We chose this cruise for our Honeymoon. Prior to boarding the ship we stayed at the Ritz Carlton Bal Harbor, which we highly recommend. The ship was beautiful and we were so impressed by our cabin, Penthouse Suite 819. TV on demand had great movies and TV Series options. The service was excellent - very attentive. Our room came with a butler, although we really did not know what to do with him, he was still nice to have, and served us breakfast in our room every morning. The Food was absolutely amazing at every restaurant on the ship. We especially loved Chartreuse and Prime 7. But honestly, even the Pool Grill was great. One nice perk of the Penthouse Suite was we were able to book one reservation each at Chartreuse, Prime 7, and Pacific Rim prior to boarding the boat. When we boarded the boat we were not able to book anymore until after our reservations were completed. We booked each for the first three days, and ate at Chartreuse twice, Prime 7 twice, Pacific Rim twice, Sette Mari twice, and Compass Rose three times. In addition to that, we ate at Chartreuse and Prime 7 many times for lunch. Prior to boarding, I decided to book two cooking classes, and I am so happy that I did. They were so much fun. I personally am not into cooking, but my partner is, and I would say we both equally enjoyed both cooking classes. We enjoyed using the gym and infinity pool in Canyon Ranch. Our spa treatments were good, we had two couples massages and pedicures. Our favorite port of call was the private island, Great Stirrup Cay. We did not do any excursions through the ship. Like the other reviews, the internet was not great. I did find the signal to be stronger in the common areas. I was not bothered by this, as I had read the reviews and knew the internet would not be great. We are a same sex couple, and there were several other same sex couples on the ship. We felt very comfortable by how we were treated by staff and other guests. I was surprised at how many guests were 30s-50s age category. Most of the reviews had mentioned the demographics skewed much older. I would say about 1/5th of the guests were under 50. I think the shorter cruises have younger guests, ours was 11 nights. There were many couples on their honeymoon. There were only a handful of very small children (toddlers) and a couple high schoolers, but we did not see any grade school aged children. Getting on and off the ship was easy. Penthouse Suites do not get priority. We did not go to any of the entertainment. Overall everything was excellent, and we can't wait to go back on the Explorer. After 3 prior cruises on Regent Seven Seas, we chose this Caribbean cruise based on itinerary, convenience, New Years Eve, and past experience with Regent. I, as well as my cruise mates, noticed a very perceptible decline in Regent cruises since my first one 7 years ago. The staff, except for the butler, were mostly inattentive and uninterested. The food was, for the most part, inedible. Even the special restaurants leaved much to be desired. The ship itself is in need of a major renovation. The carpeting in the suite was old and stained. The pillows had a disgusting smell. You pay a premium to travel with this cruise line and I am so sorry to say, it was money wasted. The best part of this cruise was getting stuck in Miami due to foul weather in New York. I already have another cruise booked with Regent for 2019. I am seriously considering canceling this cruise and trying another cruise line. Read Less

I choose to take a cruise on Regent Seven Seas because of the great reviews and all-inclusiveness-excursions, casual dress, included tipping, wines and alcohol. I was taking the cruise to see if I could recommend Regent for another cruise my business was taking in 2019 for 20-40 people. I shipped a box of wine and were assured that it would be delivered to our stateroom. By 5pm, we started to get a bit panicked and asked several people if they could help us. Noone seemed to care to help. We talked to someone at reception and he wanted us to provide him with the address and email of where the wine was shipped. We finally found it, but of course, they were already closed for the day. The wine finally made its way to our room but after dinner that first evening. The next day the head sommelier and others talked to us and tried to explain that there was a lot of wine on pallets and they finally got to finding our wine. SERVICE-the staff seemed to be completely overwhelmed for some reason at both dinner in the main Compass Rose dining room, Setti Mare and most of the bars. The bar staff lacked personality and made it feel like we were bothering them. The only time we had good service was at the speciality restaurants. Food-we had only one meal where it was good from appetizers to dessert, that was night 6 in Compass Rose. Even in the speciality restaurants, most of the food was good, some just okay. The Italian restaurant-Setti Mare was not good-we expected better, the raviolis were hard, the sauce not appetizing. One night in Compass Rose, we took one bite of each of our entrees and couldnt eat it, instead, we went back to our room and ate room service hamburgers. In Setti Mare, my girlfriend was not feeling well so we asked for some ginger ale to settle her stomach. We waited 10 minutes and finally I went to one of the bars to get it for her. It never arrived at our table from our waiter. Regent Band-excellent! The best part of the cruise. We enjoyed them at the shows and then afterwards, they played an hour set in one of the lounges. Entertainment-not very good. The singing was terrible and we walked out of 2 shows. Lecture-excellent! There was a lady from the Smithsonian who gave three lectures on the Caribbean and was very informative. Alcohol offered was good. The wine selection not so good. There was one wine we found that was good, an Australian Shiraz and we were able to have it most of the time. Spa was nice for a massage. Gym-not so good. The gym equipment was not the best and the person working the gym was rude. We were stretching one day with a couple other people in a large sized room. We were asked to leave so a yoga class could be conducted for 3 people. Excursions-pretty good. It was nice to see new places. We took 4 excursions, enjoyed the ones we took. We filled out a mid-cruise report and also sent these comments to our travel agent who shared them with her Regent representative. Again, noone at Regent seemed to care about our experience. A shame really, especially for the price we paid for the cruise. Read Less

The Maya region is one of my passions and this itinerary offered good excursions in several ports. I like traveling with Regent even if Mariner is not my favorite ship. It's getting a little worn and showing wear. but the crew is still great. We used Regent air and pick up at airport was fast and included a small guided tour of Miami that was very good as was the tour guide. After almost a 3 hour ride we got to the port right at time for early embarkation. The backup on the boarding ramp was due to trying to get some transfer chairs to people with special needs. Very disappointed about lack of enrichment lectures. I asked and was told the planned guest speaker had family issues that caused a cancellation. Too bad as we had three sea days out of ten. Most excursions and guides were good to excellent. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and concerned with safety. I had been offered a welcome home OBC from Regent if I booked another trip within 45 days and they refused to honor it. I was told that I'd gotten such a good price they wouldn't honor the offer. It was only for $100. OBC and that seemed like a pretty bad image to set in my mind. I also missed the staff welcoming guests back on board at the gangway after a long shore excursion. I'm finding this lacking at all of the ports this trip. An offer of cold water, a damp towel, a person to greet you. Debarkation went smoothly and our transfer included a ride on the Big Bus Tour with luggage transfer to the airport. Read Less

