Ocean View Balcony (2D) Cabin Reviews

I'm pretty sure that no matter where the dial was for the bathroom fan, it was always on. Couldn't hear it while sleeping though. Read Less

There are no cabins with restricted views but be aware that most of the cabins in the middle of the ship overlook a white canopy that covers the lifeboats. Deck seven is immediately above this and you cannot look down to the ocean. Also, the glare of this canopy in bright sunshine is almost unbearable. Cabins are small with woodwork now displaying chips and dings from age! The bathroom is also small and has a shower curtain that comes with the inevitable flooding problem! Read Less

As mentioned, being our first cruise it's a little hard to know if it was good or bad? It was certainly clean and the stateroom attendant (Eka) did his job well. The bed was very comfortable. We found towards the end of the cruise you couldn't use the balcony because of the salt wash covering the railings, chairs etc. The TV channels were terrible. I mean REALLY terrible, whoever decided that Sky News was the best news option to represent Australia need to be drawn and quartered. The shower was very small and did take some getting used to. Another odd thing was the cabin creaked all the time. I think the noises came from the old timber cabinetry but I'm not 100% sure. Level 9 was a good height and I'd certainly recommend the level, but maybe a little more toward mid ship. Read Less

This cabin has an extra large balcony. It is also the last cabin before the aft cabins, so you get a nice long walk every time you go to your room, thereby allowing you to eat more!

Excellent cabin, good size, lots of storage space, good layout. Bathroom was a good size, nice cupboard area and well-ventilated. Good privacy on balcony. Cabin steward was one of the best we've ever had.

Cabin was spacious, with lots of storage space, more than enough for all our gear. As usual, we had to ask for more hangers, but our stateroom attendant (Boren Franover) was wonderful at getting us the hangers, as well as an ice bucket and extra pillows. He was also top-notch at keeping everything super-clean and tidy, complete with those cute towel animals at night. The decor of the entire ship, including the staterooms is dated, but everything was clean and we were totally satisfied with our cabin. The balconies did show some signs of rust, but that's the only flaw we could see. Read Less
