20 Day cruise from Barcelona to Singapore via Suez Canal
The Queen Elizabeth is a decent cruise ship and we had a room (although tiny shower cubicle) and balcony, but like many US owned Cruise lines costs on board are significant eg -
Average to poor wifi £18 per day, drinks package £65 each per day (need to have for whole cruise), wine from £35 per bottle, G & T around £12, beer around £7. ...
We choose this cruise as a treat for my 50th birthday and choose to book for 14 nights,we booked a spacious deluxe inside room on a saver fare, two weeks before we sailed we were told that we had been ‘upgraded’ to an outside smaller footage room, when we looked at the room online not only was it smaller but had a tender boat completely blocking the window, after almost an hour on the phone we were ...
Ideal cruise for a winter break, but we were not informed of the much reduced recreational facilities before we boarded. On board costs are eye-wateringly expensive, but staff were friendly and attentive. However, some staff had self modified face masks, which were open at the bottom. Also, the dining room tables were too close and the Theatre seats had little social distancing. Our only ship ...
This was our first Cunard cruise, having been on more than 10 cruises with Celebrity and Princess. The Cunard cache lured us into trying them. We were impressed by the Princes grill, we liked the restaurant and private decks available to us.Service in these areas was very good. There was no need to reserve sunbeds which was great.
We noticed that the overall condition of the Queen Elizabeth ...
Whilst this was a short cruise to Belgium I do wonder if Cunard are even bothered about missed opportunities with "new to the brand" cruisers. We are 'suite' cruisers 2-3 times a year and in our 40's, surely a demographic the company might be keen to impress for our future cruise dollars?
As Queens Grill guests we were allowed to the front of the line but very little else to impress or ...
This is the first time we (a group of 20 seniors) cruised on one of the "Queen" ships and after hearing our friend's positive ratings on the Queen Mary, we were really looking forward to some good times on the QE. The embarkation process was swift and efficient.
The staff was friendly and informative. So a good start to the cruise.
When we reached our cabin, the room steward dropped by ...
We chose this cruise for its itinerary and that it sailed from Southampton so no flying. Embarkation was seamless and our bags arrived promptly. The Cabin was fine (7090 balcony). On deck seven midship. The bathroom was small especially the shower with a cheap curtain. Bed was very comfortable and our cabin steward was great and saw to our every need. We had trouble with the air conditioning in ...
We also left San Francisco 2/5/18 for Sydney on Q2. The Itinerary was great, the Ship clean, and the crew professional. However, with a number of 4-5 day stretches at sea, one would expect some professional entertainment and varied daytime activities. During the day your choice was basically the library, a very small pool, or boring lectures. At night, the entertainment was dull and amateurish. To ...
We chose this cruise having previously travelled with celebrity and expecting the Cunard name to be synonymous with quality.
It seems that the name Cunard was acquired but most of the quality of service and cache associated with the name was lost.
The buffet food was excellent but in all honesty was the only area other than the general style of the ship, that came even close to surpassing ...
Chose this cruise because I wanted to be in Madeira for the firework display and to spend Christmas on board.
Service was very poor, the staff looked tired and everything was an effort.
The food in the Lido buffet was not replenished fast enough, e.g. when one quarter of tomato is sitting alone in the tray it should have been replaced before it got that low.
I had to ask for cuttlery in ...