I will preface by saying that I am a regular cruiser and have tried many different categories of cruise lines. Of course Regent is up there with one of the best, and I can definitely say that's where they belong. I went on this cruise with very high expectations, and I am happy to say they were not only met, but exceeded. The ship is very nice and a very comfortable size. Sure, it needs some updating, but there was nothing at all that was unpleasant. The embarkation was organized and easy, but where they had us waiting in Miami was a little strange. We were in some sort of temporary tent building and it was definitely not luxurious. We arrived early so we had run of the ship and were able to take lots of pictures before anyone got in the way. Our cabin was more than comfortable. The shower was huge, as was the walk-in closet. The bed and pillows were comfortable. It was kept very clean and the room steward was very attentive. The verandah was nice and they had thick cushions to put on the furniture if you wanted to sit outside comfortably. The vanity area was perfect for applying makeup and the lighting was decent. The dining room was my favorite. The menu is superb. There are so many choices, and they are all upscale. You can have anything you want and they can customize to any way you like it too. The steaks, fish and seafood choices were better than any high-end restaurant. On one side of the menu the options change daily. The other side of the menu is the same every day with all the standards, and then some. I never had anything I didn't like. The service was wonderful. They bend over backwards to please you. The buffet is small, but there is always plenty to choose from. The pool grill was good, but nothing special. Lots of choices. The activities are limited, but that doesn't bother me personally. I enjoy relaxing and found enough things to do. If you always need to be entertained, you might not find enough going on. The entertainment and shows were decent, though not spectacular as one would expect. I did not like the Regent singers and dancers. I found they couldn't really sing. They were always off tune and annoying. I found those nights to be quite tacky and boring and I stopped going to those shows. We only went when there was a guest entertainer, and they were quite good. The service overall is impeccable. They can't do enough for you. I never came across any personnel who was not kind and helpful and professional. The bar drinks were superb. I am not a big drinker, but I tried a few interesting cocktails and they were always delicious and served with pleasure. The daily trivia game was always packed and people seemed to love it. It was hard to get a seat, so go early. They should do more things like this on sea days. The ports were not that interesting to us (Costa Maya Mexico, Roatan Honduras and Harvest Caye Belize). I didn't mind because I was not expecting much, and I don't cruise for the ports necessarily. I am much more into the cruise experience itself. The shore excursions we took were run very efficiently and were good. It was the Christmas cruise, so it was very busy with families and children. They all looked like they were having a great time, but I would not recommend this cruise for children otherwise. Overall, it was one of the best cruise experiences I have had. You can't beat the value and you certainly get what you pay for, and then some. I will definitely look forward to sailing with them again, particularly after they come out of dry dock. Went on this cruise to celebrate our anniversary. First time on Regent. Had traveled on sister company, Oceania several times. We found the beds on Oceania more to our liking for firmness, but that is personal preference. Very good choice of restaurants. Because we were willing to share tables, we were able to dine in the specialty restaurants several times each. The main dining room was also attractive and well served. Waiters and wine stewards were well trained and friendly. Would not mind having the same crew on our next trip. The dining rooms did run out of grapefruits, blueberries and some other items, even though this was only a 2 week cruise. Booked another trans-Pacific cruise for the Navigator while on board Explorer to take advantage of some discounts. Cruise consultant needs some more training. Did not know much about the Navigator and did not quote the appropriate price. Our travel agent is fixing. Casino looked kind of dark and on most nights on this trip, not that much action. Spa is expensive and overpriced. Quality would have been good at half the price. Nice library, lots of small activities (sports, trivia, lectures, picture puzzles. Definitely an older crowd than any other line we have sailed. Read Less

The ship and staff are amazing - There I've said it !! As an ex merchant seaman and part time cruiser I do agree with Regents description of vessel being most luxurious. The staff are very good and attentive. Always willing to chat or answer questions The food is really very, very good. I am utterly at a loss when people moan about the food. The presentation, quality and choice is second to none. Always space on the ship with plenty of loungers available - maybe not right next to pool but in other areas - yes. I found all the lectures well presented and enlightening. We only missed one show but all the rest including Irish comedian, Broadway singer, Pianist / Magician, Pianist / Comedian and in house shows were all excellent. The theatre is well appointed but we always went downstairs because visibility from upstairs not the best ( Heard several other comments regarding this ) The cabin was well appointed with plenty of drawers and hanging space ( with plenty of hangers !! ) The bed is wonderful & comfortable with a huge ( in my opinion ) balcony Yes the outside furniture is moved back & covers taken off but it's outside and so they should be for safeties sake whilst at sea .The cabin stewards and room service staff attended to all our requirements brilliantly. We had several hours, one night, of poor weather and yes there were some creaks but HEY it's a vessel and should be expected. Unlike a hotel ashore there was no road noise !! We ate all all restuarants with PRIME 7 our favourite. PACIFIC RIM was also very good. CHARTREUSE was our least favourite with a visit to Italian restuarant a better bet. COMPASS ROSE had a very varied menu and again was very good. Some slight issues with time taken for courses to arrive. However as we always requested a shared table this can sometimes be the reason with some people going through menu and others not. However there is always someone to talk too and BEING ON HOLIDAY - CHILL OUT !!! We made the most of the all inclusive tours and on the whole all were very good. Sometimes marred slightly by age of buses, no room to spread out as all seats full and / or poor guides. Used the spa with our onboard credit and although good was - as always on cruise ships - very expensive. Library was well stocked and daily papers available. All the bars are well appointed with the entertainment therein being good. Did not use boutiques or casino. Only went to one shopping / port presentation but same old !! Finally whether I would sail again on REGENT I'll wait and see. It was very expensive ( For us that is ) and I will have to review the " All inclusive " part to see whether it suits us but will always remain a very enjoyable cruise to remember. My rating refers to cruise, ship & staff BONUS ---- NO PHOTOGRAPHERS HANGING AROUND EVERY CORNER, ASHORE, ETC Read Less

