of sailing has earned if you buy the “key” program. Our loyalty ...
We decided to take this cruise after spending 4 days in Jerusalem and a trip to the Dead Sea. The old city is very awe inspiring and well worth visiting. The cruise left from Haifa which we reached by train, cheaply and efficiently even though the train was crowded and the ticket system not tourist friendly. We had read the reviews here of the ship so were prepared to be underwhelmed but it’s in ...
The Windjammer was JAMMED with people. The poor staff at the doors were threatening to call security as people pushed passed their roped off doorways. Smokers convene at the entrance to the buffet so it is necessary to pass through a cloud of smoke to enter. Long lines to get on and off the ship, long embarkation process, near the end of which they force passengers through the entire length of a ...
We recently embarked on a cruise departing from Haifa in Israel, expecting an unforgettable experience with Royal Caribbean Cruises. While the journey had its highlights, such as a comfortable junior suite and outstanding service, there were several aspects that left me disappointed and frustrated.
Let's start with the positives. The cabin assigned to us, a junior suite, was nothing short of ...
As a longtime cruiser with Royal with platinum status, I was expecting more of the same from the ship. I was very disappointed with the customer service , maintenance was done only once a day, we couldn’t get fresh towels after room cleaning in the morning, we were not notified that “crew appreciation “ is mandatory, toiletries were not provided, buffet meals hours were shortened, customer ...
My Husband booked this cruise as a surprise 60th Birthday present, and it was far from cheap. We had a balcony cabin which was clean and quite roomy despite the fact that the fridge did not work. Another fridge was delivered after complaining but was in addition to the broken fridge, so was placed under the dressing table leaving no room to push the chair under the dressing table therefore taking ...
We took the cruise from Haifa, Israel to Barcelona, Spain because of the destinations. We got onboard at the port of Haifa. Our cabin was dated and worn. The ship originally set sail in 1997. It doesn't appear that the staterooms have been updated since.
The food in the "sit down" restaurants was terrible. Entries appeared to have been plated well before our arrival. The food arrived at ...
I want to preface my review by stating that we don't care particularly for travel by bus, or "motor coach" as it is cutely described in the fine print. We especially don't like travelling by bus with our 18 month old child.
Well if you pick this cruise, be prepared to travel by bus, a lot.
The Itinerary
Let's start with the obvious - this "Venice" cruise, marketed as starting in Venice ...
I apologize in advance for the length of this review.
We chose this cruise due to the ports of call and based on the past experience we had on a Royal Caribbean Med cruise. Unfortunately, this time paled in comparison to our previous trip. I recognize that this was the first sailing of Rhapsody of the Seas since Covid but being as it was the last ship in the RC fleet to launch, you would have ...
RC once was the premier in cruise lines, from food quality to ship excellence. Rhapsody was without proper maintenance, rust throughout, banisters sadly worn and chipped, paint sloppily administered with many many paint drips on stairways, jogging track and walkways. Lounge areas have many many upholstered chairs worn down to the wood. Embarrassing. 2 star old hotel appearance.
Dining room ...
