We always wanted to take a TA and be on a new ship very early after launching and this trip fulfilled our desire. There are not a lot of negative comments about the ship or crew that can be made. Yes it has its creaks and groans as we sailed into the Atlantic but none that kept us up at night. WE booked an inside cabin that is fore and aft and are sleeping that way so the gentle rocking helps. We have booked on the TA for the Enchanted as well and expect to experience the same type of ship experience in 2020. Princess has stopped providing after dinner mints and toothpicks using the excuse of environmental issues, others on the cruise think it is a cost cutting issue. All I can say is we miss them. The ship seems to be much more open in the public spaces due to the additional width of the ship. The piazza has not increased in size so dancing can be a challenge. Princess theater is much bigger and some shows are standing room only. The production shows are ok, but the specialty performers are much better. The food is good but the desserts are ho-hum. We were able to walk right on the ship when we boarded and the medallions are a time saver. Internet continues to be a challenge and the IT staff has been very helpful. We don't like not being able to link more than 1 cruise at a time on Ocean Medallion. Read Less

Excellent in every way! Boarding was fast and efficient; luggage delivered quickly; room steward ("D" as he wanted to be called) was nearby to greet us and explain what he was going to provide and asked if we had any special request. Fantastic service. Cruise was a combination of celebrations my wife and I usually celebrate (birthdays, anniversary) as we do not do anything special during the year. Cruising is our time for the celebrations we share with other passengers. One of our stops was in Casablanca, Morocco. I was stationed there with the Navy in 1971 thru 1973 at a location north of Casablanca called Sidi Yahia near Kenitra. Wanted to show off the country to my wife. Was a good experience for her. The activities were plentiful and there was plenty to do. The sea days my wife was able to do some quilting project and I was sitting nearby reading or working on a project. All of the crew and officers were friendly and very helpful. The only glitch was disembarking and clearing customs in Florida. We were held in the lounge for an extra 45 minutes or so. No fault of the Princess Cruise line. Will do another one with them again within a year. We try to do at least on cruise a year. Read Less

It had been over 10 months since my last cruise and it will be a couple of months before my next cruise so I needed something to tide over my withdrawal pains. This short Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane cruise was perfect. We hopped on after a very short wait in a very non-crowded White Bay terminal, had a port day in Newcastle and then had a sea day before being given Walk-Off 3 at 8:15am at Brisbane. That was a bit different, but very easy with little luggage. I noted many newbies on board taste-testing and many weathered veterans just enjoying cruising like I was. I took along a friend new to Princess so took her along to as much as possible and tried to get to a bit of everything on offer to show her what can be done. We enjoyed a Lotus Spa tour and put our tickets in the drawer for a prize, but forgot to go up for the draw as we were enjoying our pre-ordered delicious crudites and dip and guacamole and corn chips with a bottle of sparking on deck as we cruised out of Sydney. We got to the Art raffle and sadly didn't win, but was nice to be given a pretty print and the story behind it. I scored at the Effy raffle - you just have to be in it and there to win the bling! We enjoyed eating at the Main Dining Room, anytime dining, Horizon Buffet and the Grill as well as enjoying a wine tasting and afternoon tea! No, I didn't put on any weight and actually lost 400g because I always took the stairs. The food was always fresh and delicious and a bit of everything to keep everyone happy. Couldn't fault the staff, always helpful and willing to serve. We enjoyed a highly mirrored interior cabin, that was still a bit dark, even with all the lights on, but we really didn't spend much time there as there was so much more to the ship to enjoy. Will definitely keep my ear out for any more little short cruises like this. Read Less

Wanted to try leaving from New York. We left from Brooklyn and it was virtually effortless. We left on Halloween so lots of creative costumes on board. Did not want a lot of stops. There were 3 exceptional ones. This cruise served both purposes and was priced right. We usually prefer ships with fewer passengers but the on-board entertainment and venues more than made up for the size. Incredible shows. Comedians who were hysterical, the ventriloquist was amazing, musicians who could really play, and star gazing opportunities made for fun evenings. Movies on demand were great for late late nights. Days at sea filled with plenty of activities: trivia, Princess Pop Choir, Karaoke, sports challenges, book club, game shows, shopping or just lounging at the pool. Alfredos Pizzaria was the hidden gem with unique and fresh pizza toppings, antipasto plates, soups and desserts. As with any Princess cruise we have been on the service was impeccable. Excursions were all well received. Zip lining on St. Maarten, swimming with the stingrays in Antigua (staff here really loved the animals and enjoyed sharing them with us), and the submarine experience in Aruba were all top shelf. The ship docked in Ft. Lauderdale which is also an efficient terminal. The only thing wrong with it is the airport which is undergoing renovations which we hope will make it more passenger friendly. If you are looking for a relaxing cruise put this one on your list. Read Less

