Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Canadian Empress

We choose this particular itinerary and cruise to see the Fall colors of the St Lawrence River. We boarded the ship for a round trip adventure out of Kingston, Ontario and our cruise did not disappoint. The Cruise Director and staff went out of their way to insure the comfort and pleasure of the guests was first and foremost. We were well fed with fresh meals and ingredients three times daily and ...

Interesting itinerary but poor cabins

This cruise was included as part of a larger tour. The boat was small and cabins were miniscule, including two small beds with drawers underneath for storage (no closets) and a tiny bathroom which was a combined toilet and shower. The bathroom smelled like the worst port-a-potty, and we had to sleep with the cabin windows open just to avoid the smell. Staff was pleasant, entertainment was fun ...

Bail Before You Sail

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Pearl Mist

We chose this cruise based on the destination and the advertising. The destination was perfect. The advertising was a lie. We were told the ship would be at a berth totally different from where, after one hour of research, we finally found the ship. We were not welcomed on board except by one surely individual who demanded we surrender our passports. That's it. No one to assist or direct ...

My wife and I had always wanted to go to New England and see the fall colors. This cruise was suggested to us by some friends with whom we have traveled many times over the years. When we looked the trip up on line we discovered that the price was very high, and so just assumed that this must be a luxury cruise, which appealed to us. Our mistake. Next time we will certainly do more research ...

A challenging cruise with rough seas and missed ports of call

My husband and I chose this cruise as we had previously toured the area in the late 1990's via two road trips and decided that we'd enjoy viewing it again from the water with fall foliage in its prime. Unfortunately Hurricane Michael decided to disappoint us with rough seas and rain through out our cruise, causing us to miss 3 of the 9 ports (Baie-Comeau, Halifax, & Bar Harbor) on our scheduled ...

NOT a Luxury Cruise!

We chose it because we had never been on an expensive luxury cruise before and wanted to treat ourselves. We liked that we could relax and be served at each meal and not have to deal with buffet lines. I was picturing outstanding gourmet meals in a lovely dining room with creative menus and desserts. Instead what we got at each meal was diner food. For instance when offered a seafood salad ...

Perfect Cruise!

I prefer to cruise rivers in the USA. This cruise was the St. Lawrence Seaway in Canada, and the eastern coast of the US. The cruise was outstanding! The ports of call were very unique, beautiful, and very accommodating. Cruising on a smaller ship is so preferable to larger ships. First of all, smaller ports are accessible and beautiful. The towns are not overwhelmed by the number of ...

Beautiful scenery

We chose this cruise due to location and an opportunity to combine it with a stay in the old walled part of Quebec City. The boat is modeled after a river steamboat of the early 1900s and is architecturally interesting. The cabins are tiny with no storage other than three very small drawers [one under one of the bunk beds] and the other two in a small night table, as well as the floor space ...

Disgusting accommodation

The accommodation was dilapidated, cramped and odourous. We were instructed to leave the bathroom fan on at all times, for room ventilation, hence a roaring sound from the fan and air conditioning, the entire trip. In addition there was a constant roar from the engines, which seemed to be located under our cabin. There was no seating provided in the cabin other than a hard folding chair, or the ...

Wonderful Service

Like the company and the destination, and smaller cruise lines. The service and concern for our safety was outstanding. The food and wines and appetizers were outstanding. The commarraderie among the staff was evidence that they liked working for their managers. They treated us with utmost of respect. The ports visited were beautiful and time in port good, weather conditions pending. ...
