We joined friends and my daughter for this "once in a lifetime" Antarctic cruise. The big takeaway was the outstanding customer service throughout the ship in every venue: room steward, dining room hosts and stewards, Guest Services, photo shop, and internet booth. First the pros of this cruise and the Sapphire Princess ship, and there were several areas that were excellent:
1. Medallion service/functionality is great. Making it very easy to order food and drinks pretty much anywhere on the ship. Embarkation was simple/easy. The medallion appears to be the only new thing that Princess has done since we sailed last with them in 2016.

Too few waiters, too much cost cutting, penny pinching everywhere, but staff great and ship in good condition. Food nowhere need as good as it used to be and repeated items on each evenings menus. I choose this cruise because it was easy access for my sister and myself as we live in Vancouver.
I have cruised a lot but only once before with Princess to Alaska. I normally use Celebrity.

Sapphire was built in 2004 and refurbished in 2018.
It hold ups to 2670 passengers and up to 1100 crew. That's a nice crew to passenger ratio.
This smaller ship really provides wonderful service. We took a repositioning cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles from October 8th-15th, 2023.
I would have given them a 4 1/2 stars, but that wasn't a choice.
