Selected this cruise because of promotional brochure indicating interesting ports of call. Promotional material didn't properly identify that many ports on this cruise were for a limited time, less than day, which made the cruise much less enjoyable and disappointing. Wouldn't have taken it if had known this fact. Scheduled for two days in Barcelona and left after first evening. Afternoon or morning on five other destinations. Also not clear on personal touring transportation option which were limited. If you promote a stop/city then don't have transportation for sell guided tours readily available very disappointing. Most excursions were good but a few tried to pack too much activity into too short a time in port. We have done numerous river cruises with Viking and self guided is a big plus. Ship was nice and having taken an Amazon cruise in December we were familiar with the ship offering. Staff was always pleasant and accommodating. New ship so facilities were good. Enjoyed the Restaurant and the World Cafe'. World Cafe' staff was solicitous to passengers compensating for self service format. Had two occasions in Resturant that staff wasn't good and reflected staff either overworked or focused on certain passengers Selection of items was good in the World Cafe'.. We were not fans of the Chiefs Table due to the presentation and selection of menu but that is just a personal choice. Heard lot's of compliments about Chiefs Table from others. Manfradi's was pleasant but often portions were too large. Also some staff more pleasant than others. Again just a personal choice and observation. Service was good so would recommend this to other travelers. Enjoyed Mamsens and Explorer Lounge. Staff was great and environment was great place to meet other travelers. Sorry that this cruise wasn't what we had hoped for. Compared to our Amazon Cruise with Viking, our first Viking Ocean Cruise, this was a disappointment. Undecided on future Ocean cruising with Viking but would recognize that they do a good job on board. Will always consider Viking River Cruising. Read Less

It had the itinerary we were looking for. This would be our 8th cruise with NCL. It was transatlantic and we find the six days at sea very relaxing. Unfortunately on the second day out a virus out break hit and many of the facilitys were closed or restricted. It was kind of a disaster. My wife and I didn't get sick and that was a good thing. Now the two excursions we were looking forward to Dublin Ireland and London England turned out to be a disaster too. In Dublin you tender from the port of Dun Laoghaire, if you see that don't book. Tendering process was terrible. We lost so much time in the process we didn't get what I paid for. In London we were at the port of Tilbury . Same thing terrible process to get off the ship. Wound up with maybe 3hrs. in London but was dropped off far from the main tourist areas. Didn't get what I paid for there. It was a mess ship times changed from what was listed. Now to be fair the excursions at Cork, Ireland Le Havre, France and Bruges,Belgium were great. The dining rooms and specialty restaurants were fine. The cabin was ok and the crew we came across were friendly and helpful and restaurant service was great. For my part this is the second NCL cruise in row were I have left a little disappointed. Ship,difficult,to,find way around as no logical flow Cabin adequate but miss having a balcony.... Freedom dining good in Saffron or Cinnamon and other options good for cover charge - Sindhi -Indian/Thai and The Glass house for seafood.... Entertainment patchy but some excellent - e.g Mark Walker but other options rather lack lustre. Service good generally - excellent cabin steward and spa staff good, as are,bar and restaurant staff... Excursions also patchy but Gaudi tour excellent Staff paid commission only on drinks and disclosure of bullying by member of spa staff, juxtaposed,with huge,price,hikes for 2019, Dumbing down in terms of customers including hogging of sun beds and poor supervision of children -,signage not observed in terms of not jumping in pool,and poor behaviour in dining rooms DOUBT IF WOULD GO AGAIN Read Less

