Review for a Alaska Cruise on Crown Princess

I was impressed with both the quality and variety of food in the main dining room as well as the availability of food in Horizon Court (buffet). I enjoyed the variety of equipment in the fitness centre as well as the availability of beach towels on the open deck. The selection and quality of entertainment on the stateroom tv was impressive as was the service that I received from select crew ...

Princess Got It Right

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Crown Princess

We had sailed on 10+ high-mid-low end cruises, picked the Crown Princess 11 nights sailing to Alaska last minute sailing under my mom's request. This was our 3rd time doing the Alaska itinerary, but my mom wanted something longer than 7 days, return Vancouver and we were familiar with Princess standard from the Japan and New England East Coast itinerary a few years back. Embarkation was a ...

Slow Service, Not Impressive, Terrible Customer Service

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Majestic Princess

After always sailing Royal Caribbean for our previous 12 cruises, we found that Princess drastically lacks in comparison. We had an Alaskan iteneray, leaving from Vancouver and ending in Whittier. The on boarding process in Vancouver was chaotic, it felt like we were walking in circles without any clear directional signage. The service is slow. They have an app that you can use to order ...

Princess isn't what it used to be

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Majestic Princess

Multi-generational family cruised together in July 2023 to Alaska. Nine people, 2 younger kids (ages 4, 13) and 7 adults (ages 19 , 47, 47, 49, 51, 70, 73). Our family of 3 (husband, wife and 19 year old) sailed this same cruise in 2014. Our previous experience was magical - we got off that cruise dreaming of the day we could do it again. Everything was amazing - great shows, amazing service, food ...

Super Weather

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Crown Princess

This was a 10 day out of Vancouver, and the price was excellent. Two stops we had not seen before so this was another reason for this specific cruise. Vancouver is a little hard to get into and out of. You most likely will spend a night even if you live close. The cruise port is easy to find and there is even the Public transit that stops right there. Boarding the ship is confusing, ask for help, ...

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Grand Princess

The embarkation was good, when we arrived to our suite we were surprised we had no cover on our balcony and we had all people above able to view us on the balcony. No privacy at all. Only booked three nights for dinner prior to leaving, thinking we could book as we went along. Only able to book 2 nights out of 9 for future meals, so just pot luck if you get in for dinner. The entertainment has not ...

Best cruise for Alaska nature lovers

This was our 8th cruise and 2nd time to Alaska (first was on Holland America), first time on Princess. We always heard that Princess does Alaska right and they sure did. We were very fortunate to have excellent weather through out the cruise, so that definitely helped. 1. Food - 3.5 stars (main dining was good, but several times the meat was undercooked and the Indian food was very mediocre, ...

Staff unhappy, subpar food and service

Currently sailing on the Sapphire Princess for a 7 day northbound sailing. We have previously sailed with Holland America and Disney Cruise Line Impressions so far: Embarkation: - we boarded at approximately 2:00pm. The process was swift and clear. - Once on the ship, we were told to go to the incorrect deck for our cabin. We wandered around for approximately 20 minutes. No staff to ...

Open Bow Promenade

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Sapphire Princess

The promenade deck on Sapphire Princess wraps all the way around the bow and has a completely unobstructed view forward- no glass, no pillars. For Alaskan scenic cruising this is amazing. There is a naturalist on board and she and fellow passengers gather there to look for wildlife and talk about the glaciers. The camaraderie is so much fun and with the prime viewing location, you get to see so ...

Tens for Entertainment and Food, with few disappointments

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Majestic Princess

User Avatar

We completed this itinerary and also stayed on for the 7 day return journey to Vancouver. The Majestic is similar to Princess’s other Royal Class ships. Apparently it was designed for the Chinese market and does not include the Take Five Jazz bar but has a VIP casino lounge in its place. That was a disappointment for us because we don’t gamble but we do like jazz. The musical ...