This was my 68 cruise with Princess and my third time on the Regal. Here are my top Pros: 1. Arny Galoyo in Crooners. He is the best Crooner entertainer by far!! and a reason alone to cruise with Princess. We have cruised many times with Arny and are still amazed at his versatility (sings in 9 languages!), his ability to take requests from passengers (knows thousands of songs, across multiple genres), his talent and wonderful personality (greets all passengers, speaks to them during breaks to find out what kind of music they like, always smiles and welcomes passengers to Crooners, makes us feel like family), and his ability to draw a big crowd (Crooners was always standing room only and when he was in the Piazza there were crowds on all three levels watching, and a full dance floor of passengers dancing.) 2. The production shows. We were fortunate to be on a "handover" cruise, meaning that two production teams were on at the same time, and we saw two shows performed by each of the teams. All of the singers and dancers were amazing! So talented and hard-working. A special shout-out to the dancers on the departing team who performed my favorite show "Born to Dance". Their energy and enthusiasm, after being on the ship for six months already, was outstanding. Made me break into a big smile. 3. Medallion. I had set up our medallions ahead of time at home, and we breezed through embarkation. I loved the fact that the medallion opened our cabin door. So much easier when my husband was carrying two coffees and danishes in the morning and could get the door opened quickly using his elbow! 4. Horizon Court. The variety was truly amazing. Mongolian buffet, Asian buffet, Italian buffet, Indian buffet, along with voluminous salad fixings, 3 carving stations per night, lots of breads, pastries, fruits, etc. It was so easy to eat most of our meals there since we never got bored and always found plenty to please us. 5. Cruise director Dan Falconer and staff. There was a great variety of game shows and different trivias on this cruise. Something that is not true on all Princess ships. Sometimes it is just "trivia" for example. Here we had music trivia, movie trivia, general trivia, geography trivia, etc. Never boring. As well as all of our favorite games shows. 6. Alternate dining venues. Alfredos (great pizza except the Margherita needs more basil), International Cafe (delicious hazelnut stollen at breakfast), Crown Grill (fabulous service and delicious sea bass and black and blue onion soup), the outdoor grill (love the cheeseburgers and fries) and Vines (great wine selection and delicious tapas). 7. Crew. In particular, our room steward and the bar wait staff in Crooners. Always smiling. Always helpful. Always greeted us by names. The crew on this cruise in all my interactions were friendly, courteous, smiling.....great representatives of Princess. 8. Entertainment. We were fortunate to have 3 prior Entertainer of the Year performers on board. So, the entertainment in the Princess Theater, between the production shows and these guest entertainers, was outstanding. Special shout-outs to comedian Carlos Oscar, and ventriloquist/singer Michael Minor. Great shows. We went on this cruise to relax after a few months of exceptionally stressful issues at home and work. The cruise did the trick. We LOVED our time on board, just relaxed and walked around in the ports (have been to all of these ports many times and have done many of the excursions. We just wanted to enjoy the sun, shopping, drinks and sights.) Thank you Princess. Read Less

