Thoughts on QV 316, Northern Spain & France
"We did have one Lido breakfast on a port day (from the lovely omelette station) and one room service breakfast, otherwise, as late risers when on holiday, we started the day with coffee in the bar of the Chart Room, one of our favourite rituals.Cabin & Ship Condition Our cabin was in very good nick - no noticeable scrapes, scuffs or stains - or at least any that bothered us...."Read More

Pros: Booking in and boarding ship was very well organised, and we had no issues. Elegant ship in good repair with all of the facilities you would wish for. Excellent food at all levels and entertainment which caters for all. Cabin steward was attentive efficient and friendly. Public areas very clean and Queens Room especially very elegant and used a lot for dancing and concerts. Theater ...

This one week cruise, from 18-25 June, was our first since the autumn of 2019, when we were also on Queen Victoria. Itinerary This included four ports- La Coruña, Gijón, Bilbao and Cherbourg - and 2 sea days. The itinerary is being repeated later in the summer. The ports were all new to us - we didn’t do any tours, just stayed and explored locally. These were all pleasant places to spend ...

We booked a guarantee obstructed view cabin. Never again. We were allocated cabin 4076. This was right over the state of the Queen's ballroom. The noise started every night at eight and continued till half twelve. Loud base beat and music vibrated wall and floor. Only suitable if you like to stay up late. Food was very good and plenty of choice. Entertainment was excellent particularly on ...

Are Cunard standards dropping?

Great itinerary from Venice to Rome, with two sea days which we also enjoy. First port was Rijeka, Croatia, it was a Sunday and nothing was open. Not an overly interesting place but then we didn't explore very far. Dubrovnik and Kotor were both a delight to visit but very busy. Our last stop was Naples and we made our way by taxi to Pompeii, which is the most wonderful, fascinating place but much ...

This cruise was a part of Imagine Cruises Orient Express package-including Lake Garda and Florence. The other elements were fantastic but I will concentrate on the included 7 night cruise in this review. We have done a number of cruises previously mainly with Celebrity and RCI so have a fair idea about cruising. Our transfer from Florence to Civitavecchia went without problem and we were on board ...

As an experienced cruiser with Cunard (34 cruises) I feel able to comment, Firstly I was travelling in Princess Grill. The cabin was fine albeit needing a new carpet or at least a good wash, the attendant was helpful and a good worker The ship itself was clean and tidy in all public areas and a credit to the brand The shops whilst shiny held a lacklustre stock but had a friendly staff to ...

Previously sailed on various P & O cruises but over the years their service and cut backs has put us off so we had heard from friends that Cunard was better. We love dressing up and the four formal evenings are what we wanted. They insist on smart dress on all other nights, men wear jackets to dinner. Again we haven’t a problem with this. However, what we do object to is 15% surcharge on all ...

Excellent cruise let down by high drink prices

All aspects of embarkation, room, public areas on board ship were excellent. The only thing that let the ship down was the extortionate charges for drinks and other amenities on board. In the first instance, the daily “service charge” for a couple is $23 per day (current exchange rate £1.27) which amounts to £18.11 x 14 night cruise amounts to £253.54. Then everything purchased on board is levied ...

A nice New Years Eve cruise.

We sailed over New Year’s Eve, out of Southampton, with family & friends. This was our first time on Cunard. Windstar, by far, remains my favorite. We stayed 2 nights pre-cruise in London, it was a good choice. The ride to Southampton was almost 2 hours. Embarkation was smooth and trouble free. The ship itself was very nice. It was a bit glamorous and was still decorated for the ...

Our 1st New Year celebration cruise

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Queen Victoria

This was the first time for us to take a New Year cruise. We had high expectations and have cruised Cunard more than 10 times. The ship had been remodelled since our last cruise (Oct 16) and was looking swell. We knew that it would be cold and the weather would be changeable but we caught the storm Eileen in full flow. I thought that the portions in the Britannia dining room were definitely ...