We wanted a luxury cruise on a smaller ship with excellent service and good food. We had only cruised on Oceania before and thought that this line would be comparable. We were sorely mistaken. Arranging air travel was difficult. Their agents wanted to do nothing about changing seats or upgrading. The ship was tired and dated. The furniture in the cabin was stained and scuffed. The ship is going to be overhauled in a few months and it is certainly time. The largest negative was the food. The quality was poor and service inconsistent. The worst surprise was that the buffet food was not served by staff-diners helped themselves. Some with no attention to being hygienic. The food was cold and overcooked, especially any fish on the menu. Eating breakfast and lunch in the dining room was an option but service was terrible. The speciality restaurants were quite good but food in the the main dining room was inconsistent. The cruise was Mayan themed which was the biggest draw for us. So we were also very disappointed that the guest lecturer from the Smithsonian Institute did not turn up and no replacement was found. No compensation offered either! The excursions were fine but guides were mixed as to knowledge. Overall this was nothing like the luxury, food quality and service that we experienced before. Prices were high even taking into account that the cruise was all inclusive. We shall not be cruising on Regent again. Read Less

My husband and I chose this cruise line because we have sailed with them before. We do not like the big ships that have so many people on it that it is overwhelming. Regent has small ships that hold 600 people and that is more then enough. So this would make you think that you are getting really individual attention. We found that on this trip the staff would be very good at serving you some days and then on others they would walk right past you. My water glass would get empty and they would walk past you to fill the next table. Wine glass same thing. Breakfast coffee would be empty and you would have to wonder why sometimes they would fill it and other walk on by. Food has gone down in quality and taste to. Some of the staff was wonderful but on one occasion at breakfast we were made to listen to a food manager argue with a staff member. I don't go on a high end Cruise line to listen to that. The Mariner is going to be going for a refit in March but Oh my god!!! It was needed a few years ago. Why do they wait so long? The pillows had a bad smell to them and the cabin was so out dated. I hope they read this because when we spoke to our other cruise mates they all felt the same way. Regent you have a name that you want to keep. Read Less

From start to finish this was a great ship with an outstanding crew. We cannot say enough about the service team. From start to finish all of the staff were committed to making our holiday something to remember. The food service team were attentive and expressed genuine and attention to detail. Every meal was outstanding. When we asked for a different wine it was presented effortlessly. We enjoyed the entertainment. The shows in the theater in the were very good and of course the ever present pianist was a pleasure to listen to. We particularly enjoyed the final show put on by the crew called 'Krew Kapers' that was really cute along with farewell video We took the 10 day cruise through the Western Caribbean and could not have been more satisfied. For the crew no request was too small or too difficult. In particular the cabin attendant (Pamriela) was excellent in her attention to detail. Then of course there was Chef Kelly and his team; superstars every one of them. On one of our shore adventures (Belize) we were particularly impressed with our guide Saul who took care of us as we toll the river tubing outing. That is something not to be missed. Also worthwhile is the dolphin adventure in Costa Maya and the (real) submarine adventure among the coral in Georgetown. To be avoided in the trip to the old fort in Guatemala. We had a guide (Luise) who was an avowed socialist and who kept telling us how well informed he was and also kept referring to us as 'you guys'. The boats to get to this old fort were difficult to enter and exit. (this was the only negative) All in all a great 12 days. Thank you Capt. Aivo and your crew. Read Less

We went to join our friends from Brussels. The Regent Explorer was built in 2016. Hard to believe. Feels like an old ship that has been redecorated. If you are on Deck 5 aft, the elevator bank almost butts right up to the stairwell. Wonder who passed that inspection. We were not made aware of our cabin number until two days before embarkation. For good reason. We paid $11,000 for the smallest accomodation on the ship. Contrary to all other ships, we were not taken to our cabin, no steward to show us around the cabin. There was a bottle of champagne and two glasses that quickly disappeared the next day. No water pressure in the mold smelling shower. AC had to be fixed, TV remote not charged, bedspread not needed, looked and smelled bad. A layer of dust would settle on our shoes each night. Helps to vacuum UNDER the bed once in a while as seen with the dust on our luggage. It took three days, to make staff understand that we wanted diet soda in our refrigerator. That was the ONLY thing we had asked for. Many times, veranda furniture was stacked. We had to pull it out and place cushions. Interesting that there we not enough hangers when we used the cabin, but on departure day, an abundance of new wood hangers we placed in our closet as we left. Best restaurant "Pacific Rim" great service. Chartruse is neither French nor noteworthy. Needed a chain saw to get through two lamb chops. Waiter will pull out our chair, but where are they when the heavy chair will not slide on carpet. It is a struggle. Waitstaff will either buzz around you or are no where in sight. Many times on the Veranda a waiter would say he would get something for us and then disappear, never to be seen again. Very bad system for breakfast. Sometimes numbers on tables, sometimes not. How may times was coffee served with no cream. You waited until your coffee got cold to find someone to bring cream. I thought the two went together. Waiters very nice around the pool but elsewhere??????? Steak house, chef was disappointed that we didn't give him accolades. We asked for decaf We were given just the opposite and didn't sleep the entire night before departure. We are not wowed but furniture or fixtures. If Regent thinks that makes them great, they are dead wrong. It is the service and the graciousness that you remember. Read Less