We chose this particular cruise because of free gratuities, new ship (to us), new ports (4), and considerable cabin credit we received. This was a "back-to-back" cruise that first transited north to Canadian ports and then southbound to several southern Caribbean ports for a total of 15 nights aboard. Ship was repositioning for the winter from NYC to Fort Lauderdale. We flew into New York the night prior to embarkation, staying at the Hampton Inn at LGA. UBered to the Brooklyn cruise port. The embarkation system there seemed to be in need of better direction. We had set up our "medallion" disc prior to leaving home, so we popped right up on their system on the first effort. Being Elite passengers, we were able to by-pass the standard line, but here is where it becomes confusing. We had wine we were bringing on board to declare, but there was no table/staff to declare it to.....at least not very visible with hundreds of people milling around. There was a table we found by chance that had a form required by Canadian authorities we needed to fill out, with no signage about it. We were directed by one staff member to proceed in one direction, only to be told by staff at that direction to turn around and retrace our steps. Eventually we found the right staff person whom could process our account and sent us onto the ship....whew!! The ship itself is nicely laid out. The Piazza seems wider than that space on other Princess ships. All the inside activities occur on the 5-6-7 decks, as is standard on Princess. Regal is a big girl, almost 1100' long, and has a capacity of about 3,600 passengers, but we sailed with about 3,000, as we were told. Our Balcony cabin felt spacious, and the bathroom space is improved. Sound blockage is quite good between adjoining staterooms....never heard our neighbors through the walls. The medallion "stateroom door unlock" was convenient when you approached with items in your hands. We choose late "traditional" dining so that we can develop a relationship with our wait staff over the course of the cruise. We chose a table for two, surrounded by like tables of two around us. Our waitstaff, Victor and Jay, were professional, with excellent English skills. The MDR (Allegro) is nicely laid out at the stern of deck 6, and it never seemed overly loud in there. Food and beverage orders were quickly dispatched to our table and presented well. The majority of foods presented were delicious, with a few "unknowns" we experimented with, we scratched off the "must-try" list. The ship itself is in good shape. Despite round-the-clock maintenance, there will always be a scrape of rust here and there.....just the nature of ships in a marine atmosphere, they work hard at keeping it up. The dedicated walking/running track located aft on deck 17 is a better fit for the active set avoiding the "strollers" on the old promenade walkways. The water feature is entertaining. Food is available everywhere on the ship...burgers, hotdogs, pizza, cocktails, ice cream on the pool deck. Alfredo's pizza was good for a generous pizza and beer during the day. Pub lunches in the Wheelhouse bar were well attended. The Princess theatre located forward is well laid out, with plenty of exits, allowing rapid entry/exit into there. Perfect sightlines throughout. Casino is quite large if that's your thing. The internet speed on this ship was the fastest we have experienced on Princess ships....hope it spreads to the rest of the fleet! We had a lecturer on board (Franz Schneider) who knew all things about ships and seas and provided excellent information on these topics during his lectures. Activities throughout the ship were constant from sunup til night owl hours, offering something for everyone. We had two different ship Captains during this voyage (Captains Stringer and Maresca) whom kept us highly informed about the ship itself. The new medallion system in place on this ship does expedite the purchase of goods and beverages on board (more about medallion later in this review). The cruise director Dan, and asst CD Kyle were funny, energetic, quick-witted, and fun to be around. Entertainment on board was top shelf....funny comedians, song/dance performances, Opera, etc. Princess offered a "rock-n-roll night" one evening in the Piazza base, composed of performers mingled together from all the bands/singers on board, and we feel it was the BEST live musical performance we have ever encountered on a Princess ship!.....we hope it goes fleetwide. Easy on-off access in all ports we visited. Used Princess excursions for Antigua and "Bernard's Tours" on St Maarten, (highly recommend Bernard's….have used them before with great results). All crew members were pleasant to us, always a smile. One bar waiter offered us a way to purchase ship wine by the bottle, which lowered our per-glass expense. Disembarkation in Ft Lauderdale was super-smooth.... the time it took to exit the ship was dictated by how fast you chose to walk. 90% of our cruise experience was positive. Now, we'll mention a few of the "speedbumps" we encountered.... 1. Sauna and steamroom …. these offerings have been "standard complementary" on the grand class and other class Princess ships, and located adjacent to the fitness center. On this ship, they have been moved to the opposite end of the ship and placed in the "Lotus Spa", requiring you to purchase a spa package to utilize these functions which are free on other ships. Left a bad taste in our mouth with the new "nickel and diming" policy. 2. The "medallion system" …. the jury is still out on this one. It opens your stateroom door for you upon your approach, which is good. We could never get the app to do a food order through our stateroom smart TV. It would routinely boot us off after a few hours, requiring input of your personal info multiple times over the day. It knows where you are at all times, which can be a little too-much big brother. It does expedite the purchase of beverages, goods, and services on board, because the staff member you are interacting with already knows your name, your face, and room number as they interact with you. No signing for anything anymore aboard this ship. We think the system needs a lot more tweaking to make it user-friendly/foolproof, especially for the senior crowd. 3. Noticed in several of the men's restrooms in the public area's that the floor layout/design prevents rapid use of these facilities...… paper towel dispensers located directly in front of a swing-in door, one sink for 3-4 simultaneous guests, just poor design flaws. Other than these few "speedbumps", the Regal is a classy, elegant, ship that we wouldn't hesitate to call a temporary home, sometime again in the future. Sorry to disappoint the "Debbie-downers" we encountered on this ship, but you will have fun on a cruise ship if YOU choose to do so. Hope this review helps! Read Less

I chose this cruise because of the destinations ie Vietnam and Australia. I had read some poor reviews before taking this cruise on Sun Princess but I gather it’s mostly people who like a whinge who write reviews. I believe in trying it and see for yourself. Yes the ship is getting old but we loved every bit of this ship. From the atrium to the 24 hour cafe to the Marquis dining room and especially the hot dog burger bar on deck 14. The food was excellent and covered everyone’s tastes. Some people complained the evening entertainment was too short but I found 45minutes long enough especially if you were on the late sitting for your evening meal. If you want a table for two for dining you should book the fixed dining restaurant and book the table before cruising. If you are in the other restaurant you just wait for a few minutes for a table to become free. I found no one upmanship regarding ‘elite’ guests. On the contrary the two couples on our table hid the fact. We took 3 cruise organised tours and they were excellent. The Ho Chi Min city tour was rather expensive but we had no choice as there were no other means of getting there. The ship docks at a container port miles from anywhere. The stewards were excellent and went out of their way to please you. We had an amazing time. We made many friends who added to our enjoyment of the cruise. I didn’t think the drinks were expensive. Much the same price as I would pay at home. Remember when $13 dollars for a glass of wine is quoted this in Australian dollars. And yes I can buy a bottle of wine from Aldi for the same price as a glass on the ship but you’re drinking it on a beautiful ship like the Sun Princess. Loved it! Read Less

