We have been on several princess cruises to Alaska. They exact itinerary. Be aware, this ship does not go near the glacier, they want to sell you a $300 “up close” excursion. So when they say they go to glaciers it is a lie.
The ship itself is a huge disappointment. Deck 7 is the only deck that allows you to walk the entire level—although none are outside.
The medallion that opens ...
This was a couple’s cruise for us to celebrate our anniversary. Embarking was fairly easy. Princess does a great job for passengers with mobility challenges. We had lunch in the Skagway Dining Room with great service. We loved the location of our balcony cabin. Things were off to a fine start.
The balcony was lovely with plenty of space. The cabin itself felt a bit small, and everything was so ...
Total confusion from the start. Airline tickets with not enough time between flights. On disembarkation you need 5 hrs after port. We had to take a taxis to the airport to make flight (still have not received refund for shuttle). Lost backpack on ship at disembarkation reported it to Princess no response. Travel insurance through Princess stated they need Princess to reply before they can start my ...
We have been on the Discovery Princess on a previous Mexican Coastal cruise and enjoyed it. We chose early in the season which can be a gamble due to the weather or wildlife sightings. We scored on the weather, sunny and warm until the last day at sea with rain and choppy seas and it was a bit cool in Victoria in the evening. Discovery Princess is the newest ship in the fleet in service. ...
This was our 12th cruise on Princess. We were on the Royal Princess, a beautiful ship. We were booked in a mini-suite, mid-ship deck 10. Great location, close to everything. From the time we arrived at the pier we were onboard in about 40 minutes. There was some confusion about what to do with luggage but it was resolved and everyone was on there way to the ship.
We were onboard early but ...
I took my 81 year old mother on a Princess cruise to Alaska. It was a 1st cruise for both of us. My cruise was for 5/7/23 and I booked the cruise 9/18/22. I was given a diagram of the ship with highlighted areas of the cabins that were available. I had read that the middle of the ship gets the least amount of movement so I picked a middle cabin halfway up the ship on the right hand side, so as to ...
Embarkation:
We arrived at 10:45 am for an 11 am boarding time. A man directing traffic motioned for us to move from the car line to the right. We did and another man down the way said we could not join the car lane as were were in the taxi lane and had to go to the back of the line. Ok, we had been in the car lane until we were directed to move from it but we head to get back in line. The ...
Part of a package holiday as we wanted to see Alaska! ( week touring Canada first based in Banff) Visited towns were great, did majority of trips advertised but used local tours. Which enabled us to see more places and far cheaper than booking on ship. And smaller groups, we do this whenever possible to see the real places from a local perspective.
The ship was very nice, but to big for us. ...
This was a very special 10th anniversary trip for us and we were super excited to finally see Alaska. The weather was great, the ports were a lot of fun and we enjoyed our mini suite cabin, but that's it. The ship itself was crowded, the food was absolutely awful and the service was lacking. The medallion experience does make things easier in some ways but takes the personal touch of the crew ...
My sister & I took this cruise as our annual get-away. We experienced both good & bad on the cruise. The ship was beautiful but very crowded. Elevators were always slammed. Getting on and off at each destination was not pleasant, they herded us like cattle. Many of the staff were short with us and unfriendly. That came as a surprise.
Our room steward was awesome (Roselle) and kept our cabin ...
