Arrival We flew in two days early to see Puerto Rico. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Miramar. Nice hotel, friendly staff, close to quick food like Subway and Papa Johns and a grocery store. We flew in on Jet Blue with no problems and rented a car with Charlies because they provide a shuttle to the pier after returning your car. We will NEVER rent a car in San Juan again. The road system is ...
Embarkation: This was no problem, we snuck on a bottle of wine and a bottle of vodka using our rumrunners we purchased online. We also brought champagne and a bottle of vodka from the duty free outside the port as the guy inside said the people checking bags don't work for Princess and don't care. A few minutes after we walked around the ship our bags were delivered to our room.
Ship: The ship ...
We were confused as to why the ship rocked so much even in very calm waters. I usually don't get seasick unless the waters are very rough but I was nauseous most of the time on board. I was very thankful for stopping at a port a day just to pull myself back together again. We were with two other couples one of which was their first cruise. Needless to say not a good first impression. My friend was ...
Pre-Embarkation: My wife and I traveled to San Juan on Saturday 3/21 with a direct flight on Northwest Airlines from Minneapolis. This flight arrived on time and we proceeded by taxi to our pre cruise hotel which was the Marriott Courtyard at Isla Verde.
Hotel: The Marriott Courtyard Isla Verde is located on Isla Verde Beach right next to the airport. There have been some complaints about ...
Summary. It was an interesting cruise. I enjoyed visiting the islands, the ship was great. Note: I didn't find the ship rocked any more than one normally would . I`m not a Bert Stratton fan, but he was on board and his shows seemed well attended. If you are interested in pictures, go to www.fotki.com/ggrrrr . It is the top album, Southern Caribbean.
Saturday I flew into San Juan a day ...
Six of us left rainy Oregon and one flew out from Bangor, Maine sometime between late Friday night and early Saturday morning, arriving in San Juan on Saturday. We had reservations at the Hampton Inn, about 10 minutes from the airport and the taxi fare was about $6/pp each way. The hotel was very nice, with a great pool and swim up bar. But the price of $180 was fairly high and a friend stayed at ...
I've cruised before and always expected that as my salary increased my class in cruising would too. So I chose the so called luxury cruise line Caribbean Princess. Big mistake. I found the bathroom in the cabin to be extremely tight. The wait staff in The waiters in the buffet areas had an attitude. I found myself leaving my food and getting some warm ice tea from the limited drink bar. At times I ...
This was my first Princess cruise, so I decided to write a review. I enjoy reading detailed reviews on Cruise Critic and I find them helpful, so I will include as many details as I can remember! My most recent cruise experience was with Celebrity in Sep 2008, so I naturally compared some aspects of this Princess cruise with the Celebrity experience (mostly food and service). My other cruise ...

Arrived airport at 1:30pm, taxi to Sheraton Old San Juan. Dinner at La Barranchina in Old San Juan. Great Sangria, good food and reasonable prices. Hotel very nice, great service but walls a little thin. Grabbed the room on Priceline using all the tips on CC as well as chose the restaurant that way.

Walked around San Juan and ate lunch at Aguaviva ...
I like reading the long reviews so that is what I wrote. Let me preface this review with we had a Great time!
Quick background: We are late 40's, 2nd cruise with Princess (last one 5 years ago on the Golden Southern Route). We don't do a lot of the on board activities (trivia, bridge, photos, etc.). We travel to see the new sites and are just more comfortable booking through Princess for ...