The ship was full, so c. 2000 passengers. I believe there were c. 150 kids on board, but they were almost unnoticeable - must have been kept occupied and away from the bulk of the passengers! Whilst the age range was mixed, I would say typical passenger was in the 60 - 80 age bracket. I am a regular with Royal Caribbean (RCCL) which, whilst not perfect, definitely ticks many of my boxes! We booked on this one at short notice of ony 2 days because the holiday we had been booked to go on was cancelled due to poor weather. Would I holiday with P&O again? On balance, probably not - no major flaws, but I think all the cruise lines have a particular style, cater to a particular audience, and for me that is RCCL rather than P&O. I don’t regret P&O as a last minute choice, however! Pros Great wine at reasonable price. Coke in bottles for £2.75. Champagne £7.75. They even had Cloudy Bay Sauvignon in the main dining rooms! Heinz ketchup/salad cream, Marmite, Kelloggs cereals in buffet - excellent. Magnums and Judes icecream on sale by pools - fab. Afternoon tea was excellent (but I prefer personal teapot, rather than long-stewed version served to all). Freshly made cakes and scones - it would be rude not to try them all!... Teacakes, crumpets and a hot savoury (e.g. sausage rolls) always on offer with afternoon tea. Real cream in all desserts - RCCL use artificial cream, which is horrid, so top marks to P&O. Minimal announcements to disturb the peace (unlike RCCL, who have lots, and repeat each one in several different languages) The organisation was excellent - for example, the process for leaving the ship and transfer to airport. Incredibly slick & easy, given they had 2k passengers to handle (including this one, who left her iPhone on the transfer coach. Staff were so kind, and went off to find it for me.) Cons Signs encouraged you to open doors to toilets in public areas with tissue - but usually no bins around to put tissues in! I don’t think I saw any staff cleaning the public toilets in the whole 10 day period - can’t get away from them on RCCL cruises! And they seemed to regularly be “out of service”. No crispy bacon at breakfast - stewed, with lots of white “stuff” oozing out. Only skimmed milk for breakfast - tasteless. Why no choice? Tours were expensive and not a great experience for me. I went on one that was 5 hours in all, and was squashed on the back seat, in the corner on a 53 seat bus - I couldn’t see anything at all! The tours were very much token “sightseeing” of key things - in a group of up to 53 it is almost impossible to hear what is being said by the tour guide, and the group can only go at the pace of the slowest person (usually with a walking stick) after long toilet breaks. Highly frustrating and unsatisfying. I cancelled the last two I had booked. I would have liked the option of more things to do and be active with e.g. Segway, things that kids would enjoy. Food in the main dining rooms was OK in quality, and I think catered for the tastes of a retired British population. Lots of very old-fashioned British options (e.g. collar of bacon, steak & kidney pudding). Food in the buffet was good, and was themed each evening. Lots of fresh salads, with a wide choice of dressings. I loved the cous-cous. I suspect many of the sauces (e.g. curry variants) were pre-made, jar versions - gloopy with thickener, inauthentic flavours. Edible, though. Daily roast was probably the best option. The entertainment was... uninspiring. The entertainment team didn’t even seem to enjoy it much themselves! We did a picture quiz one night (name the book/album cover) - they whizzed through it so fast, didn’t revisit questions at the end. Seemed keen to get it over and done with. I did bingo a couple of times - minimal explanation, very functional. Assumption was that the audience was regulars... which they probably were! It is much more of an “event” on RCCL ships - I positively look forward to it as a highlight (have “the t-shirt” and branded seal...), even though it is more expensive! The music and shows did nothing for us at all - although we enjoyed Manuel Martinez, the mildly abusive magician! They showed films once or twice a day - would have been good to have had some of them shown more than once. If you were off on a trip and it was during the day, you missed it. Staff in public areas were excellent - we had a “base” in the main atrium, and the staff quickly recognised us, what we drank and how we liked our drinks. Always lovely to be welcomed with a smile by someone who knows your name. I spent quite a lot of time in the Spa having treatments. If you enjoy massage etc worth looking out for their “offer of the day” - typically c. 1 hour for around £70. Great value - especially as their routine treatments are usually £100+. You can book the “offer of the day” for the next day from the previous evening. Didn’t use the gym, sauna or steam room. Didn’t use the shops - extensive range of jewellery, and quite a good range of clothes, snacks etc. But I’m not on a cruise ship to shop! The above are all personal niggles, and I’ve tried to be fair and point out where they really did deliver. Oceana provided exactly what they promised, the issue is that it wasn’t really what I wanted. But that’s not their fault. It was amazing value @ £960 per person for a balcony cabin, including return flight home and £110 each room credit, for 10 days). I wouldn’t go again by choice for me, but I can think of people I know to whom I would absolutely recommend a P&O cruise. Read Less

