We chose Regents for our 20th wedding anniversary trip. We heard it was the best.
We had one of their best suited and lost a full nights sleep the first night on board because there were exhaust fumes coming in our room from a faulty system plus the front door didn’t actually close completely and rattled all night, plus, plus, plus. It was a hellish night.
They can and fixed everything ...
Navigator is the oldest and smallest of the RSS fleet. Being so small meant it could sail on the Amazon, although we were stuck on a sandbank for several hours.
On deck there is a very small pool, with no easy access, two jacuzzi and steamroom on 11 floor.. Pool side loungers in the shade were insufficient and the walking running track was limited
The ships facilities are tired, only one ...
1. We are platinum Regent travelers. And have taken cruises on many other ships too. Before covid we sailed on all the Regent ships, including the Mariner (8 yrs. ago). We did 2 cruises with the Splendor earlier this year, making up for lost time since the pandemic. Let me begin that we have been spoiled with the Explorer and now the Splendor. The Mariner is not the same ship we enjoyed years ...
We chose this cruise because we had our honeymoon on Seven Seas Mariner in 2014 and thought this itinerary was interesting. After eight years away, the Mariner has had a top to bottom refurb and the ship looks great! Service for the most part was wonderful - especially our cabin stewards and the observation lounge waiters/bar staff. Free laundry and pressing made packing much less ...
We are regular cruisers and for our cruise to Alaska we felt we would benefit more from the small ship experience. Our travel agent recommended Regent as the most luxurious cruise line. Maybe we just expected to much. The ship itself was immaculate and all the staff were very courteous.
However, we found the standard of the food to be dissapointing, the main difference in mainline cruises and ...
We just returned from our first cruise on a regent ship to Alaska. We sailed on June 3rd out of Seward and disembarked in Vancouver. Prior to sailing on Regent, we have been on many other lines; Viking Ocean, Oceania, Paul Gauguin, Princess, RCC, Holland America and Celebrity. We have been on Alaska cruises before, but this time I convinced my DH to try a “luxury line.” I am using the ...
Cruise was satisfactory, however the staff was inadequate and inexperienced. We were disappointed that there seemed to be no serious attempt at providing the social experience or entertainment experience that had been advertised and promised. We were continually told that the staff was short due to covid.
We were continually asked by the staff how we wanted something, food or service, then ...
We have sailed many times with Regent. ALWAYS STANDARDS HAVE BEEN HIGH BUT NOT SO MUCH ON THIS CRUISE. still great staff BUT the organisation re travel was lousy. Forced to fly via Heathrow both ways when direct flights available, dumped on day of departure in a beach club that was 1 star and over crowded to a level that was crazy. Put on a minibus with 10 passengers plus all luggage, crammed in ...
This was a back to back cruise. There are many very good aspects to this ship. It’s small leading to great interaction between crew and passengers. Even the entertainers spent time with the passengers. The Captain was very accessible and courteous. The General Manager the same. The executive concierge helped us with several personal problems. The destination staff went out of the way to find ...
We actually didn't choose this cruise or itinerary but voluntarily accept a bump off our original cruise in exchange for numerous upgrades and rebates. We flew coach to LAX with me squeezed in the middle seat and I was unable to get upgraded with my AA miles. The return flight arrangement took us 30 hours from the time we disembarked in Papeete at 8:45 AM until we touched down at JFK at 8:30 PM ...
