Just come back from one of the best Cruises we have ever been on.We decided to try a new Cruise line for our Journey to Norway and Iceland and went with "Cunard" Queen Victoria.Having never been with Cunard we were a bit apprehensive especially about the more Formal side of the Cruise. Embarkation at Southampton was the quickest we have ever done, from getting off the Coach to stepping onto the ...

Brilliant Intro to Cruising

Review for Queen Victoria to Europe - British Isles & Western

Travelling solo, I was nervous of cruising but this trip converted me. A wonderful time at sea and on shore, and a delicious atmosphere of restrained elegance. I loved it all - even my little inside cabin! The food was excellent, so much to do if one felt like it, or great days spent in an armchair reading. We had port calls two out of every three days so there were not so many quiet sea days ...

Awesome Cruise

Review for Queen Victoria to Europe - Western Mediterranean

Expected a top of the line cruise and for the best part not dissapointed. On par with Celebrity cruises that we have done in the past. Having to dress up with a Jacket every night after 6pm got a little tiresome especially when it ruined a 20s Dress up night. If you love Ballroom dancing this is the cruise for you. Food is great even in the Buffet restaurant. The abundance of ...

We have cruised with P & O, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Fred Olson and Thomson and this was our 8th cruise and as Cunard are regarded as the number one in the cruise ship ratings we were looking forward to our 5 night New Years Cruise to Bruge, Amsterdam and Cherbourg. We had just checked into our cabin when a tannoy announcement from the Commodore of the ship informed us we wouldn't be visiting ...

Our 1st New Year celebration cruise

Review for Queen Victoria to Europe - All

This was the first time for us to take a New Year cruise. We had high expectations and have cruised Cunard more than 10 times. The ship had been remodelled since our last cruise (Oct 16) and was looking swell. We knew that it would be cold and the weather would be changeable but we caught the storm Eileen in full flow. I thought that the portions in the Britannia dining room were definitely ...

Fantastic Christmas Cruise

Review for Queen Victoria to Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

My partner had done the QM2 Transatlantic but I had never cruised before so it was all new to me and I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. We had a wonderful time on the Queen Victoria over Christmas last year, i'd thoroughly recommend it for anyone looking to get away over the festive period. We chose a deluxe inside on deck 1 and were very pleased with our cabin. There was plenty of hanging ...

Xmas market cruise "but not as we know it"

Having sailed from Southampton many times we were a bit surprised to find a tail back with CPS parking at the Ocean terminal. The weather caused a certain amount of anxiety amongst those travelling from a far and to make sure they never missed their time or indeed the ship they left in plenty of time, only to find the roads clear and turning up hours before embarkation time. But once inside and ...

Beautiful ship, average staff

Review for Queen Victoria to Baltic Sea

This was our 9th cruise, but the first with Cunard. We had high expectations, having cruised with Princess, P&O and RCI we expected Cunard to perhaps be a cut above. Unfortunately that was not the case, let down by poor customer service. We drove ourselves to Southampton and handed over 2 perfectly good working order suitcases, by the time we got to our cabin after over an hour and a half wait, ...

First Timers on a Cunard Ship

This is the first time we have every cruised on a Cunard ship. We have been on others thought so can compare. We did a five day Big Band Dance Cruise Southampton, Brugges, Amsterdam and Cherbourg. Fabulous, from the time we got to embarkation until we stepped off this morning. Such a warm welcoming ship. The food in the main restaurant and the Lido Buffet was superb, the staff couldn't have ...

Second time on Queen Victoria and not disappointed!

Review for Queen Victoria to Europe - Western Mediterranean

3 couples chose this cruise as an Autumn getaway-3 nights in Barcelona booked separately and then 9 nights cruising back to Blighty. Initially the political situation worried us but our 4 days in the city were trouble free and most enjoyable. 6 of us squeezed into a taxi for the journey to the port Saturday morning. Embarkation wasn't the quickest but we were on board for lunch and cabins were ...