Points to consider……………….. We are long time main stream cruisers having sailed on a number of different lines including Sliver Sea with a few preferences. This was our 1st Regent Cruise and we cancelled a back to back booking on Celebrity based on the desire and a promotion to try their “most luxurious cruise ship “ That said, expectations were very high. Embarkation was delayed for security reasons which slowed things down but we made our own way to our cabin. It can be called truly all-inclusive however there is a kind of a catch to that. We didn’t truly realize it till we were on board. For us, there was a distinct perception of a subtle Class tier structure. We should have spotted it when trying to pre-book the “free shore excursions.” Bottom line is the more you pay, the earlier the access to availability which if you book later in the season can limit your choices significantly and there’s not on board credit offered if there are no tours suitable for your level of excursion or capabilities. ( I should note at this time that we booked an Entry level stand by cabin and was offered an upgrade for a fee which we took advantage of, though it did not include the usual perks associated with it. Just the cabin. ) We also got the distinct impression that when we arrived at the main dining room and asked for your cabin number, I believe it displays more than who you are in the order of things. On a number of occasions we were lead to a table for two in what I’d consider the highest traffic area in the dinning room. By the Kitchen..... even though there appeared to be room elsewhere. In our opinion, for this level of cruising, should never be offered as the noise and related commotion makes dining quite unenjoyable. The time it took to order and move through course by course was very long as well. When we were offered a similar table a few days later, we declined and waited, then were seated by a window and the service was speedy to say the least. Thereafter, we always had an acceptable table which leads me too the phrase.... “squeaky wheel gets the oil” so to speak. NOTE: Our comments have no bearing on the staff. They do as they are instructed from above. The staff on the ship are exceptional in every way from attitude to level of service. Cabin stewards to food and beverage and guest relations. We have to single out two in particular who work in the lounge just outside the main dinning room. Maya and Oksana who bar-tend made us feel very welcomed and took a genuine keen interest in our daily activities when we stopped by. The food on the ship was pretty bland and average for the most part. Mind you the presentation was fine. Maybe my wife and I are a bit more picky than most but much of it seemed to lack the flavor we enjoy. Not something I expected as it didn’t live up to the level of quality this ship displays. Room service always missed at least one small item in our order and poached eggs came hard boiled. Omelets were ok and eggs sunny side up. The toast on the other hand was hospital food. We could get over that and laughed every time as the bread offerings in the various dining venues were far better and more interesting as I believed are all fresh baked. Oh yah… frozen French fries…. Not. We dined in all specialty the restaurants which were to us unremarkable. However, Sette Mari at La Veranda, which is Le Veranda by day, is the exception, offering Italian cuisine which we found very flavorful. We dined there several times as a result. NOTE: ask for seating outside if at all possible as the main room is much too noisy and sitting outside in the warm breeze is the best! The ship itself is to say the least, very beautiful. The main rooms, dining and artwork are all exceptional and tasteful. The pool is warm salt water and inviting. Great if you have a bit of joint pain. It truly is a gorgeous ship. No doubt about it. The crew are always doing touch ups at every port stop it seemed. For the shore excursions that we did have access to, these were handled very efficiently and Regent Staff and check in system was smooth and worked very well. The entertainment…. The technology on board is great. Good sound and great visuals. Two show productions stood out while the rest and guest artist were average. Again for this level of cruising it should be much better in our opinion. Also a bit more contemporary. A lot less old school.... less 40s and 50’s, not that there isn’t a place for that but something a bit more current would be nice. The entertainment in the lounges were good and worked well with a pre-dinner drink environment. Having been in sale some 30 years, a small personal comment to those in the luxury cruise ship marketing department. Never ever underestimate your entry level cruiser as they may be your next high end client just checking you out to get a taste to see if you walk the talk.... or the main stream couple who worked longer and harder for the same experience. In closing, we all experience the world around us differently and opinions will vary. Would we cruise with Regent again? Likely not, as we found main stream cruisers much more friendly, open and not as pretentious. In many cases its a better value. Read Less

Billed as the most luxurious ship ever built, the Explorer lives up to this accolade. The incredible artwork and Murano glass in the public areas lend an air of decadence to the space. Speaking of space, this ship has it in abundance! In concierge suite 644, we loved the extra room on the side of the bed which was positioned to give a view out of the windows, a genius decision. Storage space was so generous we had at least 10 empty drawers! Dining in every venue was exceptional. Our favorite was Pacific Rim and we were able to eat there 3 times. He loved Compass Rose for breakfast and we both enjoyed dinner there as well. The menu offers a "make your own" list of entrees and sauces so you could always find something to love, even if the daily menu was lacking. It never was! The pastry chef is stupendous. Beef offerings in Prime 7 while delicious are too large. We ordered small portions of the prime rib and even then could only consume half. Avoid a starter if you dine there, but hard to do with the temptations on offer. The most significant part of this cruise was the number passengers with mobility issues, from canes and walkers to wheelchairs They were catered to remarkably well. It was so special to know Regent could accommodate these folk. Quality of entertainment was mixed, two shows exceptional, many average. Cruise director John Barron is a delight. Excursions were excellent. We especially recommend Jenni's Spices Cooking Studio in St. Lucia, but submersible (Barbados), beach break (Antigua), and Sunnyside Garden (Grenada) also quite good. Due to hurricane, we visited St. Kitts and loved the Caribbean Cooking Experience as well. The down side was the embarkation and disembarkation handled by Academy sub-contractor. Departure from the hotel was chaotic at best. Upon leaving the ship, no clear signage or direction for picking up luggage or getting to coaches existed. We were dropped at Miami airport at the wrong stop and had to walk from one terminal to another, again with no staff on hand for directions or assistance. Other cruises we have taken provided someone who escorted us to the check in desk in a timely manner. Sadly that last experience colored our positive experience on the ship. We hav been on Regent Cruises before but they have definitely gone down hill. We chose the Amazon adventure 25 night cruise. Regent advertises all inclusive shore excursions and premium drinks. We booed shore excursions weeks in advance. It took several visits to their website and several phone calls as not all locations were available for booking. We finally had all excursions booked. They were booked at least two months in advance. The night of embarkation we received a letter that one of our excursions that we were confirmed on was oversold and we were deleted from the booking. We went to the Excursions desk the next morning to book another excursion but were told nothing else was available. We were told that we should have read the fine print that all inclusive “subject to availability”. At dinner we were offered two selections of wine included with dinner, one red and one white. We asked to see a wine list which were all up charges. In several state rooms the air conditioning was not working and the rooms were quite hot. Bottom line, we believe we are far better off staying with an upscale cruise line like Celebrity and purchasing the excursions and premium drink package. Read Less

We liked the itinerary and the cruise line. Regent is expensive, but you don't get nickeled and dimed on board. The size (small) of the ship also made it attractive. My mjain complaint was the lack of activities and the lack of variation in the activities. Since my wife and I like "brain" games - trivia of various sorts, this cruise was lacking. I also would have liked a bit more variety in the breakfast and lunch buffets, and missed having an evening buffet. However, the food was good and well prepared. When we tried to book excursions on-line, some were sold out even though I tried to book them as soon as possible. My class of stateroom, however, did not allow us to book our excursions as early as those with more expensive staterooms. The TV reception was spotty, at best, and there were only 6 or 7 channels (other than ship channels) available. A sign in the library promised at least 150 interactive recorded movies and /tv shows available, but at times there were only 112. Read Less