My husband had some medical treatment so thought it would be good for him to recouperate so booked on Black Friday. Unfortunately on11 April he had another operation and although able to travel was not well enough to get off the ship. Room excellent (same as Azura). Cabin Steward good except for one mistake. Food good for us although some people did not agree. Found it better than P & O. Had not been on Princess line for some time. Entertainment generally good although too many tribute artists who were not that good. Some acts excellent. Do not like the Outdoor film area particularly April/May from UK to Med. Weather inappropriate although some people were in the rain and with rugs around them. Crazy. Not comfortable seating areas around pool all jammed together with the usual early morning pegs and towels and bags but no passengers. Staff did not stick to the notice that after a certain period of time if no passenger items would be removed to give people a chance to sit out. Atrium entertainment extremely noisy around a lot of the floors of the ship and could not hear the reception area people because of the noise. Reception Staff. Some not helpful with a slight attitude problem others excellent. More training needed. If they did not know an answer they should say they do not know but will find out and leave a message on the room phone. First morning for breakfast in restaurant there was chaos with staff who may have just got on the ship. Took about 1.5 hours to get served and then it was incorrect. Maitre D' called too room numbers but nothing actually done. They must have thought it would keep us quiet. Restaurant service sometimes very slow so missed show. Shuttle Bus services: not as good as other shipping lines when docked in port areas where passengers not allowed to walk to gate. Usually provided by dock authorities but at Marseilles Princess own but charge $14 return to old port which was excessive for a relatively short ride. Many people very angry that they did not tell passengers of free port shuttle a few hundred yards from the ship. This did not go in as far as Princess one but options should have been given. Had some difficulty with some services and became irate so saw a "sensible" receptionist who said we could reduce the gratuities which we did. Generally found ship a bit too large for our preference. Disembarkation: 1.5 hrs late because of delay due to bad weather but went fairly well. Would probably try another cruise now that we know how they operate and learned a lot from passengers waiting to leave the ship a bit late but knowledge for later. Read Less

We chose this ship because it was calling at ports that we had not visited before. The ship is tired and is really ready for it's refit at the end of the year. It was cold on board and people complained to reception. In the evening the selection of food in the Plaza buffet was not very extensive and also lacked variety, however, the staff were excellent, we couldn't fault them. If, like me you are disabled and cannot get up and down stairs then this is not the ship for you because, if any of the ports on your cruise are tendered you will not be able to get to the tender platform. I was told there was not a lift that would take me from deck 4 down to deck 3 to get to the tender, so I was unable to go ashore. This is the only ship that I have encountered this problem . As this was our first cruise on Oceana, we gave them the information needed regarding my disability and needs when we booked but no-one advised me regarding the tendering situation of this ship. We are having to cancel another cruise booked on this ship in August/September because of this problem. Disembarking was excellent and the accessible shuttle buses were brilliant. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the ports that it was visiting during it's repositioning. Dining room & buffet food was average though they charge extra for steak and lobster. Other cruises we have been on usually offer them at least once during your cruise at no extra cost. Specialty restaurants were good but some items on the menu were the same thing that you could get in the buffet or dining rooms at no charge? We enjoyed the 24 hour pub the most. Didn't feel like you were on a ship. I must say that the staff was the most friendly that we have ever had on a cruise. In the last 2 ports we were given hand outs with port information. I'm not sure why this wasn't available for all ports. This was our first time with Norwegian. Overall we were very happy with the cruise. We would certainly consider another sailing with them. Some background before I write this review - we have taken numerous cruises on all levels of ships around the world (small, medium, large, riverboats, etc.) so we have a lot of reference points on what we like and expect as a function of the price point and the specifics of what the cruise line