Still waiting for the "WOW"

My wife and I booked this cruise with my boss and co-workers family's. This was our 10th Royal Caribbean cruise (best ship is the Allure hands down). We departed Cape Liberty New Jersey. It's the first time we've drove to the ship as we usually fly to Florida but this time the location lent itself to driving it from Michigan. Great choice. The drive was great and the parking is so easy at the ...

My husband and I had an absolutely great time on the Quantum and would do it again. Our embarkment time was reserved when we did our online check in and was surprisingly smooth; we boarded in less than 20 minutes - I'm grateful for the members of Cruise Critic for informing us of these options. The departure from New Jersey with the spotty weather caused issues with outside activities on the ...

After many remarks about Carnival being the Wal-Mart of cruise ships and 8 cruises on Carnival, my husband, sister in law and brother in law and myself decided to try the Quantum of the Seas. The Quantum had so many experiences to try that we hadn't done. The staterooms were not much different that our 6 other balcony staterooms, with the exception to the shower being much more cramped in the ...

New Boat! Hit and miss food. Noisy staterooms

My wife and did the 8-night Bahamas cruise out of Cape Liberty, New Jersey on March 13, 2015. Overall, the cruise was okay. Definitely better than the Oasis we sailed 2 years ago. This boat is much less kid-oriented than the Oasis, which is a good thing for couples without kids. (Still TONS for kids to do, but not overkill like the Oasis). We like the variety of food options, but I think they ...

Sailing: March 13-21 (Bahamas and Florida) I’ll start off by saying that I’ve sailed on 20 cruises across multiple cruise lines, and as a Diamond member of RCCL, I’ve found that RCCL has consistently delivered my desires in a cruise vacation. I won’t recap our day-by day itinerary, but instead will tell you about the ship and my experience. As with many, I was also concerned about what to expect ...

Let me start out by saying my husband and I are seasoned cruisers. We have taken a total of 36 cruises on many lines including: Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Disney and Carnival. Our favorite line is Celebrity and our number two (thus far) is Royal Caribbean. We were truly looking foward to sailing from NJ as we live in NY. My nephew and his family also joined us. We arrived at the ...

We just returned from the Quantum March 13, 2015 sailing. Overall, we had a great time; although, we loved the Allure more. Embarkation We arrived at the Port of Bayonne around noon with a 1:45 pm check-in time. There was little to no line and we circled around and unloaded our car pretty quickly, given that we had 10 pieces of luggage for two adults and one 15 mos old baby.  We also packed a ...

Just returned from the Quantum and was a little disappointed considering the cost of this cruise. The good : the rooms are stylish, understated and functional, with plenty of storage. Check in was very efficient, less than 30 minutes and our luggage was at our room by the time the room was ready. The indoor pools and hot tubs allow you to start your vacation immediately. By sail away at 4pm we ...

Just came back from our disappointed cruise trip yesterday. This is the first vacation that we (group of 24) were looking forward for it to be over. I have to admit Quantum is a beautiful ship but beauty can only get you so far it the inside is rotten. I would never set sail out of Bayonne again. You basically wasting 3 days inside the ship to get to Port Canaveral and 2 days to come back from ...

My wife and I have been a loyal Royal Caribbean cruiser until the “Quantum of the Seas” We booked our cruise and looked forward to getting away to someplace warm while experiencing the new ship. The open spaces of the other ships that made you feel like you were really on vacation is not on this ship. Instead we felt like we were in a sardine can. The chairs on the pool deck and solarium were ...
