We cruised the British Isles on the Regal Princess during July 2023.
Our Embarkation was the easiest we’ve ever experienced. We had done pre-cruise days in London and on departure day our bus left right on time from the hotel and got us to the port by 11. Staterooms were ready by 1:30. At the terminal it took like 2 seconds to get our medallions. They were extremely efficient.
Our room ...
The itinerary was the reason for booking this trip with both our families. The ship and service exceeded our expectations. The ship was full an felt like it. We did not get to enjoy the entertainment as every show was full before we could arrive after dinner. The meals were average at best, but the service was excellent. We learned to send someone ahead to save spaces in the lounges and games ...
5 Stars – Embarkation/Disembarkation in Port of South Hampton and Transfer to Heathrow Airport.
4 Stars – Crew. Most were friendly and accommodating with a few exceptions. (5 Stars to the International Café Staff) (2 Stars to the Cruise Director. Cruise Director at the end of each Theater Show would tell a Long/Old Joke that she probably found on YouTube.
4 Stars – Bar Drinks and ...
Several things were done well on this cruise but the worn out bed and the flavorless, poorly cooked food spoiled the experience. Embarkation in Southampton was a breeze. The ship public spaces are lovely and kept spotless. The crew were are quite polite. The bed was very poor, so a good night's sleep was not to be had.
The food in the main dining room was undercooked (pasta), overcooked ...
We’ve done 4 Princess cruises in the past year with very good results, but this was an odd exception. We chose the cruise because of its attractive British Isles itinerary, and the itinerary was indeed very good. But unlike other Princess cruises, the food in the main dining rooms were of poor quality with very limited selection. The service was slow and sloppy, and the maitre d’s seldom smiled or ...
While the Princess Regal is a beautiful clean ship with above standard cabin rooms, it completely crashes on guest services.
The Medallion feature is the best feature. It makes travel on and off quick, it makes paying for specialty drinks quick and makes finding your group onboard simple. However I purchased the bracelet at an extra fee for my daughter but at check in her bag was empty, The ...
We were not pleased with our cruise and thought maybe we had a one-off experience but after reading through some of the other reviews it seems others expressed similarities on how we felt about our cruise experience. Others had a different sail date and location so appears the experience is not limited to our specific cruise. I have been on 5 cruises (including the one i am writing the review ...
I have just disembarked the regal princess and overall it was an enjoyable cruise

I know it’s not the cruise lines fault but ...
This was our first, and last Princess cruise. We have been on about 10 cruises and the support from Princess was non-existent. The cruise itself was okay. We had a great British Isles itinerary, booked our own excursions and had wonderful luck. The entertainment and options on board were great. The food was mediocre - hit or miss as to quality. Sometimes great, other times not really what I ...
Loved the Regal Princess with some qualifications. The ship is beautiful and very well kept. I don’t know when they did all the maintenance but it was never intrusive and everything sparkled. Our room steward kept our cabin in good order all the time.
Embarkation was swift however we embarked at 10:30 and I understand that later there was a fire alarm that held embarkation up. We couldn’t ...