This cruise was a good price and left Vancouver which is is close to where we live in Edmonton. We always wanted to see Tahiti, New Zealand and Australia. This cruise was nice because a previous cruise did not allow us to see Victoria because of the rain and wind. Emarkation was effortless. If only service on land was this smooth. We had fabulous weather and calm seas throughout. San Francisco was warm enough and we saw Sausalito as well as Alcatraz. Alcatraz is not to be missed. On to Hilo and Honolulu. Didn't take excursions because we have been there before. Walked and took the shuttle to various venues. Sometimes you see more just by walking than just driving around. Bora Bora is small but beautiful and rural. Refreshing to see that. Walked around and saw how the locals live. Tahiti was very beautiful and Papeete much larger and more of a modern city. Moorea, a ferry boat away, is even more beautiful. American Samoa was very lovely and the people are incredibly friendly. We were like rock stars! The Samoans are not to be fooled with. They are huge and what they eat in a day is what I would eat in 3. Interestingly, they are US citizens but can't vote. Auckland was fabulous. What a clean, well run city. No thugs downtown that I saw. Well dressed, well behaved, extremely friendly, happy. Loved it. Nice, as Canadians to have another currency worth less than the Canadian dollar. The cruise ended in Auckland but we flew to Brisbane and enjoyed that city very much as well. Another very beautiful and well run city. Clean and scenic. Golden Princess. One of the "shopping cart" ships because of Skywalkers Lounge. Ship shows very well for her age. She was refurbished in April 2018 and was up to snuff. The ship is sold to P & O cruises in April 2020. Our cabin was an MB mini suite. Love the extra room, sofa, 2 tvs, and the bathtub. On a longer cruise was so nice to have the extra space for storage and lounging. The bathtub makes the bathroom larger and gives more space for everything. We each get a nice glass of champagne on departure. Because we are Elite, and because techincally it is 2 cruises, we got the 2 mini bar setups, the 650 free internet minutes, and free laundry. Great perks on a long 23 day cruise. We had the late sitting for dinner. Best waiter, assistant waiter, and head waiter of all my cruises. Chris the waiter, Nathaniel the assistant and Constantin the head waiter. Superb service and timing. They always remembered the little things, lemon in the water, the buns with the seeds, our names, and so attentive. Top notch in any restaurant in the world. Entertainment was the best we have ever had and the cruise director and his assistants were great. Funny, witty, smooth, professional, and excellent. Service was great. The odd time the romm service in the morning forgot the odd item but nothing to complain about. They were so pleasant. Met some great people on the ship. Always meet new friends and enjoy life's memories. Read Less

My husband and I needed a worry-free escape from stressful jobs, one that, once we left the house, was completely taken care of. On this 4 night cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles, we were able to afford a Club Class Mini Suite with Princess transfers at the Vancouver Airport and an overnight at the Four Seasons Hotel. The transfers and hotel stay were well worth the price for us. As soon as we left Customs, a Princess Rep whisked us to a cab and handed a voucher to the driver. At the lovely Four Seasons we were upgraded to a magnificent one bedroom suite with a breathtaking city view. Our luggage was picked up from our suite at 8am the next morning and we didn't have to think about it again until it was safely delivered to our cabin in the very early afternoon. As others have mentioned, embarkation in Vancouver was a mess. There were 3 ships in Port disembarking when we arrived at about 9:45am, and we were herded here, there, and everywhere while the port employees tried to figure out what to do with us and where we were supposed to go. Once we cleared Customs and Princess had more control over the situation, things were much more organized. We were safely on board and in our cabin before 11:30am. Our cabin was very clean, spacious, and in good order. The tub/shower combination in the bathroom was worth the price of the suite. Our cabin steward Jeffrey was perfect in every way and greatly enhanced our experience. Our luggage was delivered very promptly. We couldn't have been happier with Club Class Dining. The separate area of the Bordeaux Dining Room was very peaceful and the service most attentive. The food was good and the extra dish often noteworthy. We never had to wait for a table, and our beverages of choice were instantly at hand. My husband enjoyed the variety of the buffet, but the quality of the food and lack of substantial vegetarian items made it a no go for me. We had Room Service a couple of times. The menu was small as were the portions, but the service was very friendly and you could order as much of any item as you wanted. I had pizza from the Lido Deck on the last day and wondered why I had waited so long. It was really good. The Coral Princess is very clean and well maintained. The crew is pleasant and seemed to work well together as a team. We enjoyed the less frantic atmosphere of a smaller ship, and found plenty of areas to enjoy the solitude of the sea away from others. I thoroughly enjoyed the Thermal Suite in the Lotus Spa. The heated beds were so relaxing, and I'm glad I invested in a pass. It was well worth it to me. It was too cold for us to brave Movies Under the Stars, but the movies also played on the televisions in our cabin and in the Princess Theater. We indulged in Premiere Coffee Cards and are glad we did. Although there could be long lines at the International Cafe, especially in the mornings, my husband greatly enjoyed the specialty frozen beverages available. I enjoyed an after dinner latte in Club Class more than once, along with an occasional Mocktail. Disembarkation in San Pedro was a breeze. We enjoyed a final Club Class breakfast with the same attentive service we had received during the rest of the cruise. We were not rushed or hurried in any way. After a leisurely meal we made our way to the quiet Platinum Lounge until our group was called. Once off the ship, our luggage was easily located and a Lyft quickly obtained for our short trip home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time aboard the lovely Coral Princess and hope to be cruising again before too long. Read Less

This re-positioning cruise was awesome. The 4 day itinerary was the perfect way to revitalize your spirit and mind. The Coral is a smaller ship but has all the amenities of say the Regal. It is new enough that the carpet still has spring to it and the rooms are clean and rust free. The food was excellent. The main dining rooms were large with a lot of ramps for passengers that need assistance. The buffet had many delicious dishes to choose from. The deserts were outstanding and the fruit was sweet and fresh. The cruise staff was outstanding. The passenger games were funny and the staff kept the party going. The art staff was awesome. They gave different lectures on various artists that were interesting and informative. Their knowledge of the artists and their work was impressive. The auctions were fun and the pieces being sold were a outstanding value. This is a trip I would do again. Read Less

