Chose to get on it Germany because there is way too much to see in Berlin and port is 2+ hours away. Flew in several days before cruise departure so we could tour Berlin first. Highly recommend a Hop-On-Hop-Off 48 hour pass. Tour of nearby Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp is very affordable when purchased directly (just $25) and not as a Princess excursion. Took a cab back to Tegel Airport to get a Princess Transfer (bus) as it would take almost twice as long to get to port from Berlin by train on our own. Have been on the Regal Princess before, in the Caribbean, good ship with good amenities. First stop for us was Norway. Did the Oslo Without Lunch excursion and the guide Arlene was fantastic. Our guide in Denmark was not as good but really enjoyed seeing the palace and Tivoli Gardens. Next was Sweden where we docked in Nynashamn. We thoroughly enjoyed the RIB adventure but were disappointed it wasn’t combinable with any tours to Stockholm which is 45 minutes away from Nynashamn. Taxis in Sweden are not regulated so negotiate your fare first! There are only two highway routes to Stockholm (the other one takes over an hour) so if there’s an accident or traffic delays, you could run into trouble getting back to the ship so we opted to stay in Nynashamn. Disappointed that Princess didn’t organize a shuttle service given how far away the port is from Stockholm. Next port was Finland, did the winter adventure tour with the ice bar and dog sled ride. The berry infused vodka is tasty but the tour doesn’t stop anywhere near a liquor store so I couldn’t purchase any, shame. The next day we reached St Petersburg. We did the one day trip to Moscow which was very worth it! A St Petersburg area guide, Alexandra (very personable, friendly, organized, fun) met us, showed us a little of St Petersburg then accompanied us on the Sapsan train ride to Moscow. Have to say the breakfast on board the Sapsan was pretty good. A Moscow guide met us when we got off the train and took us to the Red Square, rode the subway with us, then to the Kremlin, and the Armoury. She was not as personable as Alexandra (who remained with us all day as well) but incredibly knowledgeable! Some didn’t like that she had so much to say but I found her quite informative: she said she has served as a translator for Gorbachev and Putin in the past and inserted some fascinating anecdotes; she was well educated on the sights we saw and also knew a lot about architecture and history so narrated the drive through Moscow as well. The return by Sapsan was accompanied by a good dinner on board. We returned to the ship around 12:30 am so this trip is not for the faint of heart! The next day we did the Hermitage tour, the guide was pretty knowledgeable, and then we had some free time on Nevsky Prospect in St Petersburg. This provided ample time to get lunch and buy souvenirs. There is a good bookstore on Nevsky Prospect, not far from where the bus let us off, but I do not recommend the cafe on the second floor (which our guide had suggested), the service was atrocious! We really could have used another day in port to see more of this beautiful city. Our last port before returning to Germany was Tallinn, Estonia which is a charming town. Lots of quaint shops in Lower Town filled with souvenirs and local hand made goods and food. I enjoyed the Lower Town Shopping Tour and opted to remain in town to enjoy lunch and shop some more before walking back to the ship (about a 20 minute walk). Read Less

Second time around to take this Baltic itinerary! Personally I love cruising on Princess. Although sometimes, it is a hit or miss! I have sailed on Princess many many times and have already build up my level to Platinum/Elite! I love the many amenities provided in that level: free laundry, free bar set-up, free wi-fi (with Regal it it now unlimited vs. 120 minutes before (? don't remember # of minutes) anything free is always good! Hit or miss! Majority of times, staff are very attentive and give you excellent service; othertimes, some are quite rude! I would like to give a big shout out to the band playing in the Piazza! He has so much energy and oh so charming! He takes time to mingle with the crowd, dancing with the ladies, I hope Princess keeps him *forgot the name" as even just watcing him dance is entertainment enough! Would I take this cruise again....most definitely! The itinerary is perfect! Read Less

We chose this cruise as a first time visit to the British Isles. We have sailed with Princess in the past and have not be disappointed. This sailing was a sold out ship so it was very crowded onboard but Princess handled everything very well. Our only disappointment was boarding the ship in London/Southampton. Very disorganized from arriving at the airport to boarding the ship. After we boarded the ship everything else went smoothly. I think there should have been more enrichment activities offered. Some of out shore excursion were too rushed and the tour guides could have been a little more knowledgeable, but over all we were not disappointed. Entertainment was great as usual. Food was very good. Our cabin was roomy and well appointed. Disembarking the ship went smoothly and our extra days in London in one of their recommended hotels after the cruise was very nice. Great first time visit to Britain. We did not have any children in our group but we saw many families with children traveling together. Definitely will cruise with Princess again. We have 2 more cruised booked with them! Read Less

Reasonable amount of room space, decent size balcony for two people. Very comfortable bed. Couldn’t have had a better room steward (Nazy) who was quick & efficient every day. The buffet food left a bit to be desired (very Asian focused and wish there had been other good, daily options). The two onboard restaurants were excellent with Crown Grille being the best of two. Good wine list at both as well as in the main dining rooms. Onshore excursions lived up to the pre-purchase description although the St. Petersburg “tour” felt a bit like a cattle call - we were herded to all the major photo points with limited time in between. The best excursion was certainly the rib boat tour in Stockholm - absolutely amazing very small group tour of the archipelago! Pricey but worth it. The WiFi which we paid $29 for PER DAY was not good. At times it was quick but the majority of the cruise it was slow or non-existent. The upside is that we were forced to disconnect and had a great vacation. Overall, staff service was efficient, accommodating and well done without being overbearing. Read Less

I chose this cruise because I wanted to go to the places where the cruise was going. I particularly liked ST Petersburg. I also liked Stockholm, and wish we would have had more time there. The Regal is a nice ship. I have noticed the quality of the food declining in the main dining rooms. They do not group the food together properly. For example, they would have linguine with french fries. I found myself ordering linguine and then ordering another dish to get the clam sauce with crab meat. They just do not group the foods correctly. There are exceptions to the food review. I loved the Crown Grill, the steakhouse. I also liked Alfredos whci is the pizza restaurant on deck 5. I had a hard time getting surf and turf on the second formal night, because they come as separate dishes. Eventually I was successful in ordering 2 dinners at the same time to get lobster and steak. I liked the gym, and went there 3 times during the cruise, although they could use more room for floor stretching and exercises. The room were imaculate, and my steward was great. The entertainment was sometimes really good, and sometimes really bad. I liked the production shows and the singer they flew into to do the oldies. He was the princess entertainor of the year in 2016. I am not crazy that almost everything good is considerred a separate charge. Gelato is an additional 3.50. I think that is petty. I played in the casino, and they were very friendly, and my the end of my cruise they were calling me by name. I guess I spent too much time there. Read Less
