Cabin --- We had a penthouse suite (R606) which was spacious and comfortable (with more than enough storage). Our cabin steward (Dennis) was thorough. He adapted his clean-up schedule to fit our schedule. The concierge lounge was about 20 feet from our door, which made it convenient to go there and pick up morning coffee and pastries to bring back to our cabin. Scheduling and information from our concierge was very helpful --- as opposed to going to (or calling) various place throughout the ship. Our biggest criticism was that, in this large penthouse suite, there were only three electrical outlets. Fortunately, I brought multiple plug adapters and extension cords. Newly renovated Holland America ships have many more outlets and USB charging ports in their suites --- so cruise ships can provide this if they want. Here is a tip. Be sure to read the Directory in your cabin when you first get there. We waited until the cruise was near its end before reading it. We learned about many desired free things and services that we missed. The Directory also had needed information, for which we had otherwise unnecessarily taken more time to learn from other sources on board. Read Less

The suite's interior was spacious, with lots of closet storage. The bathroom had a separate shower (good size) and tub, as well as separate room with toilet and second sink. The bed was very comfortable. I think our cabin steward came in and straigtened up almost every time we left our room. There was a concierge lounge for suite guests that always had coffee, tea, and snacks available. The sofa was not very comfortable, and the balcony was disappointing. It was quite shallow and missing 2 additional chairs that were supposed to be around the balcony table. It did have 2 chairs with small footrests/tables. Read Less

We enjoyed this cabin very much. Quieter than M723 which we had the week before, and a little more private as you don't have people on the smoking deck above looking over (and dropping ash) on you. Though people on the aft end of Promenade deck can see into your bedroom, but just right by the patio door since they are looking from below. The layout is great and provides more privacy between bedroom and seating area than the midship suites, though it is not as open. The aft balconies vary in size but I think all are bigger than the midship penthouse balcony. We really enjoy having the side section, as you can seek or avoid sun nearly all the time. As mentioned, the balcony furniture needs to be all replaced and is less comfortable than the 'mini suite' furniture. Rusty, dirty, cushions torn, lounges won't recline and 'dining' table too small to use (cocktail size). The only other thing with the suites is that they have a heavy toilet paper roller that is mounted down below and behind your hip. If you just pull the paper, the weight of the holder and its cover are such that you get little tiny bits torn off. The only way to use it is to get both hands to one side below your hip, hold the holder cover up and the roll away from the wall with one hand and pull with the other. Acrobatic certification required. Now this seems a petty thing, but after 2 weeks what I was most looking forward to in going home was to use the toilet WITHOUT a battle to get toilet paper... As above, slightly smaller Penthouse suite and thinner balcony (confirmed by the Future Cruise lady, a more intimate cabin, as she politely called it!), and a slightly different lay out, but nevertheless a suite indeed, Comfortable, spacious and nice aesthetics including some nice art, fresh fruit and flowers, 2 flat screen TV's, large bathroom and shower, and separate bath, no jacuzzi. No noise either side of us, and being on the 14th deck it was handy for the pool, but not so handy for meal time and entertainment, but it helped running up and down the stairs with exercise! As a suite guest, the concierge lounge was literally 10 seconds away, full of pastries, coffee's and juices and light snacks. Nice seating and a TV, and of course the excellent concierge. A great suite perk, shame not available on more ships. Read Less

Cabin was OK the smaller suites on the Royal and Regal take some getting used to. The shower leaked water on to the bathroom floor every time we used it and it was never fixed during the cruise.
