The cabin was a penthouse suite which was spacious but the balcony was thin and narrow - too narrow to sit and enjoy. We were led to believe there would be butler service. There was none...! Very disappointing. The 'butler' was an ordinary (not very good) steward who was invisible most of the time. A bottle of champagne was left but no strawberries as promised. We were not shown how to operate the curtains or anything else in the room. Read entire member review >>
Super spacious, lots of storage room with a walk-in closet. Big bathroom with double sink and jacuzzi tub-shower. Pretty carpeting and decorations. Poor utilization of the square footage as sleeping area and sitting area are altogether and there is no good place to sit to eat a meal. Read entire member review >>
Our cabin was mid ship, deck 9 across from the Concierge Lounge. Great location with the Commodore Club forward not such a long walk.
It had a walk in closet plus a coat closet and we had plenty of room for all our clothes.
The bed was extremely comfortable along with an assortment of pillows. The linens were the best soft and smooth. Big flat screen tv with excellent reception. A lounge and two side chairs, coffee table and desk. The vanity out side the bathroom had very, very poor lighting with no magnifying mirror and it was difficult to apply makeup or contacts.
Even once the butler brought me a magnifying mirror the lighting was so awkward and dim it really didn't help.
Also if you put a chair at the vanity it was difficult to get through to the bathroom as you would have to manipulate around the chair and squeeze your way into the bathroom. Water pressure and temperature in shower was excellent. We always had fresh towels and the bath towels are nice and big. Balcony above the life boats was a bit distracting just seeing the tops of the boats but the new chairs with cushions were comfortable. Everything was always kept sparkling clean!!!!!!! Very large, great bed, comfortable sitting area, bathtub. Overall very nice, but given ship was just refurbished, there were some missed opportunities. Large counter area, but just one sink and no makeup mirror; no lamp next to the "comfiest" chair, so you can't use it to read; no reading lights by the bed (lamps don't really shine on your book). No sink or running water in the "kitchenette". Décor was bland for my taste, but in keeping with the entire ship (bland décor, bland food, boring entertainment...). Read entire member review >>
Main elements were clean, in good order and spacious. Bathroom had broken tiles, holes drilled in tiles and a scruffy Jacuzzi bath. Toiletries were not always maintained and we had to leave notes to get replacements. Fruit similarly was not always maintained and we had to ask for replenishments. Read entire member review >>
We had my wife and two teenage daughters in the room. It was tight but manageable as there was a changing area with a curtain. The bathroom was full size with a tube (rare). Plenty of room.
Large balcony with two deck chairs loved it.
TV was small and not clear Read entire member review >>
Our cabin was a lovely haven, very comfortable and spacious with an amazing amount of storage. The bed was comfortable, the lighting good for applying make-up, and the service excellent. Cabin cleanliness and amenities were all good.
Could have wished for a larger TV - we watched mostly news, the bridge cam, and lecture rebroadcasts - and it would have been lovely to have either a selection of music channels or the ability to hook up an iPod or iPad for in-cabin music.
The weather was quite windy most of the crossing so not much chance to use the balcony, but on the one perfect balcony day our cabin steward has the cushions out on the deck chairs immediately without our having to request it. Read entire member review >>
Great port side cabin. Near the stairwell so very easy access to the Queen's Grill and Lounge. Very well equipped. Check with your butler that it has everything it is supposed to have i.e. Champagne stopper as Cunard will charge you if is missing at the end of the trip. Good size balcony above the boat deck - this cabin looks out over the sea rather than over the lifeboats. Read entire member review >>
Queens Grill is a wonderful experience with the best of the best service and special extras. The rooms are large and the storage plentiful for your clothes and cases. The Queens Grill Restaurant is superb as is the cuisine. We were on deck which I believe has only Queen level rooms (perhaps a few Princess). If we had an opportunity to do this trip again, we would take this same level of voyage. Read entire member review >>
Q5 Queens Grill suite 11130, the very last stateroom aft of deck 11 on the port side (right beside the grills terrace) There are only 4 Queens Grill suites on this deck, all aft and I must say the location is fantastic, much better than deck 9 (the Queens Grill suite deck), the view is high and unobstructed. We find the suites on deck 9 rather silly as they are only one level above the life boats which really take away from the view. The layout of the suite is much like that of a Princess Grill suite, but larger with more room to move around, a larger bar area, larger balcony, larger seating area and an extra area with a dressing table just outside the walk in wardrobe before entering the bathroom. The bathroom itself features a shower over Jacuzzi bath set up with one basin. I believe for the extra price Queens Grill guests are charged, the bathroom really should feature a separate bath and shower and also feature two basins. The suite is large enough to accommodate a bathroom layout like that so I'm unsure as to why they didn't design it that way. On closer inspection, the suite was a little tired. A few globes were out, some scuffs on the walls here and there, down lights not fixed into the ceiling properly, rust on the balcony, a dripping pipe above the balcony which dripped down onto one of the deck chairs (duct tape had been used to try stop the dripping pipe) and two cushions on the bed which smelt as if they hadn't been washed in years. Nothing too major, but keep in mind the premium price Cunard charges for this type of suite. Wifi also doesn't work in this suite. A great room but still a few little issues. Personal butler services - excellent and attentive - Layout and amenities - very good.As stated previously - I believe QM2 would benefit from in-room entertainment systems of the ilk used by modern airlines such as Emirates and Cathay. Read entire member review >>
