Great staff, ambiance not good

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

All staff were very friendly. What is not good? Almost zero outdoor, pool deck activity! Only once every two weeks some food or live music on the pool deck. No music anywhere when the show is on. Some harbors bad stops such as in Java. Excursion some ok, some just hours of bus drives. Worst: Horrible wifi! If you are not retired and need to work some online: Do not use Regent! They advertise ...

Lovely cruise but entertainment was poor

Beautiful ship with lovely staff and excellent food but the entertainment fell short of what we’ve experienced with Regent on past cruises. Constant changes to the entertainment programme. They repeated performances and also made numerous cancellations. This was a 17 day cruise with no deck parties and there appeared to be a lack of direction from the cruise director and his wife. The ...

Mariner is not in good shape - needs an overhaul big time!

Dining rooms had repetitive menus for five months, the two specialty restaurants Prime 7 & Chartreuse never changed the menus. All dining rooms were chronically understaffed which meant long waits for food to be taken and then dishes cleared. Newly hired staff had little to no idea of what exactly they were responsible for - we repeatedly waved down staff for a refill of water and wine with our ...

A slap in the face!

The Viking ad is correct. What there is not enough of is time. We booked the extended Regent cruise from Singapore to Auckland. Australia had several stops. Most of which were kept. New Zealand in 2018 passes a requirement for all ships entering their waters to have their hulls cleaned prior to doing so. Yet Regent never could arrange for it. Upon being noticed that the Seven Seas was barred ...

the good and bad points of Regent

This was our third RSSC cruise. Second time on the Mariner. The remaining cruise on Voyager. With the new controls on cruising we doubt that we will do a cruise again. So, having reflected, what have we learned? 1) Our first two cruises were with a concierge cabin. The third time was a penthouse suite. A huge difference that we really enjoyed. 2) its important to understand that pre and post ...

Disappointed from Day One

We retired in the last year. This was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime - 2 months! Okay, we get it...the corona virus messed things up....but we knew something was wrong the first day. The daily errors got to be a joke. How many times can you get a breakfast room service order wrong? They actually gave us our money back when one of the paid shore excursions was so bad, it wouldn't have ...

Disaster

Regent, “an unrivaled experience” is one I have no intention of replicating. Here is a rundown: 1. Arrival at airport was disorganized. After waiting about 15 minutes in airport we waited about another 45 minutes at the curb. 2. Next morning at hotel, breakfast ended at nine am with checkout at noon then a wait of a further hour+ before bus to port. On the way to port the bus driver kept ...

Ports of call were good - not excellent! Why stop at locations that have nothing to offer? An example woud be Hilo, Hawaii. The destination personnel were not well trained. Priority guests were not treated like priorities! In most situations - waitlist was an imaginary item. Basically I would say the ship personnel were very friendly and dedicated employees. Upper management needs to ...

Review for a South America Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

Have gone on a Regent Cruise many times. This is the first time we neither enjoyed the ship or the destinations. Our South American cruise highlighted the Galapagos and Machu Picchu, however they were not a part of our sites. Machu Picchu was a post 18 day cruise destination which was not clear in the marketing. There was one excellent lecturer on board, but very few daytime activities that were ...