Upon entering the cruise port Princess was there and graciously welcomed me back. It had been a while not choosing Princess. We were so glad we are back!!! The entire experience exceeded our expectations mainly due to the outstanding service we received in all venues. The Crooners Bar with Allan and Pankey was incredible. So fun and energetic. I miss them so much! Robert our room steward and Dani our traditional dining server. All are just awesome. The food was excellent. This was a back to back cruise at the end of the Alaska season for the Golden Princess. We left Vancouver for Ketchikan, back to Vancouver, then sailed on to Victoria and San Francisco in a second 3 day cruise. End of season cruises are the best! After spending months on the Alaska run, the crew was heading to Hawaii and then on to Australia and they were in high spirits. The entertainment crew was able to shed their Alaska lumberjack costumes for Hawaiian shirts. Because these were short cruises (4 day and then 3 day) the schedule was packed with activities. It was a delightful experience on this lovely ship. The Golden is an older ship with a passenger capacity under 3000. It has been refurbished and was in really excellent condition even after months on the family-packed Alaska itinerary. It has a lovely atrium around which there are numerous restaurants and bars. The lower floor Vines is a favorite and this one did not disappoint with an excellent selection of wines and superior service. Don't miss the wine and chocolate pairing. This level also has the International Cafe that offers a selection of included sandwiches, soup, salads and desserts in addition to a full bar and coffees. Upstairs is Crooners bar that was always busy and featured a good piano player. From Crooners, one wanders toward the back of the ship to the Explorers Lounge with a stage and frequent entertainment then the Wheelhouse bar for quieter enjoyment and finally on to the Vista Lounge. Centrally located are the Italian Restaurant and Steak House that are available for a small additional charge. Not being red meat fans, we chose the Italian restaurant and found the food and service to be excellent, well worth the extra charge. This ship had a really excellent wine list and we were able to enjoy a favorite bottle of Central California red wine with our dinner at a very reasonable price. For daily dining, we always choose seated dining at a large table. The crew has a talent for seating a together a group of compatible people and this trip was no exception. The food and service were excellent and so was the company. I can't say enough for the entertainment and activities. The entertainment staff went above and beyond. There was daily Zumba and tai chi plus trivia and an ever changing schedule of challenges ranging from Passenger Feud to Moose Racing to an egg drop that challenged passengers to create a device that would prevent a raw egg from breaking when dropped from two stories up to the atrium floor. I came home with a nice Princess water bottle and wine bottle stopper for participating and I had a great time doing it. On both legs the captain sponsored a champagne waterfall in the atrium with ample champagne for the passengers. The pool deck is inviting and was not crowded. This ship has an open pool area and also a covered pool that was more used in the cool and wet Alaska weather we encountered. There was simply too much fun to be had below decks for us to make much use of it. Service was excellent across the board. It always amazes that crew can remember you and your preferences with ever changing passengers. This ship was especially good. Our dining room waiter worked in the anytime dining room for breakfast and lunch and always came over to say hello. The bartenders in Vines and Skywalkers remembered us and our drink preferences and were always ready with beverages and conversation. Our cabin attendants were excellent. Even though we did not select these cruises for the ports and shore excursions, Vancouver proved to be better than we could possibly have expected. We did a Fraser Valley Wine Tour that was really excellent. Who knew? These Canadian wines are not readily available in the US and they are excellent. We also very much enjoyed Granville Island where we did a brief pre-cruise stay. Overall, this was an absolutely terrific week and we look forward to doing it again next year! Read Less

Repositioning from Vancouver to LA Sept 14th. I'm sure there are many people that were upset by circumstances about our departure which was delayed. This was well explained by the Captain, the tender for refuel had spilled causing the delay. That noted the staff and crew did everything to accommodate the passengers due to the delay getting into LA. We found all the activities available were excellent and enjoyed the cruise in it's entirety. Unlike the poor Holland cruise we had, Carnival cruise line does much better with Princess cruise line for attention to the customer. Onboard activities were plentiful. The food in the Buffet was excellent and we found it better than the Dinning room fare. Also the Pizza restaurant and International Cafe were wonderful to grab a nice snack or meal at. The ship was well maintained and almost everything was clean and spotless. The one thing that was difficult was getting used to the Deck layout's and the Dining rooms. Having to go to deck 4, up and down to get to the main dinning room was an odd situation. But once that was figured out it was much easier to work with. I would recommend Royal Princess over all the other cruises we have been on, with the exception of Disney. Read Less

Princess Cruises with the Regal was outstanding. We are elite so we have a few cruises with Princess but this time the entire staff: dinning room waiter (Herbert), assistance waiter (Veljko), dinning room manager (Norbert), dinning room hostess(Yaniris), and room steward (Carlos) were exceptional with friendly attitude, willingness to provide service, interest in our activities on ship and in ports with recommendations of what to try. Captain Stringer was amazing with his detailed explanation of our course across the Atlantic Ocean and changes due to the weather patterns. His daily updates could be quite humorous. I loved the description of a massive ship like the Regal sneaking out of port late at night. It reminded me of an elephant in a china shop trying to be delicate. The itinerary was great the best ports were Copenhagen. I could have stayed longer. St. Petersburg was fantastic with the two day small group tour and our guide was the best with so much knowledge about the people and history. Again I could have stayed longer. What a fantastic voyage. Thank you Princess Cruises and the Regal Princess Staff. Read Less