My wife and I traveled on Regent Mariner for the first time on this cruise line. Even though the ship shows some signs of wear, the crew could not have been more friendly and accommodating. We loved everything about the voyage. The ten sea days were filled with activities, especially an excellent lecturer. We enjoyed playing ACBL sanctioned duplicate bridge on the sea days. We danced every evening to a talented duo in one of the lounges. Most of the shore excursions were excellent. Entertainment was mixed, although the resident singers and dancers were excellent. The staff provided necessary supplies of hand sanitizer and toilet paper for our shore excursions in Brazil. Regent has some nice touches such as a 'block party' on the second evening that allows all the guests to come out of their staterooms to mingle in the corridor while the captain and senior staff race around the ship to greet everyone. Also, the captain was seen frequently and many times greeted us as we went on shore excursions. Because of the friendliness of all the staff and the quality of the food, we decided to book another cruise on Regent. Read Less

we choose this cruise because we had heard good things about Regent and we liked the fact that it was all inclusive. We liked the ship itself. It was clean and well maintained. We did not like the pool because it was too hard to get into and out of. The concierge level cabin was nice. The bathroom had both a bath tub and a separate shower and we liked the fairly large walk in closet. We also liked that there were drapes not only on the windows, but between the sitting area and the bed area. That allowed one of us to sit and drink coffee and read without waking the other. Since the only differences between concierge level and penthouse level seemed to be that the penthouse level had a butler and nicer bathroom amenities we didn't see the need to spend the extra few hundred dollars for the penthouse level since the rooms are the same size. The food on the ship was good. Prime 7, the specialty restaurant, was decent but the food was not really special. Like most ships, Regent puts rice in their salt shakers to keep the salt from absorbing too much water. The problem is, the rice is larger that the holes in the top of the shaker and it is impossible to get the salt out, unless you remove the top. The entertainment was good. We enjoyed the most of the shows, especially the one put on by the crew. When they offered a tour of the galley a lot of us took advantage of it. We got a chance to walk through the galley and see where and how our food was cooked. They were displays of food throughout the tour. Everybody walked through and then walked into the dining room to order our lunch. Only then were we told that we should have taken our lunch from the food that was on display in the galley. You would think that would have been mentioned prior to the tour. We were most disappointed in the Destinations Desk. They should get some of the crew to go on the tours they promote. The bus tour in New York was a mess. The tour simply drove around the very crowded streets. The tour guide would say things like, "If you look down that street to your right you will get a quick look at Times Square". How about driving to Times Square or Central Park? Also, as part of the tour we were going to take a boat tour on the river and the Statue of Liberty. The tour guide got our tickets and sent us to the boat. She had told us the tour would start a 3, but the tickets were for 3:30. So we all got to sit around for 45 minutes. In Sept-Iles we were told that a shuttle bus would take us around the city. The shuttle bus would be a hop on, hop off type of bus. When we got on the bus, the tour guide told us that that the bus would not go around any of the city and would not make any stops except to drop us off at a point about a mile from the bus. There was nothing at that point other than a large tent where you could wait for the shuttle to return, if you wanted. Upon returning to the ship we complained to the manager of Destinations and she apologized and said she hadn't been made aware of the problem until about an hour before we had to be back on the ship. Prior to disembarkation we were offered a brief tour of Montreal prior to being taken to the airport, as long as our plane was scheduled to depart after 4 p.m.. I explained to a Destination member that our flight departed departed at 3:25 p.m. and was told that wouldn't be a problem. He scheduled us for the tour and we were issued the necessary luggage tags. The next day we were called and told that we couldn't go on the tour because our flight left too early and that we needed new luggage tags. Not a big deal, just and example of Destinations not being fully aware of what was going on. All in all, I think we will go back to traveling with Oceania. Regent just didn't live up to their reputation on this cruise. Read Less

We choose this cruise because of the itinerary , Panama Canal , Costa Rica , Guatemala , all those countries we haven't been ..and who are very interesting . The cabins are not very spacious , but correct . No need to take a Penthouse class , anyway the area is exactly the same , it's only the situation on the ship that differs , and you get the help of a butler . There are 3 restaurants , but the capacity is not enough in the evening , so if you want to eat in the main restaurant you have to come early, or after 8 a'clock , otherwise you wil have to wait until somebody leaves and a table becomes free . Same thing in the Italian restaurant , and for the speciality restaurant you have to make a reservation . So forget about dining at your convenance . Service is very erratic , several times we had to wait one hour for breakfast , and we had only some fruit and an omelet ! Concerning the publicity about "free unlimited shore excursions "it is far from the truth - you can only get one a day , because you need at least two hours between two excursions . And in at least one port of call we could'n have an excursion . We had a discussen about that with somebody from the staff and he says that this is a normal situation , that they don't need to have an excursion for everybody . We have noticed a change in the amenities since Norwegian took them over. Not as much luxury and we saw some skimping. The entertainment was repetitive - piano player ,guitar piano player, guitar. We stopped going to the shows. The restaurant service was okay but the lunch menu was cream soup daily. The lecturer had political opinions and didn't hesitate to state them. For one of the lecturers,. he spoke for twelve minutes about the policy of the new White House on the environment - irritating since he was Scottish. We did get to Devil's Island on this cruise. We have tried before at least three times on other cruises and never could due to weather. The Captain was Italian and had a hard time with his English We did see other officers around the ship but rarely saw the Captain. Internet serviced was impossible on the ship just about everywhere. I could only stay connected for 5 - 7 minutes at a time and then not again for many hours. Read Less

Regent offered the best itinerary and time of the Amazon River...hence we booked it! A careful evaluation on our return home leaves me with the following comments: The best..."all-inclusive" means just that...you pay for nothing - wifi, shore excursions, specialty restaurants, booze, friendliness of the crew, gratuities...nothing! The "very good"...cabins were comfortable and well serviced, for shipboard, we had good wifi, Prime 7 for steak was excellent (though service was a bit tardy). The "average" and "below"...daily entertainment on sea days was very limited, evening entertainment was weak. Restaurant service was very inconsistent - one day every efficient, next you would have to wave down staff to check on meal. The layout of the ship...all entertainment, lounges, etc. are at med-ship or at the stern...meaning that you must go on-deck to experience any port entries, sea life watching, etc. No lounge offers sea views while sipping a cocktail. Would we go back? Only if no other line offered an equal itinerary. Read Less

