Baseless Trepidation

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Crown Princess

Greetings from aboard the Crown Princess! We are on a 16-day cruise to Hawaii, RT San Francisco. I boarded the ship with great trepidation. The Cruise Critic comments about the ship and the itinerary caused me to think that perhaps we'd made a grave error in booking this cruise. However, that angst was put to rest the first day. While more traditional (vs. glitzy) in appearance, the ship ...

I sailed with Princess to Alaska in the past and I brought my whole family to experience Alaska with Princess this time. This cruise did not disappoint, and my family was able to see more sea life such as whales, fish jumping, and a truly massive salmon in the wild on this cruise than they had seen before on any vacation. My family is already planning our next princess cruise back to Alaska. ...

Wonderful experience with a couple of minor head-scratchers of concern

This five-day getaway cruise out of and back to San Francisco with stops in San Diego and Ensenada Mexico was to get away alone in order to get some personal work done in the stateroom while also enjoying shipboard activities. The mini-suite stateroom was superb: comfortable, no issues, and spotless upon arrival; everything worked and most impressive were a few small sensor lights that turned on ...

Took Alaskan Cruise in July 2022 on Ruby, had the worst experience. Embarkation was nightmare, had to wait for about 3 hours to board. With COVID epidemic in full swing, this was a traveler's nightmare. Firstly, peak summer, long lines and fellow passengers in close proximity. Took even more than an hour to get to the boat deck from Port. Due to this frustrating experience, promised never to use ...

Great cruise experience. Helped by great weather. Were able to sunbathe for all but the last day. Despite embarcation being at the old pier we found it seamless and worth the effort on the app up front. The app and wifi worked perfectly. Food was superb in the MDR we used the one near vines. Good quality. Perfect portion.sizes and brilliant service. We went to Sabatinis twice. Food and ...

This was my first time to cruise with Princess. I had a good impression about the cruise. The foods were so delicious and plenty of choices. The decorated deserts were so beautiful and of course it tasted so yummy. I really recommend everyone must try a vacation with princess cruise. I do not eat breakfast often but on this cruise I never skipped breakfast. They have so much foods to eat. The ...

Although I had been fishing in Alaska a few times, my wife had never been there, and were were both excited to experience the beauty of this State, while the glaziers are still prominent. Nothing about this trip disappointed us. We were a little concerned about some of the negative comments we read, specifically regarding the condition of the ship, the food quality, and the concern about ...

From beginning to the end it was a wonderful cruise. Good weather the whole trip even though rain was forecast for most locations. You just never know in Alaska.

Joined friends who are also Princess Captains Circle members. Sailing from San Francisco means no flights. The ship was well run and clean. Staff was friendly. Our cabin steward was the best. He knew and remembered our names right away. Medallion Class is a real plus and the staff know who you are and your preferences thru the system. Medallion Net however is sketchy at best. For the first ...

We had so much fun taking Princess North to Alaska again. Star, Grand, now the Ruby has taken us to visit popular ports of call in Alaska. Due to covid our ship was not full. Almost full but not entirely. Sailing 07/22. I am not sure if capacity was limited due to staff availability or simply not enough staff ready to get to full levels. My DW and I are vaccinated (not boosted). We got vaccinated ...