advertises and offers as compared to their competitors. Having recently traveled on Viking (river cruise in China which we absolutely loved!), we wanted to try another ship with a small number of passengers. After a thorough search, we decided to give Windstar (and the Star Legend) our business - per their advertisement - "fully refurbished boat, approximately 200 passengers, gourmet food and wine, world class gym, elegant staterooms and unique and memorable shore excursions'. So let's discuss what was accurate and what was off the mark - the pro's - very spacious stateroom, cabin attendant was excellent, on-board entertainment was very enjoyable, Candles dinning was great, majority of crew worked very hard to make the trip memorable, and select staff management (Elena and Bianca) worked very hard to listen to our concerns and to the extent practical within their control make our travels and pleasant as possible, and the people were so much fun to meet. The cons - (1) for a refurbished ship, the interior was in dire need of a fresh paint and varnish (age of the ship was not well hidden), the bathroom was not updated - pealing paint and wall tiles in shower were old and separating), (2) wine - not paired with dinner or the countries visited, wine tastings were poorly planned and executed (rushed so the room could be turned over for dinner, no wait staff to serve additional portions to the customers, and wine selections ran out during dinner, "wine expert" was not organized and could not keep the attention of the customers) - we stopped going after day four, quality of wines served were average to below average at best and had low Wine Spectator ratings, (3) on-board dinning service - very dis-jointed for the first three days - meals were late (i.e. not everyone was served at the same time), side dished were missing or wrong, and if you ordered fish it was guaranteed to arrive overcooked and dry, (4) food quality - got better as the days went by but serving three shrimps on top of rice is not gourmet, (5) bar service - with the exception of a few bar staff, very inconsistent service for mixed drinks - long wait (10 minutes), wrong order, glass half-filled - deferred to wine and beer to avoid the the hassle which was not our preference, (6) broken water system during seal day - no showers or running water - things happen at sea so my issue is not that this happened but how the ship handled the situation - the captain made an announcement at approximately 9 am and mentioned that the water system broke and we would make a stop at Brest for repairs - not apologetic in any form and tried to make a joke about it - not funny for the guests who were stuck on board without a bathroom or shower - in terms of compensation - NONE...we asked them to open the bar and provide free drinks and were denied....the system was repaired and then broke again around 10 pm (no notice from the captain) - I called the front desk and the staffer did not understand why I was mad as he did not get a chance to shower (paying customer versus employee....where is the training...), (7) off-board dinner in Bordeaux - very elegant, classical music, wine in the courtyard and then dinner - only one selection - a meat dish that was served raw to myself and three others at our table - after 15 minutes and sending it back twice I decided not to eat the dried out mass in front of me. Two wines were served of which one was a beautiful 2001 Margaux - we each had one glass and asked for another bottle - they "ran out" even then we observed other tables actively getting additional bottles, (8) world class gym - broken equipment and missing weights - need I say more, (9) excursions - unlike Viking or other high end cruise lines, Windstar only includes two free shore excursions and the guests have to pay for any other trips so desired - the selections were marginal at best with the most notable being a wine tour of a local vineyard in the Medoc region of Bordeaux - expected elegant wines and encountered less than marginal samples - would have expected a higher quality vineyard to be made available. We did email Hans (CEO) a note summarizing our experiences and have not received any reply as of this review - not terribly surprised since he already has our money and from the experiences listed above, apparently does not have a keen focus on customer service. Some final thoughts and impressions - we probably wont use this cruise line again unless Han's contacts us and don't recommend anyone else using them unless you do a full due-diligence on all high end cruise and read the review, the ship management fell flat on attention to details and building/maintaining a strong and consistent team to perform and execute their respective duties flawlessly every time, and if you are going to offer a marginal experience then charge a marginal price so expectations can be