We purchased a cruise package that included flights, 3 days pre-cruise stay in Cape Town then a cruise to Rio stopping at Luderitz and Walvis Bay in Namibia followed by St Helena before ending with a day in Rio. The outbound BA flights were fine. The hotel (Cullinan) in Cape Town was good apart from the dinner on the second night which was below par. All the excursions were excellent, well ...

Seasoned Oceania cruisers try out Regent. How did it go? It was an adventure. We are seasoned Oceania cruisers, and seasoned transatlantic cruisers. We booked our own flights and took the transfer from the airport to the Southern Sun and joined the 4 day/3 night precruise. The hotel is fine, in a great location, and the staff could not be nicer. The precruise tour was exceptional, our ...

Just not good enough

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

We chose this cruise to experience Regent for the first time. We have cruised quite a bit with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Crystal (before it failed). We thought we would get excellence and we’re so disappointed about so many things. We love good food but found it hard to get a good meal on this cruise. We were forced to eat earlier than we usually do for dinner to avoid a 30 minute wait for a ...

Crew is the only thing that keeps this ship alive!

I will start my review by saying my wife and I are 60, a little plus and minus. We have been on about 30 cruises with most of our time spent on Celebrity ships. Except for the Paul Gauguin, this was our first entry in what I expected to be the high-end cruise market. I have to start by giving the crew of this ship the highest possible praise. Not sure how Regent makes it happen, but I believe ...

We are on a cruise from New York to Iceland and we picked the cruise for its destinations. The ship is old and is poorly maintained; lots of rust, scuff marks, stained carpets, faded wood on the decks. The vibration in the cabins is constant and unbelievable like sleeping on top of a freight train. The food is on par with Hometown buffet.Ar breakfast the hot foods were covered in grease. No fresh ...

We are long time Regent customers but had not sailed with Regent for two years account a previous problem. In the interim, we sailed with luxury lines, Crystal, Seabourn and Oceania. We chose the transatlantic crossing to try the new (for us) Explorer and because of the price. We also love going to Bermuda. We had an overnight in Bermuda where I chose to wear formal Bermuda attire, of coat, ...

Poor suite finish and poor customer relations

This was a disappointment made less pleasant by negative customer relations attitude. To put into perspective we are regular Regent cruisers in recent years (having also used Seabourn and Silversea), and indeed have a further cruise booked with Regent in 2017 on Voyager. Overnight in Rome was in a good hotel to which we would return - the Westin Excelsior. Well positioned too. Regent agent ...

Is Regent lowering its standards?

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

Our ninth cruise on Regent and by far our most disappointing trip. When you charge a premium and advertise a 6 star experience your expectations are high and unfortunately where not met on this cruise. Each cruise has a port that you really look forward to visit and on this trip it was Gibraltar with really good shore excursions being offered. So imagine our disappointment when our stop was ...

Our flight to Lisbon on TAP from Ft. Lauderdale to Lisbon was good with the exception of arriving about 5:30 a.m. Fortunately we had made our own hotel arrangements and they accomodated us and let us check in at a very early hour. Before I go any further I must say that I have given much thought to writing a negative review about Regent since we are gold members. We have been on many cruises on ...