Our cabin was a Queen's Grill suite. The location was good, but it was a long walk down the hall. I prefer a room that is closer to a stairway. We did not have this option when we booked. The size was very comfortable, probably two, maybe three times the size of an average balcony cabin. It had a sofa, large chair, desk and desk chair. There is also a large countertop/bar area with a china cabinet and two shelves with books. The TV, as everyone says, is not in a good location. It was on the desk, making it too far from the sofa and from the bed. But, there are no decent channels to watch anyway. The best thing about this room is the walk-in closet. It has two walls of hanging space and one stack of large dresser drawers, in addition to a shelf above that goes all the way around the closet. There is also a dressing table in the entrance area to the bath. There is a bathtub with shower (a big plus because it is not so narrow), large sink area, making it double the size of the average bathroom. Read entire member review >>
The Queens Grill Suite was not impressive and needed a freshen up, the grouting in the tiles in the shower were discolored and missing, the Vanity lighting (VIP) was poor. No magnifying mirror, I had to use tape to keep the shower head in place. Don't even try to use the cheapest cotton buds you have ever seen, they break as you pick them up.
The Butler was was looking tired when he did our orientation (with couple next door so he wouldn't have to repeat himself), possibly needs tipped at the start although we didn't. No i pod dock which is in the brochure and he didn't know what I was talking about when I asked where the pillow concierge was (also in brochure but not available).
Too cold and windy on Balcony but plenty room, horizontal view excellent (remember is does not change for 6 days), looking down only lifeboats.
Perfect position for the Concierge lounge which we used all the time for coffee, cakes and cards (they don't serve coffee in the suites). The Concierge Henry was excellent. Not close to launderettes, which are very busy on the first day and there are only 3 irons in total between them. No irons allowed in suite.
Overall not what we expected from it's reputation, certainly not 5 star (probably need to go to Grand Duplex for that).
Someone had said the new owners Carnival have dropped the service and standards to make it more profitable. Read entire member review >>
Q5 Queens Grill ist very spaceous, but bathtub with jacuzzi has very high walls. A proper shower would be more welcomed.
Partially redigned decoration will not match with furniture, details are taken away for cost cuttings.
Canapees are daily supplied, but obviously days old.
Rooms service is efficient and free.
The "Butler" is rather a joke as it is more or less a perfect cabin steward, not more. Read entire member review >>
Suite 9031 is well-placed at midships on the starboard side, opposite the Concierge Lounge. It is also very close to stairwell B and elevators. These features make the suite feel very central and convenient. I especially enjoyed being able to dart across the hall for a cup of tea, a snack, or a newspaper. The room itself was spotless and well maintained, although it did show a few signs of minor wear and tear. Read entire member review >>
very spacious, large entry area with mirror and wall lights, cupboard with extra hanging space and shelves, safe, granite tops on cupboards, beautiful glass display case with plenty of glasses for all tastes.
good bed, king size, very comfy pillows and new duvet, flat panel Sharp TV, good size desk with reading lamp.
Walk in robe with good selection of hangers, plenty of drawers/shelves, separate vanity area with large mirror and built in hair dryer.
Bathroom has toilet set at one end behind a half wall, good size vanity unit with plenty of storage, very large spa bath, good quality hand held shower, easy to use taps, large towels and good toiletries.
Balcony had two teak lounge chairs and small table.
These suites were just above the life boats, but this didn't cause any problems with views etc.
this room had a connecting door but we heard no noise thru it, the rooms seem very well insulated. Read entire member review >>
Well appointed suite with a large balcony. The walk in wardrobe was large with plenty of shelves and storage space.
The sofa and other furniture was a good size and comfortable, the bed was one of the best I have ever slept on in any hotel.
The bar was well stocked with soft drinks and alcohol.
Nothing to complain about simply wonderful Read entire member review >>
Spacious, large balcony with real deck chairs, nice bar, lots of closet space, full bathroom jaccuzzi tub, QS bed comfortable, quiet location on 9 deck, good views of the sea. Butler included but did not use him, he did bring canapes each day. Read entire member review >>
Queens Grill suites offer amazing quality and space. There was no problem with storage even though, as bllroom dance fanatics, we bring a lot of luggage and footwear. The Butler service was excellent and the balcony a more than adequate size. Read entire member review >>
