Dare To Dream....................We did!

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Queen Victoria

A trip on Cunard had been on my bucket list for some time, after recently losing a couple of close friends way to early in their lives we decided it was time to start to realise some of our dreams before it was too late. As DH was very apprehensive about Cunard being too 'posh' and 'stuffy' we decide on short 7nt cruise on QV to the Fjords (QV221) long enough to warrant the long slog down south to ...

A short trip to Mull and back

We arrived at about 2pm ready for our boarding time of 2.15. It was a very smooth embarkation and we were on board by 2.30. To say the ship has just had a refit, I noticed some of the carpets needed to be replaced. Other than that everything seems to be up to the usual standard. It was nice to see that most of the facilities were open again. The service in all of the bars and the ...

Almost back to normal

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Queen Victoria

I chose this cruise to use my remaining credit, just a week to the Norwegian Fjords and although I've been before, I hadn't visited Alesund or Haugesund previously. The weather in Bergen was atrocious, pouring with rain and blowing a gale, but after that the weather was very pleasant, with blue sky and warm sun the last 2 days. Embarkation was very quick, as no testing was required at the port ...

Third time on Victoria and still good

We chose Victoria again as it was going to Rio de Janeiro including a long trip along the Amazon. We started from Southampton and flew back from Rio. The ship carried on finally returning to Southampton. On board all food in the Britannia, Lido and Verandah restaurants was excellent. Staff service in all areas was also excellent. The ship's condition was very good overall and for those yet to ...

A mini cruise to celebrate my wifes 65th Birthday on her favourite ship. CPS were as usual first class, luggage and car whisked away in an instant. Booking in and embarkation was faultless,10 minutes from entering booking hall to being on the ship. Suite 7030 was really nice, the only disappointment was that due to our late booking Guarantee Suites only were available and we were allocated ...

Pretty calm in the Bay of Biscay

After a slightly stressful summer holiday we booked this 10 night cruise for a relaxing time and to try out Cunard. Embarkation at Southampton was easy and we were on board in time for lunch in the golden lion pub. We were incredibly lucky with the weather as for the whole cruise the seas were fairly calm, for November and December in the bay of biscay and near Portugal and southern ...

Hail to the Queen

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Queen Victoria

Chose this cruise as we love all the dancing aboard Cunard lines. This was our second, the first being 17 days on Queen Elizabeth. Had not been to the Canary Islands so it was a good fit. We had an ocean view as compared to a balcony last time and all was well. Room steward was great as always and room was clean and comfortable. Could not see the difference in cost being worth it on this 12 ...

Queen Victoria Baltic Highlights July 2019

We chose this cruise because it was going somewhere we always wanted to visit. Also, we got a Queens Grill cabin for the price of a balcony, so the value was there. With the included drinks package, we thought we had gotten a great deal. We sailed from Hamburg on July 16th, our first day being a sea day. The ship is very pretty, but a bit tired. Could use some sprucing up. The carpets were ...

Baltic on the Queen Victoria, May 2019

Chose this cruise as it visited Visby, Klaipeda and Oslo, which we had not been to before, plus some old favourites like Skagen, Copenhagen and Kristiansand. A 16 night cruise with 5 formal nights and plenty of sea days. (To be honest we would have happily missed St Petersburg as every Baltic cruise goes there and there is a limit to what you can do) We've travelled on the QV several times ...

Victoria is a great ship, but standards are slipping....

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Queen Victoria

Our cruise was a 14 day Baltic Sea sailing 28th April 2019. We have sailed on Queen Victoria many times, but sadly our recent cruise to the Baltic will likely be our last on this ship. The embarkation, the service, the food, the elegance and the general ambience on the ship plus the choice of shore excursions were all as we have come to expect, excellent. But there were a couple of issues ...
