This was my first Regent cruise. It was chosen for its itinerary and except for one stop, it was wonderful.
PROS:
Smaller ship means smaller number of passengers, easier to maneuver on board.
Crew was exceptional. Everyone, from tender attendants to officers were pleasant and engaged with the guests. They truly made you feel welcomed and special.
The 24 day trip allowed you to ...
November 25,2018 to the Amazon Very enjoyable, but would not say that the Amazon is interesting.Just another muddy river with very little of interest.
In spite of this, the cruise and ports in the caribbean are OK. Ship nice, very clean and welcoming.. We are not entertainment or late night types so the quality of show is not applicable to us.o us.
The only short coming is the PRIME 7 ...
We had booked a suite high and forward to limit the effects of the vibrations, i was surprised, not bad at all.
The ship is smaller so it took me a while to get adjusted to the ceiling height and general smallness of the ship, it needs refreshing and i heard it was due in the near future.
The smaller ship gives you a more intimacy feeling.
The stewardess were as usual amazing , always ...
We have noticed a change in the amenities since Norwegian took them over. Not as much luxury and we saw some skimping.
The entertainment was repetitive - piano player ,guitar piano player, guitar. We stopped going to the shows.
The restaurant service was okay but the lunch menu was cream soup daily.
The lecturer had political opinions and didn't hesitate to state them. For one of ...
CARIBBEAN AND AMAZON ADVENTURE
Seven Seas Navigator
May 23-June 17, 2017
This cruise was Miami round-trip down the Amazon River to Manaus and back. It lasted 26 days and the ship was sold out months in advance. There were ten sea days necessitated by the long distances to be covered. The cruise is often offered twice a year and we opted for the May (versus November) trip because it ...
Regent offered the best itinerary and time of the Amazon River...hence we booked it!
A careful evaluation on our return home leaves me with the following comments:
The best..."all-inclusive" means just that...you pay for nothing - wifi, shore excursions, specialty restaurants, booze, friendliness of the crew, gratuities...nothing!
The "very good"...cabins were comfortable and well ...
We have cruised on various other cruise lines starting in 1976. The Regent Paul Gauguin 2x was a past similar experience for us.
The Dining Rooms - Compass Rose, Prime 7, and Sette Mari have tasty menus, food and excellent service staffs. The Patio Grill at noontime biggest shortcoming is the lack of ice to cool salads with mayo and other non heat resistant dressings and contents sitting out ...
We chose this trip because the itinerary was very unusual. It started in Miami, continued to the Caribbean, sailed on to the Amazon River in Brazil and then back through the Caribbean and ended in Miami.
The Navigator is a small intimate ship where it's easy to make friends. The guests were mainly in their 60s.
The ports were fascinating and the shore excursions that were included in the fare ...
We prefer relatively the smaller expedition capable type ships. Have voyaged now for over 400 nights. Used HAL and Princess until we discovered Regent. No problem with HAL and Princess but Regent is superior in the majority of categories.
This trip was Miami to Miami,13 ports visited, 6 on the Amazon River. Very educational and enjoyable. This is our second cruise on the Navigator and third on ...
My husband and I are 73 and 70 years old and have been on 55 cruises before this one on the Regent.
Boarding:
We arrived at the terminal at 11:30 AM but waited until 1 PM to board and 2PM for the cabins to be ready. Next time we will arrive later.
The Ship
The Navigator is small and easy to "navigate" The pool is never crowded but the only "walking" deck is deck 11 which can be very sunny and ...
