We have always cruised the larger lines, Disney, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity. The Grandeur was our first premium luxury, smaller ship cruise and since the ship is new, this was only the 10th voyage it has made. It is more expensive, but the experience is worth it.

Seven Seas Splendor is a newer ship with a lot of good facilities, food and staff, however the destination services staff had a lot of issues on our cruise. First, they had no personality and when you went to their desk they gave the attitude they could care less. We are Platinum members and have enjoyed all the Regent ships. Our first impression of the Grandeur is WOW!

We have long wanted to transit the Panama Canal and the start of Regent's latest grand dame's career was the ideal opportunity. We left a wet and cold UK to find much the same in LA. We were on Splendour in July so the beauty of the ship was not a huge surprise. But Regent have managed to raise the bar again & not just with the beautiful Faberge egg on display.

We chose this cruise for several reasons. The Panama Canal crossing was of interest as was the embarkation city of Miami. Embarkation was seamless and disembarkation was also complaint free. By the time the cruise started we lost 4 ports and ended up with an extra night in Los Angeles and a trip to Puerto Vallarta. Chosen for its itinerary but the regent excursions were disappointing. Most were your buses with local people. Some really boring stuff and very touristy spots. Given this is east coast of canada I was astonished that there was nothing that showcased the stunning beauty of this coastline. No opportunity to see wildlife or see seabirds or whales. We boarded in Barcelona for a Transatlantic cruise to New York before continuing to Montreal. Although comfortable the ship is looking its age with a surprising amount of silicone apparent in the cabin, and once you see that your eye is of course drawn to other deficiencies, of which there are many.
