Went with friends for my first cruise and first trip to Alaska. Being a novice to both - it was an incredible experience all the way around. The cruise staff were always friendly and helpful. Ship very clean. Food in dining areas was very good with varied selections. Ate dinner at buffet once - many selections. Drink prices were a respectable price range. They were not off the charts ...

Booking a Club Class Mini Suite entitled us to priority embarkation - the process could not have been quicker or smoother. We had both red and white wine (half bottle of each) in our room on arrival, canapes on request, and the cabin was superior in both comfort and layout (see cabin review below for more detail). The ship was easy to navigate and never seemed crowded, even in the most public ...

The best way to see Alaska

What is there not to love about sailing to Alaska aboard the Ruby Princess? Not much! The scenery is stunning, the amenities are fantastic, and the service was out of this world. The good: 1) The ship is incredibly wheelchair accessible. I use a mobility scooter and the only place I encountered even the slightest challenge was at the gym (the machines are placed too closely together to ...

No Nausea!

I have always wanted to go on a cruise, but because I can't sit on a swing without getting motion sickness, I was skeptical. Surprisingly enough, I very rarely felt any movement of the ship and when I did, it was fleeting. Seattle is a fun city to cruise from. Plenty to do if you arrive several days ahead of your departure, which I recommend doing. Cruise Alaska in August! We had absolutely ...

Traveling up the Inside Passage has been on our bucket list for years and this year, celebrating our 40th, was the year to finally do a cruise. We initially chose this cruise at a special Princess Cruises presentation at AAA. Our experience surpassed our expectations. The ship furnishings were lovely, we loved having a balcony room, and the food and service were top notch, as were the ...

-We chose this cruise for the Alaska experience. We arrived in Seattle 2 days before the cruise to have time to explore. Enjoyed market out by the docks.Ate at several great restaurants on the water. It was a beautiful ship and a great staff in the dining room. -When we arrived at the port in Seattle is was the easiest check-in that we have experienced so for. -We especially enjoyed the ...

Going Downhill

The food quality is going downhill from previous Princess cruises, especially in the buffet areas; but, also to some degree in the main dining rooms. The steak house was good, especially the filet. The boneless rib tasted good, but had too much gristle. Never found a really good desert in any dining area - except the real ice cream that you had to pay extra to get. This ship is over ten ...

We chose this cruise because friends were already booked and we decided to travel with them; otherwise, we would have chosen another cruise line. Our cabin was spacious and clean. The bed, linens and pillows were very comfortable. The television was a good size with excellent quality transmission and a great variety of viewing options. Our cabin steward was excellent. Good amount of closet ...

This was our first week long cruise and our first to Alaska. It was wonderful The staff on the ship is amazing. So polite and accommodating. We did not find one person that wasn't willing to help. Service staff is everywhere. Others have complained about the service but I cannot imagine what their problem was. We did not have to wait long for anything. And my daughter was always looking to fill ...

Not worth the final cost

Holland America was recommended but we chose Princess instead, never again. Horizon buffet had mediocre food at times, other times it was very good. Staff ignored our needs much of our dining time, had to bus our table, find silverware and drinks. Other times they were ok. Anytime dining in the Da Vinci and Michelangelo was fantastic. Food was great. Excursions were OK, Ketchikan was very short. ...
