Classic Canada & New England; Ruby Princess 10 night

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Ruby Princess

Background Information The Canada/New England itinerary had been on our to-do list for several years. We chose this particular sailing because it started in Quebec City, and we really wanted to spend time there pre-cruise (instead of NYC). It also offered more stops in Canada than New England, though it did have the tradeoff of Saguenay/Gaspe vs Saint John NB (which didn't work out too well for ...

This is the second time taking this cruise. The first time was on the Ruby's sister ship, Crown Princess. These ships carry a little over 3000 passengers and I suspect the Ruby was full. Our flights from home took most of the day and we didn't reach the ship until 11:30pm. Luckily we had another day in Quebec City, which is a lovely city with many sights to see within walking distance of the ship ...

Due to airline issues, we arrived in Quebec City a day late (Princess was in port over night), but when we arrived the second day, we were hustled through embarkation very quickly. This was a great way to start our association with Princess. If you get a chance to go to Saguenay on your northeastern cruise, do it. It's a great little fjord city that goes out of its way to make you feel welcome. ...

Busy cruise with 2 missed ports

Having cruised with several other cruiselines (Oceania, Celebrity, HAL, NCL, MSC) we like to rate a new experience against them. We experienced Princess on this cruise as much better then HAL, NCL and MSC (which are all considerable cheaper), slightly less then Celebrity but uncomparible to Oceania (which -hover- is slightly more expensive). Embarkation and debarkation: no problem at all. Very ...

I highly recommend taking a Canadian cruise in October - the weather is refreshing and the colors fantastic! The Ruby Princess served us well. We enjoyed the spread of food and the Canadian ports. Disappointments were that it was too windy for the tender boats to get to either Saguenay or Gaspe (the ports we were most excited to see!) - and we felt that the opportunities offered by the ship for ...