Primarily I chose this cruise because it was a way of returning to Australia after holidaying in the UK. However it was a wonderful experience. We visited ports of great interest and met many lovely people. We enjoyed all of the on board activities and felt that for 23 days we were living a life of luxury - which we were! The ship was comfortable and large. The only thing I missed was a dedicated promenade deck. Usually Deck 7 but on this ship it wasn't possible to do a full uninterrupted circuit of the ship. The entertainment was great, the day time activities covered lots of areas althoughI would have liked more enrichment lectures, or lectures on special subjects and special interest groups. The cruise staff were involved in so many activities and impressed us with their friendliness and patience. This was my third Princess cruise and I wont hesitate to book with them again. Read Less

We arrived at Port Everglades, and check-in was only delayed because some of the local agents seemed to be still learning the whos, whats, wheres, whys, and hows of the Medallion system. Boarding had not quite started, but within 15 minutes or so, we were on the ship. Our cabin wasn't ready yet, but I dropped off our case of wine and carry-on bags before heading to the dining room for lunch. Our waiter strolled in about 10 minutes later....he had just returned to the ship after spending several months at home, and he wasn't in his groove yet. We were in vacation mode, and apparently, so was he, so we chuckled about it. We ended up eating in the main dining room only a couple of times, opting for the buffet, and specialty dining more often than not. Once at both Sabatini's and Planks BBQ, twice @ Steamers, and four times in the Crown Grill. Sabatini's: It's been at least 7 years since we've tried Sabatini's. The meal was excellent. Everthing was fresh, and tasty. My only complaint....it's a loud room, Lots of hard surfaces. They also sat 5 tables in our waiter's section within minutes of our arrival, including a party of 10, swamping the poor guy, but everyone stepped up to get things served as timely as possible. He thanked us for being patient. Hey, I'm on a boat, with my wife, and a killer bottle of Chianti. What's not to like!? Planks: Service was great, but the food was only so-so. But when it comes to BBQ, I'm a tough cookie, because I live in Georgia, and I'm surrounded by great BBQ. Steamers: We really enjoyed the view from the window while chowing down on great seafood. Add the crab legs and lobster! Not everyone likes certain things, so it was real easy to say, no clams, or no mussels. They gladly offered substitutions. The service was outstanding. Crown Grill: Excellent service. I'd always drop off my wine a few hours before our reservation, and it would be decanted, waiting for us when we'd arrive. I had the lamb chops twice , and they were cooked perfectly. My wife had with the filet each time. Only once, did she have to send it back for being under-cooked. It happens every once in a while, and they took care of it. The entire CG staff were kept busy all night. Princess would go broke if they had to pay these folks by the mile. Vines: We enjoyed 2 flights of wine, and the pricing was very reasonable. Service was perfect. MDR: We had dinner there once, and were seated in a section that didn't have a waiter. After a few minutes, the Maitre D' asked us who seated us there, and quickly found a waiter to serve us. He did a great job, even without the help of an assistant waiter, but we found ourselves missing the friendly faces of the servers on the Lido Deck. The Ship: They are keeping her up nicely, always busy working on something. They are dealing with a/c issues in both public areas and cabins. We needed someone to fix our a/c the first night at around 11:45pm. They adjusted everything, and it was ok for the most part, but not 100%. Fans were offered, we declined. Our cabin was R745, the very last inside on the starboard side, which we absolutely love due to it's location. Three steps up, and you're at the terrace pool. We liked to call it our own private balcony. We ate breakfast and lunch up there most of the time, and there's always someone willing to bring you a drink or take your plates away. Every member of the food & beverage team we encountered on the Lido Deck, were delightful. Service was excellent. The Crew: Everyone seemed to be in great spirits as they had just finished doing months of 7 day Caribbean sailings, and this was a big change for them. New ports, cooler temps, and a week off from dealing with a turnaround day. We rarely encountered any lines or delays going here or there, because we learned a long time ago, that the early bird gets the worm. We were usually off of the ship while most were just showing up for breakfast. We walked between 5-6 miles each day in port. In a stop like Charleston, it was nice to walk and see everything and be back on the ship before it was too hot. How do you avoid an hour long line to buy ferry tickets in NYC? You download their app, and buy your tickets on your phone. I realize that some folks were miserable on this cruise, while others, like us, hated to leave. It's all up to you how you want to spend your time. Do you spend the night complaining, or do you choose your battles wisely and roll with things. I'll give you an example, there's a special drink I like on the platinum/elite lounge menu, I'd order it every day, and it was consistently made wrong. Instead of sending it back each evening while my wife drank her cocktail, we'd joke about if they were going to make it correctly or not each time. They got it right only once. A miserable record, but great folly for us. Some people seemingly take comfort in berating the help, I witnessed some doozies on this sailing. I would never let folks talk to my employees that way. So....if you don't like standing in lines, go before or after everyone else does. Don't get angry at the Maitre D because it's your anniversary and you can't get a window table. If it's so important to you, make arrangements ahead of time. Plan ahead, so you can enjoy later. You're on a floating hotel in the middle of the ocean, if you can't somehow enjoy yourself, you deserve to be miserable. Read Less

