Best ever cruise, best ever vacation

We are retired couple who have traveled all over the world, we wanted to try one of the upscale cruise lines as we have been unhappy with most of the gigantic ship lines. We got the penthouse suite which is only like the 3 category up and it was fabulous, plenty of room, walk in closest, large balcony. People say the rooms are old but everything looked immaculate to us and perfect working ...

Disappointingly average with serious housekeeping issues

My wife and I are cruisers of 20 years and this was our first time on Regent. We chose back-to-back cruises in the Eastern Med in a Mariner suite and we were extremely disappointed by our experience. The ship, the dining, the entertainment were all painfully average, but the trip was totally marred by housekeeping issues. A stain on a sheet on the first night was changed quickly and efficiently. ...

One of Our Favorite Cruise Lines

We enjoyed pretty much everything about this cruise. The itinerary, the service, the food, the land arrangements, our cabin, our friends we went with and the people we met. That said, I'll mention a few places RSSC can improve. There was a major SNAFU in Ravenna, Italy. The actual arrangements (shuttle to town) weren't bad, weren't great, but the INFO given to passengers on the dock was ...

This was only our second cruise. Our first was with P&O and although this cruise was far more expensive, as they say, you get what you pay for. What was really impressive was the way embarkation, tours and disembarkation was managed, it was all very well organised. All the staff, without exception, were friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Being "all inclusive" it was really nice to ...

Seven Seas Mariner has gone downhill

This was our 6th cruise with Regent Seven Seas and it may well be the last. What was once a high end luxurious cruising experience has now been diminished to cost cutting. The service, the cuisine, the excursions are all sub-par now. For example, although most regular excursions are "free" we wanted a more memorable experience and so paid over $600 a person for the "Private View of the ...

Great trip, but the ship was very understaffed.

We are long time Regent cruisers and do enjoy our trips. We have always enjoyed the excellent service and food. This year there was an obvious problem with the service. The current staff was wonderful and worked very hard but they needed more help. Some examples We had breakfast every morning in Veranda. We ordered cappuccino every day and it never was delivered until we had finished ...

I recently returned from a 10-day Mediterranean Rome-Venice cruise. It met all my expectations and was a delightful and memorable experience. I have only a few complaints and none of them ruined my vacation. The best part of the trip was the service. I wanted for nothing during the trip. My cabin steward brought me everything I needed. You could have anything delivered by room service. If ...

Underwhelmed

This was our seventh cruise, having previously sailed with Celebrity, Azamara and Seabourn. I liked the layout of the ship and thought the food in all of the restaurants was of a very high standard and could not be faulted. Service however was patchy and we often had to go up to the bar and ask for a drink as there did not seem to be enough waiting staff in the pool area or horizons lounge. ...

2nd Regent Cruise/Top of the Line

I am a solo traveler, by choice, and when I saw that Regent was offering a 25% single supplement, I called my wonderful travel agency and inquired. I also learned that there were discounted business/1st class air accommodations if I wanted to pay for the upgrade. I did and was very pleased that I did. Flights were smooth, pickup in Venice, Italy was simple. Off to the ship. Spent about an ...

Not a five star experience! Not even four.

We have cruised many times before and chose this cruise for the class of ship and sailing date. This boat did not live up to our expectations. The food was mediocre at best. We were very surprised to find that even though we were in the South of France and Italy at this time of year the tomatoes were tasteless, and the vegetables and fruit were definitely not premier. There is no excuse for not ...
