Excellent Itinerary, but disorganised and very poor communication

We chose this cruise because of the add-on to Iguaza Falls. Same seemed to be true for the fellow Brits on board. We’ve travelled on Princess once before and vowed never again, however we were tempted by the itinerary. Sadly the disorganisation and lack of communication were the same as four years ago. Embarkation was shambolic. It took well over an hour to crawl through San Anitonio - typiical ...

Not up to Princess usual standards.

The destination was fantastic and truly the trip of a lifetime, but the ship was terribly overcrowded with very little available seating in the public areas. It was next to impossible to eat at the Horizon Court Buffet, because you could never find a seat. Food in both the buffet and the dining room was average, but the International Cafe shone in this regard. Shore excursions were disorganized, ...

Solely for the itinerary. Suspected that we would hate the cruise and we did! Can’t understand why 3000 people would want to be herded onto a ship and subjected to constant noise, demented entertainments (vegetable carving?!) and dreadful formal nights. Every restaurant seemed to have third rate singers belting out songs we hoped we’d never hear again. We had to time our meals during the time ...

Usual, Excellent Princess Cruise. Princess ships are usually immaculate, with excellently trained staff. Have had plenty of good Captains in our 23 cruises with princess ,but the the presentation and manner of this Captain was the best. His humourous interesting antedotes were daily welcomed. Our favourite places were Ushauai and the Fiords, Cape Horn, Stanley,& Buenos Aires. Weather very ...

Just came off the Emerald Princess abroad for South America. Just relaized that I was on this same ship nearly 10 years ago, when we sailed to the Carribean with our young family. The Emerald Princess seems to be stuck in a time warp. The decor remained unchanged and really looked dated...brown wood trimmings. The upholstery on the Piazza chairs were fraying at the edges and would have been nice ...

The cruise's itinerary is interesting. However the ship itself is old and needs refurbishing. Reception desk - could be better. They weren't very helpful when a problem arose. Room - needed refurbishing badly. Bathroom appliances are old and need a replacement. But cleaning service did their best to keep the cabin clean. They also worked very fast and immediately responded to ...

Penguins, Santiago and Buenos Aires!

We had never been to South America and wanted to see a variety of places, including different landscapes, small towns and large cities. The itinerary of this cruise filled that bill, by letting us see snow-capped peaks, beautiful lakes and waterfalls, different varieties of penguins, two magnificent large cities (Santiago and Buenos Aires), and the very unusual Falkland Islands. The Falklands ...

Pleasant trip around the Horn from Santiago to Buenos Aires

This cruise was on our bucket list for years and we finally had the time to do it. We had three places on this cruise we particularly wanted to visit. Santiago, the Falklands and Buenos Aires. And we accomplished that. Embarkation was a breeze although instructions were somewhat confusing. Princess told us to plan on arriving at 4 based on our cabin location. But there was no way to ...

Senior Staff Did Not Care About Customer Service

Review for a South America Cruise on Emerald Princess

User Avatar

It seems like Princess has decided not to prioritize customer service. This trip felt more like working with an airline than a cruise line. The guest relations staff was not empowered to do anything when a problem arose. The food was mediocre. The entertainment, with a few exceptions, was terrible. The director of dining was abrasive. The decor was dated. The tendering was poor. Some of the ...

The opportunity to see Chilean fjords, Cape Horn, the Falklands, and excursions to three South American countries was the big draw for us. However, our experience was mixed, and we may not choose Princess in future. Good to great: the route, the sights, the captain's daily informative messages, the numerous delightful people we met and what we learned from all this. Great fresh breads, good ...