tempered with reality. We are from Germany and this was our 17th cruise, most on Royal Caribbean ships a few on Celebrity. So we are Diamond Club members. We travelled together with some friends (they are Diamond Plus) We had balcony cabins on deck 7 Midship. Our intension was to visit New York and explore the new “Smartship” on a relaxing Transatlantic Cruise. Embarkation was easy! Probably the fastest process ever. It took about 10-15 Minutes from the terminal to the Pool-Deck. But we were early. The Terminal was empty. And I don´t know what happens if there are hundreds of people arriving at a time. Because the procedure itself seemed more or less the same as before. Only difference: Now the handle it with a tablet, before they have counters. To be honest, it´s more cost saving than improving something… The Quantum is a beautiful ship. The style is extremely modern, a bit like Celebrities Solstice Class. But as always, style pays the bill against functionality! For example, they don´t have a promenade deck to stroll around the ship or to use a lounge chair. Only very small areas on the deck ….. And also there are no upper levels for sunbathing and to escape the crowd like on the Radiance-, Vovager- or Freedom Class Ships. Food: The food was really good in all complementary restaurants. Not as on Celebrity ships but very good. Depending on your personal preferences you can pick the style of the restaurant and the food. Service was in most cases fast and attentive. One night we tried Jamies Italien because we saw all the positive reviews. This was a huge disappointment! We had antipasti and bread to share (4 people) Nothing special. No oil, no balsamic vinegar average quality overall. The main course was better every night in the complementary restaurants and the dessert was ok. But definately not worth to pay extra! Cabin: Awesome stateroom. Spacious and very modern. We never had so much space in the wardrobe. Good for 4 suitcases. Nice balcony with good lounge chairs. The shower was even better than Aqua Class on Celebrity. The TV program was a joke! Every day the same main channels, no Movies to select without charge. Great to be on a smart ship! Service: It was the repositioning cruise from USA to China. So lot´s of the staff was from China. But they did a quite good job. Nothing to complain. The service in the restaurants (except Jamies) was as usually good, they had waiters and assistant waiters every night and also for lunch in American icon. Our room attendant did a ok job, not extraordinary but good. Entertainment: Here we have a kind of a black and white… Mama Mia was amazing, just like the Broadway show. Starwater in the 270 (which is a stunning location) was boring and even the technical features were not spectacular! We went to Sonic Odyssey only for 10 Minutes, again, average. Nothing compared to the shows on the Oasis! The other things like Bumper Cars, Northstar, and IFly are quite cool, but is it really a must have feature I am looking forward for every cruise??? I think it is a nice to have, not more! Internet was slow as on every ship! They explained me, that the satellites are not ready yet for the “Transatlantic- or European Market”. Well, in that case I wouldn´t promote this! And charge 30,-! Dollar per day. Especially when the regular prices in the Caribbean is only 15,-! This was a rip off! Customer Service: Well, we were from Germany (together with 300 other people). And there were also a lot of other Europeans. But they did nothing to make the “daily business” easier for them. NO German menus, NO German announcements, a ridiculous bad translated cruise compass. The Guest service manager told us that there is no need, when the ratio is below 10%. Hard to understand, this was the first time. And again, this is a “Smart-Ship”... To draw up a summary, not our No. 1 ship. Nice to see once, maybe twice, but we prefer the “traditional-cruising”. In fact, we would prefer the Oasis-Class always compared to the Quantum. And of course all the other ships in the fleet. Read Less

This was my second cruise with Princess and my second Transatlantic cruise. The Regal is a beautiful ship but the way it is designed is loud and most public places very crowded. I had a mid-ship balcony stateroom and very happy with the location. Room adequate but the balcony very small only room for 2. Loved being close to the elevators however, always crowded and had to wait. No stairs mid-ship which caused congestion in the elevators. The Atrium/Plaza area had something going on from 9am until late at night. Forget a quiet time to drink your morning coffee or just relax around the beautiful area as exercise classes were held in this location as well as line dancing classes and ball room lessons. Sometimes a band would be playing, they were very good, but very loud. This brings up the problem that a lot of