We had always wanted to try a Trans-Atlantic. Even the 5 Sea Days in a row weren't bad, as there was a lot of choices to keep you busy. We loved the intimacy all-around on the Pacific Princess. The "Old World" theme of decorating made the entire ship very elegant. Our cruise director Lynn, was the most personable and energetic we have ever been around! The captain came by dinner several times just to stop an visit. The excursions were all Princess - and they were just what they promised! We could not have asked for better food! I have special dietary restrictions and they took excellent care of me - in the dining room, up top on the grill, or in the buffet. All Ii had to do was mention my problems, and they catered to every need. The waiters were so friendly. One, Alfred, gave you a hug and smile - no matter where you ran into him - even on shore! We loved every minute of this cruise and the scenery was just breathtaking as well! Read Less

This cruise met my husband's desire for an eastbound trans-atlantic cruise and my desire to visit Iceland and Shetland. It was lovely! The seas were surprisingly (to me) calm. The Pacific Princess is a lovely "small" ship, very different from the bigger Princess ships like the Regal, but it was great. The ports were all interesting and could easily be explored on one's own if one chose not to take a tour. There was plenty of entertainment and often the entertainers visited the Casino (Crooners) bar for some impromptu singing---not something I've seen on the bigger ships where it's a lot more impersonal. We enjoyed the Pacific Lounge on the top deck for amazing views while sailing and while in port. The food and the service in the dining room and the bars was all quite fine. The Casino is small but seems to do the trick. I highly recommend this ship and this itinerary. Read Less

We love doing this cruise every year - we take the train up to Vancouver, the ship down to Seattle - it is an awesome little overnight trip. Since it is only 1 night we take an inside cabin, although 1 year we DID book the mini-suite. We travel w/ 4 in the cabin for most cost effectiveness. It was a one night cruise so no big show - the lounges had nice shows - the service was great - the ship was great - the staff was great, as usual - there was a game show between staff & guests that we listened to, it was fun - there were no ports so no excursions. To be fair to the crew, they had NO CONTROL over customs. Customs, for whatever reason, decided to do a FULL customs check on EACH guest, so disembarkation was a nightmare. The staff COULD have allowed for guests w/ flights to catch to disembark first, but no such concession was made. Other than disembarkation, the entire cruise, the food, everything was wonderful. I LOVE the sorbet in the dining rooms and highly recommend everyone trying it... there are odd flavors sometimes, but still so very, very good - Well, that's about it... Read Less

I chose this cruise because I heard it had high ratings and was a short 3 day cruise. I really enjoyed everything and the fact that it had a structured schedule of entertainment and activities. We had a great experience at Lotus spa and got a couple's massage and hair style.Every personnel was so kind, knowledgable and helped us in every way. We were very satisfied with them. I was really happy that there was 24 hour cafes and room service along with daily live music that one could dance to. All the entertainers were so talented, I was impressed! We had so much fun and danced, ate and drank a lot. We had a chance to relax while at sea. It was absolutely wonderful and my boyfriend proposed to me on the last night we were there. It was truly a special adventure as it was a special occasion and our first cruise together with the exceptional service of the Star Princess Cruise. Read Less

Four of us women friends from across the map (Toronto, Florida, San Francisco, and Vancouver) chose this cruise as an opportunity to reunite, to hang out and chill, and it exceeded all of our expectations. Originally, we booked two balcony rooms; but when PRINCESS offered us an opportunity to upgrade to a Full Suite at a discount, and we took advantage of the offer. It was completely worth it. We enjoyed welcome champagne, “high tea” one afternoon, and a gourmet breakfast one morning out on our balcony. We made use of the thermal suites in the spa. We enjoyed stellar breakfasts and dinner at Sabatini’s. We took in the comedians, a couple of shows, and then continued our celebration for a couple of additional nights in Vancouver where spring was in full bloom. The weather on the cruise was overcast, foggy, and chilly the whole time. One night, we went to sleep to the sound of the fog horn, but this did not detract from our enjoyment. I would book this cruise again — particularly for a reunion with family. Highly recommend! Thank you, PRINCESS!! Read Less

Quick 3 day repositioning cruise heading north to Vancouver. Flight in to LAX was perfect since Princess has staff at the baggage pickup area. My flight came in at 9:20 am. Bought transfer to ship at baggage claim from Princess personal and waited for bus. Our luggage stayed with staff and we were taken directly to ship. On the Coral Princess ship by 11:30 am. Luggage made it onto ship without any problem & was so nice not to deal with it on bus or pier. Beautiful day in LA. Blue sky and able to sit on padded lounge chairs by the indoor pool and watch the seals swimming near the ship. Nice lunch at Horizon buffet which is at the front of the ship. Went to one production show at the Princess Theater/ front of the ship. Enjoyed the special guest singers, Princess singers and band that preformed. Went to a comedy show at the back of the ship, really like that lounge and comedy was nice with little or no profanity. Relaxing Trip. Still like to watch the Yes, No game. Anytime dining was good. For Vancouver I was in walkoff group 2 taking own luggage off. Although we were slightly late to the dock/pier, I was walking off the ship by 7:45 am. Made prior reservation with Quick Shuttle and able to catch the 9 am bus to Seattle without any problem for my flight. This reposition sailing only offered transfers to Vancouver airport. I really liked the size of the Coral Princess and thought it was a pretty ship and like it, would sail on it again. Someone mentioned no seating by the Atrium on this ship, I didn’t really go there much. Didn’t notice any smoke smell from casino which was really nice. Loved that their was always lounge chairs available to use. Read Less

