Queen-size bed, private balcony, private bathroom with whirlpool tub, double sinks, separate shower and bidet, separate living area with queen-size sofa bed, and concierge service. (512 sq. ft., balcony 57 sq. ft.)
1562 was located toward the rear of the ship, one floor below the Windjammer and a few floors directly above the dining room and specialty restaurants. This was convenient. The ship was not very large, so walking its length to the Auditorium spaces, spa & gym was quite quick. We were, however, always on the opposite side of where the ship docked. If you like privacy, this is great. If you like to gaze out at the port as it approaches. not so great.
With respect to cabin cleanliness, the cabin appeared clean, although aging, but the bathroom greeted us with an unpleasant surprise. One of the cabin's prior occupants had evidently suffered stomach issues leading to soiling of the toilet bowl running from the rim downward. While the rim itself had been cleaned, initial attempts at seating revealed the remaining stain swath underneath the bowl. We did have to ask to have that cleaned. Based on that oversight, we were loath to enjoy the jacuzzi bath, and therefore, did not.
The queen bed separated into two and accommodated my two adult daughters. I slept on the pullout sofa, made up each evening, in relative comfort. An optional drawn curtain was available to separate the two living areas. I used it when I wanted the light on in my area while the girls were asleep. Read entire member review >>
Owner's suite: Loved the layout. Cabin steward did a very nice job. So much storage. Bathroom is huge.
Connecting junior's suite (1560): Huge closet, nice set up with two twin beds for our teens and a seating area with couch and chair. Read entire member review >>
The owners suite had numerous problems.
No hot water for 6 hours on embarkation so showered in cold water as was advised by steward no hot water available but would be soon, ergo 6 hours is soon ?
No magnetic clips on doors or drawers created an unacceptable noise on first night at sea due to doors and drawers opening and closing, so fixed this issue by using cardboard to hold doors and drawers closed.
Balcony sliding door could not be locked and also slid back and forth also and ships maintanance member said this could not be repaired so again used cardboard. Read entire member review >>
Less overhang than most of the full suites that are not on the hump which translates to more light on the balcony and in the cabin. A definite plus in my book.
No noise from Windjammer above. We found it to be a nice, quiet location. Much quieter than our GS under to Solarium on Serenade. Read entire member review >>

If you are looking for an "anything goes" setting, Cruise Critic might not be the place for you. Understand, too, that our community is comprised of folks who LOVE to cruise. It therefore stands to reason that they will have a favorite cruise line or port of call -- in other words, they are "fans" and will sometimes take offense when a brand new member has arrived on the scene to bash a cruise line.
