Embarkation was efficient, warm & quick. No band playing live when we first got on like other cruises in the past.
I asked if the entertainment director was new since the level of this service seemed to be novice. Many activities dragged on and did not include most of the audience but a few guest only with the majority being forced to be a spectator.
Personal shopping director seemed to ...
So in reading other reviews, it occurs to us that we are not the "typical" cruiser. We have only had one cruise previously (well actually one of us) and it was with Carnival to Mexico. We are mid-forties (traveling sans children), we aren't into shopping, learning about or buying jewelry, gambling or big-time drinking. We do like each other, meeting other interesting people, relaxing, exercising, ...
We just returned from our 7 nights on the Rhapsody. We have done basically the same itinerary to Alaska on Princess, NCL, and now RCI. I decided to try the RCI Rhapsody because everybody seems to be so loyal to RCI. The ship had just been refurbished so I was eager to check it out. We traveled with a 6 year old and an infant.
Pros:
Kids club is superb say hi to "Grandpa" up in in the kid's club. ...

This is cruise #20 or 21 for my wife and I. This time we traveled with two other couples all in our mid fifties. We flew out of Newark New Jersey to Seattle. The flight arrangements were great and the transfer to the ship was very smooth. We were on the ship before noon. Check in was very fast.
The ship was in very good shape. The crew was very friendly and helpful throughout the entire ...
We were on the June 8th-15th cruise to Alaska on the newly renovated Rhapsody of the Seas. This ship was roundtrip from Seattle going to the inside passage (Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria were the ports of call). This review will be a little detailed for the more experienced cruiser. From Seattle to the Inside Passage of Alaska it is magnificent. The snow-capped mountains, the beautiful glaciers, ...
On June 15, 2012, we embarked on the RCCL's Rhapsody of the Seas, a Vision-class vessel accommodating about 2,000 passengers, to sail the Alaskan Inside Passage. We took a taxi from the Hilton Seattle (centrally located/comfortable) to Smith Cove Terminal Pier 91 in Seattle. The 10-minute ride cost $12 plus gratuity.
NOTE: As residents of Las Vegas, we are accustomed to top-tier service in ...
Background: This cruise was for our 10 year anniversary and my wife really wanted to see Alaska. We have sailed multiple times on Royal Caribbean and once on Disney.
We booked our cruise through Royal Caribbean and the whole process was fairly straight forward with no major issues.
Embarkation: We flew into Seattle the day of the cruise and took the paid transfer from the airport to the ...
This was my first cruise. Even though I spent a lot of time on cruisecritic.com. I did not know what to expect. I thought I would leave some observations for other newbies.
It turns out that eating is the main activity on a cruise. On lobster night everyone asked for seconds, and the staff are happy to oblige. If we had trouble deciding on dessert the staff would bring us all of the desserts. ...
I booked this 6 weeks prior to our June 1 departure. It was a 3 year anniversary cruise for my girlfriend and I. Embarkation was very smooth in Seattle. From the airport, we took the shuttle bus (RCCL) for $30 bucks and it was very efficient. Once arrived (we came early at 11:30) the check-in process was easy. I was a gold member, so there was only one person ahead of us. We had pre-printed ...
