Review for a South America Cruise on Queen Victoria

What a difference a year makes. Early 2016, Queen Victoria, Fort Lauderdale to San Francisco via the Panama Canal, great cruise, great service, could not wait to book a cruise on this vessel for 2017. Early 2017 Rio to Valparaiso. Apart from being on the same vessel just about everything else was just plain bad. It started in Rio, took three hours to check in and the chaos had to be seen ...

Desire to visit the listed countries in South America and good experience in the past with Cunard . Cunard and imagine cruises got my name wrong and despite numerous attempt to correct this up to 6 weeks before the trip commenced. Air tickets Transfers etc. We're all issued in the wrong name. Hence I'm having difficulty claiming my frequent flyer points with B.A. And other connected ...

A good holiday, but not great.

This cruise (our first with Cunard) was sold to us as a luxury cruise. I think there is a difference between luxury and tradition and I don't mean traditional in the sense of cruising in it's 'glory days' but traditional as in, how the world views the UK. Formal, polite, good table manners, royalists etc. There's no doubt it's a beautiful ship and Cunard as a company has a very interesting and ...

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Queen Victoria

We got on board Cunard Queen Victoria for 5 nights Channel Cruise in Nov 2017, we asked and got upgraded from inside cabin to a balcony cabin, for £150. Inside cabin was ok but very noisy with no windows and just a bed but balcony is fantastic in comparison, there is a sofa and table & a balcony with 2 chairs and a table. The bed is soooo comfortable with more comfortable pillows. Wardrobe space ...

Evening entertainment in theatre is very poor. Lame acts like juggler and acrobat

We chose this cruise for the price and a getaway before Christmas. I heard Cunard was a five star liner but was very disappointed with evening entertainment in theatre.Entertainment somewhat dated and needs more live acts. Some of the entertainment included a juggler (failed acts from Britain's Got Talent) and retired comedian. The theatre group were poor and singing dreadful. Come on Queen ...

Wonderfully good and shockingly bad - don't believe the Cunard hype.

This was our first cruise and probably our last and never with Cunard again. We chose Cunard on reputation, one that we found is not all it seems. It was a paradox. Both excellent and dreadful. We stayed in a Queens Suite with the accompanying Queens Grill. This was excellent and without fault. The butlers and waiters were a delight - nothing was too much trouble. The plush sun beds, ...

Lots of positives on this elegant ship but...

We specifically chose this cruise because of the Itinerary. However over the two weeks on board we had 8 changes to the Itinerary. We understand that safety is important but perhaps cruise organisers need to have alternatives in place that equal the original destinations. Sarande in Albania was a total waste and overall we ended up with an extra sea day - this is wrong. The ship is ...

2016 not 1916; outdated elegance for those who want to pay for it.

A 40th wedding anniversary celebration. Transfer to port from airport too long and no water available on the coach. Arrived at port and sent to the ships pub for lunch! After lunch our cabin already had suitcases outside the stateroom. Great. Cabin was adequate we had booked late due to husbands recent operation, so there were no balcony cabins available. Britannia restaurant was ...

We embarked on the Queen Victoria in Venice after spending a few days of our honeymoon in a delightful little hotel. What annoyed us the most about the embarkation process was the fact that there was absolutely no communication, help or advice from Cunard about how we should find the ship! We saw a Cunard tender boat and assumed we could hop on and board ship this way, but we were told we had to ...

June 9th to 23rd Princess Grill Suite. First I must say that all of our travel arrangements were made through Cunard. Their air and pre-hotel package were included so this review encompasses more than just our cruise portion. We have cruised with Cunard before on a 24 day 2 way Transatlantic and around Britain cruise 5 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Since then we have been cruising ...
