"First we presented our cruise card to a HAL person who scanned it, then formed two lines that went quick, fast and in a hurry to one of two Immigration agents who looked at your passport as you walked by, then to another HAL employee who put a sticker on the back of your cruise card. From the time we carded off the ship, getting luggage and in the taxi on our way to the airport was less then 10 minutes...."Read More

1-10 of 27 Holland America Line Zuiderdam Cruise Reviews for Family to Canada & New England from Quebec City
Zuiderdam Boston to Quebec City b2b Quebec City to Boston 8/26/2023-9/92023
My wife and I have over fifty cruises and our favorite cruise lines are, in no particular order, Holland America, Princess and Celebrity. We would not turn down a Royal Caribbean or Carnival if the timing and itinerary were to our liking. We chose the b2b Boston-Quebec-Boston for a two week get away aboard ...
I just want to add a more positive note over any bad or poor reviews that have been posted about the Holland America Zuiderdam. Unfortunately many CC writers believe that when people want to know what they think, they only write the negative. We had a lovely Canada & New England cruise ending in Ft. Lauderdale after 2 sea days. The slim shipboard theater entertainment was more than ...
Typically cruise on Princess but wanted to try this due to itinerary. Hard not to compare Princess against Holland America. On the positive side we like the larger bathroom. Also the staff is great. On the not so positive side: The ship itself is old and is not well maintained compared to Princess ships except for cabins. Too much up selling in all areas. For example, Consistently being asked if ...
We had 3 choices for this itinerary from Canada to Ft. Lauderdale (inc. Zaandam from Montreal & either Zuiderdam or RCL AOS from QC), but we chose the Zuiderdam because of its sail date that would allow us to spend my wife's birthday with our friends in Quebec City. We are 3 star Mariners on HAL and will probably stop there and not choose HAL again when compared to the significantly better ...
We went early and explore Quebec City before the cruise. Our hotel-Hotel Le Priori was centrally located and we walked everywhere. Go the the L'Oriyin restaurant which offered organic and local food.
The pier was just two blocks away from our hotel and we walked to the ship on embarkation day. The ship was nice and clean with lots of space for quiet reading and sitting. However, there were ...
Booked this cruise because of the itinerary. I live in Florida and look forward to seeing the change of seasons. This fall cruise from Quebec to Ft.. Lauderdale had lots of change of scenery and weather. I was unprepared for the snow that fell in Quebec during October; however, it was light and delightful for this Floridian. From snow to the shores of Florida -- lots of change of ...
This is a great cruise itinerary. I highly recommend it, even though rough seas kept us from visiting Prince Edward Island.
Of course, the staff on the ship are great. Cruise ship staff never cease to amaze me. We like this size ship; not super small, but not huge.
The food was wonderful. I love the big salad bowls in the Lido. We had friendly and attentive staff in the dining room. ...
Just completed sailing on the Holland America Zuiderdam October 12th to 22nd, 12 day Atlantic Coast beginning in Quebec City, Canada to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This was our 11th cruise and first time with HAL. We are 2 couples in our early 60's and have travelled extensively world wide. We generally choose cruises based more on the itinerary than a particular cruise line. This one offered 9 ...
Chose this cruise because it stopped in Canaveral and we could disembark there rather than going to FLL. Other than that, the ports were pretty ordinary - Princess had better ports from Quebec to FLL and would have taken Princess except for the preferred disembarkation at Canaveral. We did lose a whole day by doing that. We were forced to disembark at 7:45. They did take our bags to the gates, so ...
We had never been to Canada. We live in Florida so this longer cruise was perfect, we only had to fly one way. We love to travel on Holland America Lines, so the fact that Zuiderdam was due for an interior face lift did not bother us. We know and love their standards, so could put up with a few chips and rips.
The Crew was wonderful, always helpful & Roxan in the Ocean Bar is the Best Waiter on ...