CARIBBEAN AND AMAZON ADVENTURE Seven Seas Navigator May 23-June 17, 2017 This cruise was Miami round-trip down the Amazon River to Manaus and back. It lasted 26 days and the ship was sold out months in advance. There were ten sea days necessitated by the long distances to be covered. The cruise is often offered twice a year and we opted for the May (versus November) trip because it arrives in the Amazon at the very end of the rainy season. The passengers were primarily retired seniors. There were fewer with wheelchairs and walkers due to necessity for walking in most ports in order to see the most interesting sights. At this time, the river is at a high water mark, extremely muddy and as much as 10 miles wide. The captain told us that the huge amounts of water coming down river slowed the ship down somewhat. The itinerary originally included a stop called Alter du Chao and we did not stop there. The ship’s announcements led us to believe it was due to the heavy current and the need for more time to reach Manaus however Michael Scott, the Smithsonian lecturer, showed photos of Alter du Chao which is essentially a set of white sand bars with restaurants and beach chairs like a resort and told us it was generally underwater and shut down at this time of year so anchoring off of it would have been useless. At all of the Amazon ports, we did see that the greenery we thought were water plants were actually the tops of the trees on the river islands just barely sticking up above the flood waters. On one shore excursion, it was pointed out that we were able to dock much closer to the attraction than would be possible during the dry season when visiting the rubber plantation would have involved a 2-3 kilometer walk through the jungle. The cruise was smooth for the most part. There were occasional brief rain showers which is to be expected in this area of the world. The crew diligently dried the deck and recovered the lounge chairs after these showers. Cruise preparations: You will need a Brazilian visa for this which can be obtained by filling out a form on the embassy website, obtaining a US postal money order for $160 per person and taking your passport to the embassy or using a visa service is no embassy is near. You will also need either a yellow fever inoculation or a waiver letter. Since we were both 70 or above, the local travel medicine clinic stamped the inoculation folder with a waiver stamp for us. On the advice of the travel clinic, we also purchased permethrin spray at REI and sprayed two outfits for each of us and got bug repellent as well. We never saw a mosquito during the entire trip but if everyone else did what we did, we probably traveled in a cloud of bug repellent. We also got malaria tablets with a prescription from the travel clinic and took those with absolutely no side effects. Many people covered their arms, legs, ankles, and more when they went out while we were on the Amazon which was probably a good precaution but again, bugs just seemed to be non-existent. Ship: The Navigator is the smallest ship in the fleet with 480 passengers and a crew of 360. It is cozy but generally feels uncrowded and many of the passengers said it was their favorite ship. Many of the comparable spaces on other ships in the fleet have been combined on the Navigator. For example, Coffee Connection and the Internet room share a small lounge area. The piano bar is another small area across from that and the small library adjoins them as well. One nice difference from many cruise ships is that the showroom is in the back of the ship. The ship is well maintained. All of the crew demonstrated incredible friendliness and willingness to help. This seems to be a hallmark of Regent. Cabins: The cabins are identical to other Regent ships in that most are 328 sq. ft. suites with a seating area, a balcony, a very spacious bathroom and a walk-in closet. The bed and linens were wonderful and we felt there was plenty of storage space. Our only complaint, and it was a common one, was that the thermostats in the cabins did make much difference in the temperature. We were told that heating/AC is done by blocks of cabins overall so that some passengers complained of hot cabins while others said they were freezing. Dining: The Navigator has a main dining room, the Compass Rose, identical to other Regent ships. It has open seating. There is one specialty restaurant, Prime Seven, which is a steakhouse. Prime Seven adjoins La Veranda, the breakfast/lunch buffet. The double doors between the two were often opened to provide extra seating for breakfast and lunch when the buffet was always crowded. As with other ships, La Veranda became Sette Mare, an Italian restaurant, at night. I liked the fact that there were several dishes alongside the salad bar at night that were not on the Sette Mare menu and provided more choices. Breakfast and lunch items were also available at the Pool Grill which had some incredible theme lunches on sea days. The food was wonderful no matter where you ate although by the end of 26 days, we were ready for a simple home-cooked meal again. We’d had our fill of steak and lobster. There is no pizza station on the ship although the hamburgers and hot dogs at the grill were very good. We did discover that if you wanted a dish not found on the menu, a special dessert or a complete Indian dinner for example, it was possible to make arrangements for this. Entertainment: The singers and dancers were all new on our cruise and somewhat tentative in their first production show but excellent after that when they got the butterflies out. Other entertainment included a female piano player (great talent but with a super ego that was a bit of a turn off), an impressive husband and wife classical guitar duo, a tango act and some local entertainers who came on for one night. We especially liked the group of five from Manaus who used native instruments to imitate nature sounds as part of their songs. There was only one show nightly so I would advise arriving early to get seats since the seating around the top and sides of the show room was awkward and uncomfortable bar height seating or obstructed low seating. A Smithsonian lecturer, Michael Scott, was on board the entire cruise and he gave very informative and interesting talks often on the coming ports, the wildlife and more. Since there were many sea days, this added up to a lot of talks and they were well attended. He was also often up on deck watching for wildlife to photograph and made himself available for questions. The ship offered, as many do, games on sea days which were played on deck or in a small carpeted corner on deck 9. These included shuffleboard and baggo, magnetic darts, plastic bowling pins, indoor croquet, etc. There were generally 20-25 people attending these games and hoping for some fun and merriment. Unfortunately, the staff assigned to put these games had no imagination or playfulness in putting them on and it was often 15 minutes or less before they were over. The singers and dancers were being trained to assist with the games during the last week of the cruise and hopefully they might bring some variety and innovation when using the game materials provided. Liars Club was held twice during the cruise in the top lounge, Galileo’s. Team Trivia was held nearly every afternoon at 4:30 in the Star lounge. Again, I would advise arriving very early to secure seats and form teams. Both were very well attended We arrived about 15 minutes before Liar’s Club was to start and were unable to get a seat even though extra chairs had been brought in. This cruise crosses the equator twice. Anyone who crosses becomes known as a Shellback and is supposed to be initiated by King Neptune. Some of the entertainment crew stood in for the passengers and there was a lot of laughter as they were slimed and pushed into the pool. Ports and excursions: Note: The majority of Regent shore excursions are free and well worth taking. However, few cruise ships visit the Amazon and tourist guides and sights may not be up to the level one would normally expect. Gustavia, St. Barts: Small French-speaking island. Restaurants and shopping are much higher priced than other parts of the Caribbean. We walked to the TI from the tender (the TI is located on the water about a block and a half from the dock and is not well marked). We got a map from the TI and walked around the small town to Shell Beach where we found a lot of the singers and dancers enjoying an hour of beach time. Most shops were closed during the middle of the day. Castries, St. Lucia: We took the 7 hour “Land and Sea to Soufriere” tour. We took a small van over the very winding roads of the island stopping at a small fishing village for a potty break and to stretch our feet, a viewpoint, a botanical garden and an “estate” where we had a buffet lunch of local foods and then were led on a short tour to see mock-ups of worker huts and processing of coffee beans, sugar cane and coconut like they would have been done in the past. The several vans of passengers all met at a dock to go on a catamaran (more like a ferry) for a stop along the coast for a short swim (it was twilight by this time) and then continue back to the ship. Note: This was such a long tour that the long sail back to the ship was in the dark. The boat was dimly lighted. We were served rum punch and other non-alcoholic drinks and the guides did their very best to keep us entertained by dancing to the songs playing over the loudspeaker. Everyone was quite tired by the time we were back to the ship. Half of the passengers on this tour did it in reverse – catamaran first, van back to the ship. St. George, Grenada: The ship docked on a Sunday in Grenada. We had been here before and just walked off the ship, through the car/foot traffic tunnel under the hill where the fort is, and around the small harbor. The only people we saw where several taxi drivers who stopped to ask if we would like a tour. There is very little to see around the harbor. Some passengers walked up through town to look at one of the two churches. Port of Spain, Trinidad: We took a city tour which included a botanical garden and a steel drum performance. Our guide spoke good English, was very knowledgeable and proud of her city but gave an honest description of the pluses and minuses of the area. The botanical garden was pleasant and easy walking. The steel drum concert was given by six older gentlemen at their steel drum club’s practice facility outdoors under a roof which was very handy when a sudden heavy rainstorm came through. Boca du Valeria, Brazil: After four sea days, we arrived at this small fishing village of perhaps 75 people. There were no shore excursions here because the ship tenders simply dropped passengers at the tiny dock where we were eagerly greeted. Children (who speak almost no English) mobbed the walk off the dock and quickly grabbed your hands to escort you to the right down the path through the jungle as far as you cared to walk until you turned around. There were many boys along the path with pet sloths, parrots, huge bugs and parakeets hoping you would take their photo and give them a dollar. There were adults next to small stalls selling wood carvings and jewelry made of feathers. Apparently the villagers from miles around come to greet the very few ships which stop here. Once we made it clear to our four kids that we wanted to see the village, they led us along the boards and pathway to the one-room school and adjoining one-room church. At that point, we gave them each a few dollars and had a photo taken with them and they immediately disappeared in search of more passengers. Suggestions: All of the kids eagerly accepted the chocolates left on your bed each night (they will melt once you are off the ship and be quite messy). Dollars are good. There was a small stuffed bear in our cabin and I gave it to the smallest child. I think all of the girls would have liked one. The school is very basic and welcomes any school supplies (pencils, etc. from the Dollar Store) as well as money. I had several emergency sewing kits which I gave to an old lady and to a woman who beckoned us to visit her house. This was one of the most interesting stops of the trip. If you go and wonder how they have very few possessions but have a satellite dish and tv, we were told the government provided these some years ago as a way of raising the literacy level and lowering the extremely high birth rate (it worked). Manaus, Brazil: We had a two day stop in this town of 2 million. Day one we took the Highlights of Manaus city tour to the restored Opera House (amazing), the city zoo (sad), and the indigent indian museum (small and skippable). The second day our excursion was Rubber Museum and Indian Community which included a boat trip to a mock-up of a rubber plantation from the late 1800s. The plantation was built for a movie production and now is a very educational tourist attraction. Our guide was excellent and we were able to fully understand the desperate plight of the men who became rubber-harvesting slaves and what they had to do. We also visited an indigenous indian village where we were given a performance of traditional songs and dances in a tribal meeting building. Despite the loin cloths on the men and topless grass-skirted women, the modern haircuts on the men and the somewhat embarrassed postures of the women made it clear they are very much a part of the modern world just a few miles down the river. In the evening, we took the caiman hunting excursion. Everyone is boarded onto two large riverboats which then take you across the river about 45 minutes to an area where smaller 10 person boats are waiting at a dock. The boats go off into the dark lighted only by the moon (a full moon in our case) to cruise through the tops of the trees of the flooded islands while a man in the front shines a flashlight into the foliage hoping to pick up the reflection of the caiman’s eyes. The jungle sounds around you are extraordinary. Most of the boats found no caiman because the full moon made it possible for them to see us and move away before we were close enough. One boat did catch two small caiman and brought them back to the riverboat for everyone to hold for photos. I would do this again just for the experience of floating through the dark and listening to the wildlife sounds. Santarem, Brazil: Although there were good shore excursions from Regent, we joined another couple and booked a private guide, Karim, with Big Tree Adventures. This knowledgeable, friendly and capable guide with a van and driver was worth every penny. We toured leisurely through the fish market, the fruit and vegetable market, stopped for photos of a church, had a beer at a very nice hotel with a great view of the waterfront, and then had a great fish lunch at Restaurant Piracema. Afterward, we boarded a small boat and went across the meeting of the waters (where the clear, dark water of the Rio Tapajos meets the muddy Amazon) into Maica Lake to see sloths, lizards, many birds, giant water lilies and local homes. It was one of the best days of the cruise. Parintins, Brazil: We began booking shore excursions too late to see the city during the day but were lucky to get on the Boi Bumba Folk Show excursion in the late afternoon. Passengers are taken by tender to the dock and walk across the street past the market to an air-conditioned performance venue. Go as early as possible to get the best seat. The town is famous for having the second largest Carnival-type festival in South America. Two clubs compete only for the honor of winning and annually design flamboyant costumes, floats, and dances which are presented during the last weekend of June in an outdoor stadium constructed for that purpose. We were treated to a one-hour performance indoors by one of the clubs. Singers and dancers moved in front of us for 60 full minutes. Their energy was incredible. Don’t miss this one. Devil’s Island, French Guiana: After exiting the Amazon, there is a one day stop with no shore excursions at this small, infamous island, site of the French prison depicted in the movie “Papillion”. The island is a tropical paradise of palms, birds, and monkeys. The buildings are in decay and visitors can walk wherever they like. There is one building now used as a hotel/hostel and serving some food. There are several ways to access the ruins in the center of the island, either by taking the slower but longer outer road or using the quicker path with steps. You can see the solitary confinement cells in a fairly well preserved building, others where only the lower rock walls remain, the childrens’ cemetery where the families of prison employees were buried, and more. There are very few signs. Bridgetown, Barbados: We took the “Beach Break” excursion. Guests are bussed to a long, white beach where there are pairs of lounges sharing a large umbrella to choose from. Bathrooms and changing facilities are upstairs in the beach bar which owns the lounges. The water is a beautiful shade of blue and was calm the day we were there. The water temperature was a little cool but easy to stay in. For $10, a boat would take you out to view large turtles and coral. St. John’s, Antigua: “Historical Island Drive and Beach Break” Along with our very funny local guide, we were bussed around the island hearing about the politics and culture of Antigua. We stopped at two high lookouts with ruins of English forts and then went to Nelson’s Dockyard where sailing ships were repaired and outfitted during the height of the English occupation. We were given a ticket for a rum punch or soft drink in one of the buildings which is now a bar and then taken to a beach. Despite what the Regent description said, there were bathrooms and changing facilities at the beach as well as shaded tables, a few benches and lots of sea grape trees which provided shade as well. San Juan, Puerto Rico: We did the Rainforest Nature Walk. This is a long excursion to El Yunque National Park, the only rainforest in the US National Park system. It’s about 1 ½ hours from the port. There was a stop at the visitor’s center with a movie, a waterfall photo, a pool built by the CCC, and a tower to climb for a view. The nature walk in our tour was very short down some steps, around a picnic shelter and back again and had no “nature” to see. I understand that other tours actually did have a walk on a path so which guide you get makes a difference. The ride back to the ship was during rush hour and San Juan has very clogged streets so it took even longer than the ride to the forest. Our guide had brought along a bags of chips, water and beer which were much appreciated since we had been gone a very long time and dinner had started by the time we returned. Read Less

