We took the cruise from Haifa, Israel to Barcelona, Spain because of the destinations. We got onboard at the port of Haifa. Our cabin was dated and worn. The ship originally set sail in 1997. It doesn't appear that the staterooms have been updated since.
The food in the "sit down" restaurants was terrible. Entries appeared to have been plated well before our arrival. The food arrived at ...
Our family of 7 + 2 (grandparents), Embarked from our home town Limassol, Cyprus for our last full family trip as 4 of my children are graduates this year. The embarkation process was swift and easy. Then to the customer service desk to connect my visa card to the sea pass cards. Tip 1: Use a revolute type card to exchange Euro to USD to save bank and ship charges. Tip 2: virtual cards are not ...
My experience will be unforgettable because it wasn't good at all. Starting from the breakfast,we had to wait about 15 min to enter because there was no table available as they were saying to us but there were many as far as we could saw. We asked for marmalade the 2nd day and they told us was finished ,but the table next to us had. The shows were a disaster. After dinner there was al.ost nothing ...
We felt that the food on this cruise was not up to par. We visited three of the specialty restaurants and decided to not go back to them the following week. In the Wind Jammer many of the hot foods were cold and cold foods were warm. They were often out of ice on both sides. They were often out of certain sodas in the self serve. The ship is older which we understand but the outlets in the cabin ...
I want to preface my review by stating that we don't care particularly for travel by bus, or "motor coach" as it is cutely described in the fine print. We especially don't like travelling by bus with our 18 month old child.
Well if you pick this cruise, be prepared to travel by bus, a lot.
The Itinerary
Let's start with the obvious - this "Venice" cruise, marketed as starting in Venice ...
Food was absolutely dreadful, very poor and not a great selection we honestly struggled even in the buffet. We found the dining room staff were good but the guys seating us were aloof and often sent us to very poorly situated tables such as behind the wait staff table even though throughout the meal there were many tables beautifully situated, it really surprised us. In the buffet we found the ...
We opted for a suite (Deck 8) . What we learned the hard way is that some of those suites (ours) were right underneath the pool deck and Windjammer. THE NOISE coming through our ceiling was loud and very disturbing. The sounds of people walking, running and tables and chairs being dragged, and chopping and banging noise up till 3am. It sounded like we were living underneath a factory.
We paid ...
After researching cruise lines, ships, and itineraries, I chose this cruise as I was traveling with my 20-something daughter and wanted a younger-feeling crowd. In the end, that didn't matter as the only place on the ship where people gathered was the pool and karaoke. Otherwise, the crowd wasn't noticeable and there were just small interactions here & there.
Our stateroom was nice. Yes, it ...
Me and my partner needed something to look forward to when in lockdown during Corona so we booked this trip with many months of waiting until departure. When the date was getting closer Royal Caribbean send much information regarding the safety on board and information about restrictions. It was a bit of a hassle to get the testing done when we arrived in Athens and do it at approved services ...
Royal Caribbean have now introduced a fifty five dollar covid testing for every passenger doing a back to back cruise. Although it had cost us sixty euros for both of us to get a covid test at Rome airport to embark on the cruise in the first place, RCL have now introduced this extortionate charge for passengers doing a back to back cruise (two one week cruises in our case). So please be aware of ...