passengers spoke to when we exchanged thoughts on the ship, no quiet place or little tucked away corner to sit and read. Due to the weather not able to use the top half of the ship. No retractable roof over the pool which left that area useless. a huge wasted space which put all 3800 plus passengers in the same areas inside the ship. The only quiet place was to stay in our own stateroom. Entertainment - if you did not arrive at least 30 minutes before the show more than likely no seats were left. The Shore excursions were very good and Princess did a great job of organizing and getting us onto the buses in an orderly fashion. The food was very good both in the dining room and in the Horizon on top deck. We ate half of our dinners in the Horizon and very satisfied with what was offered. I cannot say enough about how good the crew was on this ship. They were all fantastic ready to help with a smile and very professional and courteous. This was not a good ship for a transatlantic cruise, would not pick this big of a ship again for any cruise. To many people and the ship is just to big ship. Everything else on the ship is smaller to accommodate for staterooms. Maybe 10 people can get in the library and the internet room had only 13 computers. Public restrooms very small and narrow. This was our fourth transatlantic – the other three have all been with celebrity and all on solstice class ships. In fact, all of our previous cruises have been with celebrity on solstice class ships so this was our first experience of one of the older ships. We weren't sure what to expect, but felt confident that given the number of positive reviews we'd read – celebrity constellation wasn't going to disappoint us and... (I'll cut to the chase here) it didn't really disappoint is, but I have to say we simply don't think it's quite as good as the solstice class ships – possibly that was just our experience on this cruise? I've put further details below and leave you the reader to decide. We spent a few days in Ft. Lauderdale and really enjoyed them, what a lovely place, the water taxi right being something of a highlight! Boarding.. was pretty much pain free – is it only me that gets really stressed leaving my suitcases with a complete stranger at the terminal?? – I have a recurring fear the cases simply won't get there, consequently I also make sure I tip the baggage guy (which for a Brit is a pretty stressful experience because we simply don't know how much to tip whether we should tip at all) .. anyway the bags arrived .. one was delayed because it contained a few bottles of tonic water – apparently Now – this was one thing we got wrong, recognising that many people board early, to enjoy the ships facilities, we boarded at about 1 PM, consequently the room wasn't ready ... not a problem, we headed bistro on five (one of our favourites) .. unfortunately, it seemed everyone else had, so there wasn't a table available. a glass of wine in the cellar Masters calmed us down a little .. and soon a table was ready – no sooner had we sat down than the announcement came that the rooms were ready ( our timing on this occasion was definitely off) .. we finished our meal and headed off to the room .. aqua class cabin number 9080 pounds – I think all in all it was very good in fact – possibly the only aspect of the ship that was "slightly better" than solstice class .. a better wardrobe, and proper bedside tables .. were a definite plus. Unfortunately the flatscreen TV and interactive television is a definite disappointment - there were NO free on demand movies - this might seem like any minor gripe, but we've really enjoyed (on the solstice class ships)the ability to watch fairly new films using the pay-per-view system – you can start stop pause rewind re-watch – altogether absolutely excellent – this in turn is usually motivated us to buy one of the other movies.. unfortunately – there were only movies to buy – there were movies on the remaining channels (probably on a continuous loop) but there was no real way to see which movie was on and what time it would be starting – plus as we crossed the Atlantic the channels faded in and out with new ones coming in, and other ones dropping out. - This was a definite negative.. Also – I have to say that the present Mrs barnos was disappointed with the general standard of cleanliness and quality and state of repair of certain aspects of the cabin. In particular, there were holes in the sheets! and she felt that the sofa was little drab.. Further gripe – evening including Captains club Internet minutes I still ended up purchasing a couple of extra bundles – largely because the connection was so unbelievably slow. Bearing in mind I've travelled transatlantic with celebrity before – so I know the connection might not be brilliant but (presumably due to the age of the ship?) The connection was frankly awful