Price gouging every opportunity

The crew staff was great The captain is a rambler and does not till you the truth Food was good but the menu was not extensive changing The ion shore trips are twice the price for the same trip if you pay on board The drinks package was a total rip off as are the bar prices $15 for a beer after a 18% tip and exchange rate. The exchange rate the ship gives you is poor All ...

We did the same cruise this time last year and are quite experienced cruisers, diamond plus. The ship is still quite attractive. Good points—- The Diamond and Concierge club benefits are still good and both hosts efficient The food is acceptable althoughMDR lunches a bit boring. Windjammer probably better for lunch. Breakfasts were good in MDR. The Filipino, Indonesian and Indian staff ...

Worst Trans-ocean Cruise

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

We’ve done many transatlantic and transpacific cruises, most of which offered many activities and good entertainment for the many sea days. Unfortunately, this 18-day transpacific cruise was sorely lacking in both entertainment and enrichments opportunities, and was a boring experience overall. This was made all the worse by inclement weather that forced us to spend a lot of time indoors. And the ...

Ship needs to be retired or refurbished

My husband and I were on the recent reposition cruise from Australia to Honolulu. We usually love RC and are Diamond (now Diamond Plus) members. This ship is in a run down condition. One of the main elevators was not working over half the time causing a log jam at the elevators. In our cabin, the sink was cracked, and hot water was seldom available. Rust was prevalent almost everywhere. ...

Trans-Pacific cruise as ships relocated to US Northwest. Normal RCI quality, i.e. excellent food and quality staff. We we disappointed that Rita’s restaurant has been closed as we used to enjoy sitting out eating guacamole / chips and sharing the grande margarita with friends (it would be nice to be able to get a pitcher of margaritas for sharing but bartender thought it was mitigate ...

No "bravos' for Bravo Cruise - only for the performers!

I went on the Bravo Cruise, to experience the musical entertainment program, including numerous renowned performers, all of whom were absolutely wonderful in every way. I was able to go on this cruise because of the special reductions ofrered in the month prior to sailing. As a solo traveller, it became affordable. However, there were numerous disappointments and overall expectations of the ...

We were advised by our travel agent to take a relocation cruise to enjoy a lot of extra cruising time, plus the bonus of having a few days in Hawaii before flying home. Sounded like a great idea. My daughter and her husband, both aged in their 20s joined us. We had only done one other cruise which was fabulous. Royal Carribbean was sold to us as a 'cut above' and more pitched to adults than ...

Turned us off cruising!

The destinations and sea days appealed to us. Having cruised the radiance many years ago, we had no qualms of using the ship again. Our first encounter with our cabin came as a shock with worn and badly patched curtains and an over all shabbiness. The smell coming from the drains was terrible, our wonderful room steward was unable to help with the smell, the origin of the odour became evident ...

This was a 'performing arts' cruise with a stunning array of talented performers. All performers gave it everything they had and mixed freely with passengers. Unfortunately the joy of experiencing their performances was overshadowed by the need to queue for up to 2 hours for the main theatre to ensure you got a seat, even though you were allocated to that particular show. Passengers were ...

I'm a returning loyal member with Royal Caribbean cruise liner, bringing with me 12 1st time cruiser. I was very disappointed to find the ship to be dated, the cabins had an old musky smell and the toilet/shower smell. Luckily, thanks to cruise critic I did bring along some room freshners. *** Outrageous Onboard Photographer - On the 1st formal night with my newly cruise goers (16 family ...
