First time on Princess was so-so

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Crown Princess

We are a three person family with a toddler. We chose this cruise as part of a trip to Vancouver to see friends. Our cruising activities are limited by our kid, so we spend most of our cruises eating, walking around the ship, and enjoying some of the music activities. Day 1: we had lunch and dinner at the buffet. Both times it was okay - good staff, no wait time, but food was pretty mediocre. ...

A Cheapskate Tries a Repositioning Cruise

What year is this cruise? People are eating rice pilaf and drinking Blue Hawaiians, the comedian’s routine is shockingly racist, and the big musical revue is a nearly all-white salute to Motown. I halfway expected to run into cigarette machine. I am old, but Gen Z: I was appalled on your behalf. The fact that the buffet has a vegan section and there’s a nightly LGBTQ meet-up reminded me it was ...

Embarkation day went well. We got to the Seattle Pier 91 around noon. It took 15 minutes to board after going through security. At 1pm our cabin was ready and we were in an inside cabin a few doors from the very aft of the ship. The cabin layout is very good except for the shower. There is no plastic or glass door but only a plastic shower curtain and very worn out. We picked an inside cabin ...

Apart from a couple of days of wet weather (could not be helped!) our Alaska cruise was wonderful! The food was fantastic (the best cruise food ever - some amazing choices) and the entertainment was also top drawer including a couple of great shows, and a guy who makes a piano sing and folks smile with his repertoire - Liam Stewart. Our Buble singer wasn’t quite at the right pitch but even ...

Loved the ship, Crew and service!! Great views... Rooms are awesome and the technology is top of the line! We booked and inside cabin for a cruise to Alaska on Discovery Princess and when we arrived on the ship we were impressed by the cabin layout and size. Very clean tidy and well designed meant the cabin felt spacious. Soon after boarding we visited the Cruise excursion desk as we had not received tickets for our previously booked excursion. To our surprise we were told the excursion had been ...

Nice ship - food and entertainment need serious upgrading

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Royal Princess

This was our first cruise since the restart after covid. As platinum cruisers with Princess this was not our first trip by any means and we were interested to compare the before and after. Royal was bigger than the ships we had cruised previously so we had some expectations of crowding which wasn't really an issue for the most part. Bar and Atrium entertainers were great but the main ...

Sad food, sadder medical claim service

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Royal Princess

The ship's decor, stateroom and cabin attendant was quite reasonable. Entertainment was some good, some bad. Not reasonable were two things, food and post cruise medical claim service. FOOD: Admittedly, companion and I ate at standard restaurants to test what we already paid for. With few exceptions, breakfast through dinner, the food was far below mediocre. Dry, off-tasting scrambled ...

Went on our first Alaska Cruise August 27 - September 3 2023. My 10th cruise, his 2nd. The sail away party from Seattle was nice and really our only opportunity to use the pool unless you have a high tolerance for cold air, but the hot tubs are nice and not crowded. Booked with the Princess Premier package. Paid for itself but some perks not used or not really great...more to come. Balcony room ...

Everything was fantastic. The staff, the food, and the entire experience. All of our excursions was booked through Princess. If you book through the cruise line, you are guaranteed the ship will not leave without you. I definitely recommend the salmon bake in Juno. I did not see any whales, but my husband did. I did see several orcas, and seals. I did purchase a some art from the cruise. I ...