This was my very first time cruising, so i didn't know what to expect. I am 49, and I took my 19 year old niece. Obviosly youngest on Regent. While we enjoyed dressing up for dinner a few times, we didn't like feeling obligated to. Well, if you want to leave cabin that is... We had the first night at hotel in Miami. That was extremely disorganized. Even though Regent knew of an embarkation time change weeks before and notified me, they aparently didnt tell anyone at the hotel. Or the staff just didnt know. The Epic hotel, imo, was a complete disaster. On the plus side, transport both from airport and from hotel to port was great. Very organized. The ship itself definitely not worth the amount we paid. I did read other reviews prior, so perhaps Navigator isn"t a fair representation of Regent. If not, it should be much cheaper than the other 3 in Regent's fleet. Since it was nicely refurbished, it looked really great. But old. There was a lot of vibration and noise! I dont think all elevators were working simultaneously at any time the entire cruise. So you can imagine the wait times! And they actually use this ship for world cruises? I had my fill after only 11 nights. Definitely not a luxury experience. Service was excellant, everywhere. All waitstaff, bar staff, cabin steward.... They all go out of their way for you. Any shows or entertainment were definitely geared to a much older crowd. Not an issue though. The crew gave a great performance on the last night. Not being a drinker I really can't comment on lounges or nightlife. The food was good, but not the best. Certainly not what I was expecting. Room service menu was poor. But if it is during dinner, you can order from Compass Rose. We were both very pleased with the shore excursions. Both the quality and the way Regent handled them-very organized. Even when there were time changes. Towels and bottled water as you leave ship. But then, this is all what you should expect for a luxury cruise, right? Overall, I would probably do Regent cruise again only if it were a different ship. Or a LOT cheaper! Otherwise I would go with a more casual line. I booked another cruise for 2019, but not with Regent. Read Less