We love the Royal Princess Cruise ship. We had sailed on it on a 21 day Mediterranean Cruise in 2016. Enjoy the layout of the ship, which includes the Princess Live. We were eager to try out the new Medallion Class and were were celebrating our 35th. Wedding Anniversary. One of the reasons we chose this cruise is because it finished in Vancouver. We live in nearby Point Roberts , Washington State. We were Happy to celebrate our Anniversary in San Diego, California on Cinco De Mayo. Lots of celebrations going on in Old Town, San Diego. This was the first time that the Royal Princess has been on the West Coast! Matt O’Brien was our awesome cruise director. We selected an interior cabin this time. It was super cozy. Comfortable, and clean. We had plenty of room for our clothes. We preordered waters and beers for our room. Totally convenient! Love the new Medallion Class! Ease of embarking and disembarking! Fast! Great way to order drinks! Delivered directly to you. You use your Medallion for all purchases, everywhere on board. Including the laundry room, and the slot machines! Can’t say enough! It was awesome! Entertainment was good. The comedian, AJ Jamal, was a standout! He was the entertainment for two nights! He was awesome! The food was good. The pizza was available in two locations Alfredo’s Pizzeria , where they make individual pizzas to order. They also have other Italian food available. There is NO upcharge. The pizza is outstanding. Pizza can also be found up by the pool. You can get it by the slice. Delicious pizza! We went to the movies under the stars. Popcorn is available during the movies. Omelettes are made to order for breakfast at the buffet. Freshly sliced smoked salmon and bagels daily. Steak and all kinds of eggs, cereals, pastry. Something for everyone to eat at the breakfast buffet. There were two formal nights. The second formal night had mini lobster tails and risotto. I previously lived in Maine, so I am a tad picky with my lobster. This lobster tail was extremely tiny. We ate in the Steakhouse and it was delicious, as always. It never disappoints! My husband had the rib eye steak and I had the lamb chops. Cooked to perfection. Had salad. My husband had the baked potato with toppings and I had grilled fresh asparagus and the creamed spinach. Delicious. We also had dessert. There is a $29.00 upcharge each to eat at the Crowngrill Steakhouse. I highly recommend this for an extra special evening. Pub lunch! What can I say? We look forward to pub lunch on Princess Cruises. There is NO upcharge. Always a lineup! Usually held in the Wheelhouse Pub or the Crowngrill Steakhouse. They have fish and chips with mushy peas, steak and kidney pie, bangers and mash, English Plowman’s lunch. They also have British Beers available for purchase. It is just the right amount for lunch. We thoroughly enjoy the Pub Lunch! Read Less

One more cruise to be Elite! I pick the cruise that matches the port closest to where I live and the itinerary. Seattle: The Hop on Hop off at Seattle was terrible. Many went to complain and received 50percent back. Do not recommend. San Francisco: Right across street is Street Car stop (cable, trolley) that you can take to go to Fishermans Wharf etc, or to go to San Francisco Trolley tour. Also take it within two blocks of rental car companies. Also Hertz, Enterprise, etc will reimburse you cab fare from car rental. We rented car for the day to drive to Napa. Watch out for extra $14 toll fare added to rental. Hertz AAA Discount. Enterprise thru Costco. San Diego: walk or take bicycle taxi, or taxi down to Seaport Village. 10 of our group took the Seal tour. (Duck tour.) Or book Hop on Hop off either thru ship or independently. Embarkation: New Medallion Class ship. So no preference to preferred boarding. Disembarkation in Vancouver: We took taxis, big mistake. Some took train to airport, bigger mistake. Several cruses in one day. Long line for taxis, then they kept taking the handicapped first and our line did not move until we complained that they were not rotating us. In the future we would book Princess shuttle. We like the fact that the Royal Class ships have the fresh ground coffee not the syrup. Read Less

Our first surprise was a five category upgrade. Embarkation was a breeze with our luggage delivered before dinner. Pizza for lunch did not disapoint. DaVinci main dining room was great our waiter and assistant waiter were professional and and lots of fun. The entertainment was high class as always with a very funny Cruise Director. Activities were so numerous, one could not attend them all. The complimentary Sauna was great. The new Salty Dog grill Lido deck has an improved menu. The Fresh Market buffet is remodeled with a larger selection. The BBQ and Seafood restaurants are an improvement along with Share, Crown Grill, and Salty Dog pub. I did not use the Excursion desk. Disembarkation was very smooth. Thank you Emerald Princess for a very enjoyable TA. Read Less
