My daughter goes to college in Boston, and I am a 50 y/o career momma from AZ. We both needed some downtime - from school and harsh winter! (she:) and from work (me :).... This cruise fit the bill. It was short enough, yet far enough to be able to just relax and not spend a ton of money.
Transportation:
We flew from PHX to LGB. Got there at 12noon. We took a taxi (cost $45 + tip) one way. Easy ...
The wife and I took advantage of the great deal Princess was offering for their 4 night California Coastal up to Santa Barbara then down to Ensenada.
We were assigned an interior handicapped even though neither of is mobility impaired, kept expecting to get bumped into an OV but never did, we enjoyed the extra space and the wonderful spacious shower. Jocelyn our cabin attendant did a fantastic ...

We sailed on the Sapphire out of San Pedro for a 4 day cruise. This is our 4th Princess cruise but our 10th all together This was a short getway since we were already visiting our grandkids in SoCal. Embarkation in San Pedro started off smoothly. We had been emailed not to show up too early but arrived by noon. We were checked in but in a holding area for an hour while they called groups starting ...
The Sapphire Princess presents a great way to cruise the west coast. A nice 7 day trip to SF. Santa Barbara, San Diego, Ensenada. The Sapphire is a beautiful ship that although carries a large amount of passengers we never felt cramped at all. Utilizing "anytime dining", we never waited longer than 10 mins (only that long once!) for a table. They seemed to be very relaxed on bringing your own wine ...
We have done over 12 cruises in various parts of the world, and this cruise was not our favorite. Our travel to the ship was uneventful, as our son dropped us off at San Pedro Pier.
The embarkation was smooth and quick. There were no long lines, and we were well received.
Our Stateroom was another story. The day we arrived, our A/C was working. But for the rest of our cruise, we coudn't get the ...
My wife and I decided to take the Wine Country Coastal about 2 weeks before sailing. We decided to take an ocean view obstructed on Emerald deck. The price was irresistable compared to the balconies which were almost sold out except for the most expensive ones. Given that this cruise was not in warm weather for a lot of the sail, we felt happy with our choice. As it turned out, the view was not ...
This was my first cruise on Princess and my wife's first cruise ever. My wife was very impressed with her first cruise experience and now has a better understanding of why I love it so much. The Sapphire Princess is a beautiful ship with excellent amenities. My wife uses a wheelchair full time so we booked an interior handicap room and I was so excited when we first stepped into E-310 and found it ...
We have never been on cruise in which we've had a bad time. Cost & value is always a consideration for us and we rarely pay for any optional services or meals onboard. We treat the ship as a floating hotel and book based mainly on itinerary. When reading reviews I realize they are opinions and to decipher how they will affect us is sometimes difficult. I have 35+ years experience in customer ...
Service:
We had an excellent cabin attendant Rheena, who always greeted us by name with a smile and always took a few minutes to talk to us about our day or answer any questions we had. She kept our cabin immaculate and serviced it several times per day.
The staff around the rest of the ship in dining rooms or elsewhere weren't quite as friendly or outgoing as other cruise companies that we ...