Our friends found a great deal for RSS 25th Anniversary cruise and so we jumped at the chance to join them and try our first luxury cruise (previously sailed with Celebrity, HAL and NCL). It started well with an upgrade to a balcony suite. Embarkation was smooth although they did not have our cards and had to escort us to Guest Services which was unusual. The ship has been recently remodelled and we were impressed by our cabin and the public spaces. The ship has notable vibration problems in the rear spaces such as the theatre and bars. At times all the bottles were clinking and sitting on stools almost required hanging on. It was also notable how much more this smaller ship moves. Especially in our forward cabin, this cabin was very noisy when arriving in ports as well. As a married couple in our early 40's we were regularly queried if we were entertainment when embarking so I think it highlights the average age is much higher than our previous cruise experiences. Unfortunately we did not meet our room attendant for the first 2 days and eventually when we queried how we were supposed to set up the personal bar, the assistant HK visited us with our attendants to find out why we had not been given a tour of our cabin and requests for our personnel requirements. Things improved after this. The first 2 nights in the Compass Rose we also found the service to be very casual and when my wife asked if she could taste a different wine to the daily special the sommelier quoted it was not a wine tasting event?!!? A query to the FB manager was handled quickly and professionally and we had no future problems. Many of us felt that the crew seemed very tired and uninterested and that this may have been due to them just completing the world cruise and apparently having a very rough crossing. After a couple of days service improved and after visiting Bermuda where the weather was great and the crew got a chance to get ashore, service notably improved from then on and by the end was an excellent standard. We appreciated the amazing dinnerware, quality of furnishings, pool chairs, sporting equipment, the library etc. It was a noticeable improvement in quality. We felt breakfast was average to good (except the caviar Sunday which was fun). Lunch options were plentiful but the standout was dinner. The compass Rose has a great dinner, Prime 7 was superb and the Italian was a nice change (although hard to get into with the limited seating). Entertainment was not as good as we have experienced on the larger ships, most other passengers thought the production shows were great. The last one was excellent but the earlier ones were a bit flat and the quality of some of the singing and dancing wasn't great. The theatre looks amazing but unfortunately gets very crowded and could be difficult to find a comfortable seating arrangement. We enjoyed the silly activities and the deck games. The pool area was nice but shade was limited and unfortunately rude passengers reserved deck chairs for hours without using them and this was never policed. Also many use multiple deck chairs which is even more arrogant. Included tours were quite good but we are not group tour people and with large groups and elderly members it made for very slow going. Overall we had a very fun time and appreciated the lift in quality especially as we were fortunate to sail on a very good deal which made the value for money even more outstanding. If we had paid full price the early service issues would have been unforgivable. The vibration, movement and noise issues would be annoying. At our age it is probably preferable to sail on the ships with a slightly different demographic but still appreciate what an amazing time we had. Read Less

The itinerary allowing us to travel to Bermuda from Florida on the ship was our deciding factor to celebrate our 44th anniversary. We cruised on the Navigator for our 30th anniversary and did not want to miss out on this last trip to Bermuda. The ship was beautiful, having been refurbished last year, and was better than our expectations. Embarkation and disembarkation were smooth and easy. The food delicious and always flavorful, attractive and top service. We especially enjoyed several of the cast productions however felt Clive Carrington's classics and piano bar entertainment was the best we have enjoyed (this was our 28th cruise). His amazing talent playing everything from classical to current venues as well as singing kept us entertained nightly. Guests and one of the bar servers, Elvis, even shared his mike adding so much to the evenings. Singer Shauna Hicks' Broadway show was also amazing. She was featured two nights and we wish she was on stage at least once more. Another great talent who hope to see in the future. We enjoyed the special interest lectures with Kim Orlando. Service was always perfect, helping with smiles and warm greetings. We definitely will cruise on Regent again and plan to book one of their other ships for variety and itinerary from Florida.
