First and Last Princess Cruise

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Ruby Princess

This was our first cruise with Princess and the first embarking from San Francisco. What a nightmare that was, we were scheduled to leave from the regular Pier 27 but the night before was told we were at Pier 35 which is just an old Pier. We did all check ins ahead of time and were told to arrive at 12 for a 12 to 12:30 assigned time. We got there a bit early only to find out they still hadn't ...

We're Elite with Princess, Club/Reserve Mini Suite Level and sail with them 2-3 times a year and just returned from a 7 day Calif Costal Cruise. I have no problem rating Guest Service at 5 Stars throughout this cruise and our 2 previous cruises in 2022. Despite having access to the Club/Reserve Dinning Room, we've noticed that since the Covid reopening Princess's food quality and variety has ...

This ship needs dry docked

This was an 80s themed cruise and that was very appealing. However, the only thing 80s was the nightly show at 7:30 or 9:00. Very little 80s anything other than some cheap paper signs and inflatable cell phones. Ship is so old. Our balcony was rusted through on the front. The spa was a mess. Lockers were broken and you couldn’t lock them so we were told just stick your belongings in there it ...

Excellent Cruise- the opposite of every negative review I read on this site

This was our first cruise with Princess, and my second cruise ever (the first cruise was with Carnival in 2005). Re traveled aboard the Ruby Princess, to the Pacific Northwest. The ship is extremely seaworthy and very beautiful. I have read a lot of negative reviews prior to the cruise, and wanted to post a different review to ease concerns others reading these reviews may have. My only ...

We have Platinum Elite status and have had many very happy experiences with Princess. We have cruised on the Ruby's 2 sister ships and loved both. This cruise started off very bad. We had priority boarding which took an hour with crowded conditions. Almost no one had masks. Some took 3 1/2 hours to get on board later in the day. The ship had 2800 passengers. Everywhere was crowded and very ...

What a disaster!

Have cruised 4 times with Princess and would rate the first three as 5 star. This cruise was the first cruise with a full ship after resuming sailing. Unfortunately it was staffed for a half capacity cruise. Embarking took many people 2-3 hours. The ship left 1hr 15minutes late because they could not get the people on board. Many people had dining and excursions they had ordered in advance ...

Princess Under Staffed and Unprepared to Manage a Cruise

Princess was totally not ready for this cruise. To begin, there were customers standing outside for 3-1/2 hours in order to get to the check-in area. Once on the ship, there was not enough staff or trained staff to handle the 2,552 passengers. Waiting in line was a daily experience in many areas. Poor execution of excursions - not prepared, not researched and definitely overpriced. ...

First time on Princess was disappointing

Pros: 1. Ship is laid out nice 2. We had a mini suite. The bed was very comfortable and so was our suite. We would have preferred a "private" balcony. Ours did not have a ceiling. 3. Our stateroom attendant did a great job. 4. All the staff was very friendly. 5. Disembarkation went well. 6. Liked being able to order drinks from anywhere (albeit they took some time to get to ...

We have been on Ruby Princess 5 times since the restart of Cruising. The food quality in particular in the Buffet and Main Dining Room have been steadily declining. We were on Discovery Princess and were pleasantly surprised how good the food was. Ruby Princess does not have Hand washing stations installed in the Buffet. Even the Grand Princess have hand washing stations in the buffet. The Crew ...

Many will not like this review. They will say I am negative, can't say anything good and that I am just horrible to write such things about a cruise that "I" experienced. Notice, I said "I". If they were on this cruise they might feel the same. I will start with the good things. The staff was spectacular. They went above and beyond, especially since they were over worked . More ...