and they shouldn't charge for it – it's that bad ... incidentally a warning to any UK customers who use the mobile service provider EE .. apparently although they are just about the biggest in the UK at the moment, there are the only mobile service provider that doesn't connect to celebrities cellular at sea type mobile service .. so apart from poor Internet, I also had two weeks of no mobile.. thankfully my better half's T mobile connection worked fine! I'm going to edit the comments down here and try and be as concise as possible. yes, it's still a nice ship, in general the staff were excellent, the weather was exceptionally kind to us and the captain deserves a special mention. Capt Nicholas I think. I've never seen a captain so "visible", interesting uncommunicative morning announcements, taking great care to Advise us about the weather (surely that's the only thing that is of real interest on a transatlantic crossing). visible about the ship and very friendly and personable – I suggest this guy is heading for the top! Now the down side or negative points. Our principal reason for continuing to choose celebrity probably the quality of the food.. and the food here – including our favourite restaurant Blu .. was good but by no means exceptional, and on some occasions disappointing. Blu was still good – enjoyable and I would certainly choose to travel Aqua class for this reason alone. However, after a few days the "imagination" or creativity seemed to fade and many of the course choices seemed predictable. On a couple of occasions we were told by the waiting staff not to have a particular course as it was dry/disappointing or whatever .. I think there is a problem with the distance between this restaurant in the kitchen (we were told its three decks away) The Oceanview cafe was disappointing. firstly, I was extremely surprised to find that whenever we seem to turn up for a late lunch or late breakfast there were large sections closed or in evident transition – plus the choices were simply not very good. When compared to the Oceanview cafe on the solstice class ships, 9Hardly ever closed and usually spoiled for choice at every occasion). We didn't eat in the MDR .. other than afternoon tea for Captains club elite .. okay personal gripe here .. forgive me, we love travelling to America and generally love all aspects of American service BUT there is only one thing that is important when making tea – is that the water MUST be scalding hot at the moment it hits the tea ... don't worry about milk first/ water first – just simply pour boiling water on tea leaves .. it's really that simple. Unfortunately, as often happens, afternoon tea covered every single conceivable angle except failing on the only aspect that is essential (that's the scalding hot water hitting the tea part) .. if you don't get that right, there's no point in offering a huge range of fancy sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, 10 or 20 choices of tea just make sure that Boiling hot water – hits tea... if you don't get that then please don't bother .. sorry, rant over. We dined in ocean liners on a couple of occasions.. and I'm afraid the levels discussed above were just about the same, okay but not exceptional.. My biggest gripe and general disappointment with Celebrity comes at the end – landing in Rome and returning to the UK, the only flight leaving on the day we arrived was at 10:40 AM from Ciampino airport, which is Rome's second airport. Regrettably, celebrity seemed only interested in offering assistance/transport to Rome's main airport Fiumicino. I approached the guest relations desk several days before we arrived in Rome, and was more or less told that I was "on my own" I had to press them really hard to ask if they could help me organise a taxi or private transfer and I was completely stunned to be told that they could at a cost of €240. I told them I felt sure that the taxi should not be that expensive.. the NOT very helpful lady insisted that they could only use their "port agent" and that's what he'd quoted. It took me 60 seconds to Google " airport transfers Rome" and get a quote for €119. The service was excellent, we were met almost as soon as we left the ship, pleasant taxidriver, smooth ride, generally better service than any we've experienced before (when booking with celebrity). So come on celebrity put the extra effort in having taken our leisure dollars of us and help us end our holidays conveniently! ... I'm sure we'll be back to travel with celebrity again, but, the few disappointments here will make sure that I keep my "eyes open" from alternative cruise lines .. I'm sure there are plenty out there. I have completed my post-cruise survey and asks celebrity to contact me about my specific disappointments... but, I'm not surprised to have not had any contact from them yet. Happy cruising Read Less
