Traveled as a single and loved the Royal Princess

Review for Royal Princess to Europe - Western Mediterranean

Cruising Europe was on my bucket list after 35 plus cruises on 17 different cruise lines to six of the seven continents over the years. Princess had the best itinerary, called the Grand Mediterranean, which was actually two cruises back-to-back for 21 days total. I had cruised Princess before and liked it, but truthfully only chose them due to the itinerary and price. But from now on Princess ...

Our first trip on the Royal, but we cruised three times on the pretty much identical Regal Princess. We did not and do not have a thing to complain about or any regrets about taking this cruise at all!! The ship, and we spent time in 95% of the ships public spaces we always very neat and clean and we always found everything to be in good working order. We booked a deluxe balcony on deck 15, ...

Great Itinerary, Nice Ship

Review for Royal Princess to Europe - Western Mediterranean

Once we decided on the Mediterranean, this itinerary and ship worked well for us. Although I wasn't excited about sailing on such a large ship I knew it would offer more variety of on-board activities, entertainment, shops, eateries and deck areas. The ship was very nice but we both missed the motion of a smaller ship such as Island Princess. It was intimidating for me to try and find my way ...

Could Be Much Better for a Good Brand as Princess

Never saw the entertainment team really, as when onboard we were on top deck and they never done any entertainment that we saw or read in the itinery up there. The band 'atomic' were excellent but only did one sail away on top deck.... the weather sometimes might have influenced why they undertook their sessions indoors though. All the shows in the theatre were excellent, the entertainment ...

Poor Food Quality/Variety was a Sad Surprise

Review for Royal Princess to Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was to be our 5th cruise and our 4th cruise line we've been on, and we were excited, having heard great things about Princess and their high food quality, the more adult crowd, and we liked the layout of the Royal. I like to start out with the Good first, so without a doubt, the staff on this cruise was absolutely THE best we have ever experienced. Everyone we encountered was "genuinely" ...

We boarded the ship easily and was really surprised and pleased our room was ready. Rome, Naples, Sicily, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Corfu, Corsica, Toulon, Barcelona, Toulon, Dlorence, Katakolon, Mykonos, Santorini, Kotor, Naples, Rome. We booked this holiday as a 21 day Mediterranean cruise. When we got on the ship we discovered it was what they call a back to back cruise and we were currently on a ...

Another good cruise on Princess

My wife and I decided to do another Mediterranean cruise and she liked the itinerary and time that this cruise sailed. We arrived I Rome three days early to do some sightseeing and to more importantly, acclimatize ourselves to European time. I highly recommend this, especially of you have never visited the eternal city. Our hotel for this trip was the Crowne Plaza San Pietro. My wife picked this ...

Nice time had by all

I choose this cruise because it had several of the port cities I have especially wanted to see -- Dubrovnik, Rome, Barcelona, Toulon/Provence -- so booked the 10 day portion only of the cruise. Princess is our favorite cruise line and we have sailed almost twenty times with them, they just seem to have the best value for cruises. Only a couple of minor issues but we overcame them. Will the food ...

Cruising on the Royal

We chose this cruise because of the ports and we like cruising with Princess. We liked the ship. There was only one negative about the Royal. We usually like to read and relax at some time during the day and have always done so on deck 7 of previous ships where there is comfortable seating and having windows to look out of. On the Royal, they had the area for seating but all the windows were ...

Nice ship / dining is so-so

Review for Royal Princess to Mediterranean

The ship is fairly new and looks to be in great shape. The staff were fairly attentive. Entertainment was mixed. Music and dance were pretty good, but the comic and magician were so so. We liked the live music in the common areas of the ship. The food was good at Sabatini's restaurant and also at Alfredo's. The pizza by the pool was also great. Embark / dis-embark was really fast. Tenders worked ...
