We chose this cruise because it was going to the British Isles. No problem embarking since we boarded in FR, Le Havre, but apparently there were problems embarking the next day in Southampton.. Our room was quite small which was a disappointment, although it had a balcony. Really could care less about balcony since it was a bit too cool to use it, and made room smaller. Hard to relax in cabin if ...
Very enjoyable time on Regal Princess. Embarkation and disembarkation were smooth, we took the princess transfer from ship to airport on the last day, excellent. It was good to arrive at Copenhagen airport at least 3 hours before your flight time as so many people flying out and long queques at check in, security and immigration.
Very happy with the ship, cleanliness, food, services and the ...
I chose this area particularly to go the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. The other ports were lovely also. Enjoyed the 3 hour drive to Berlin. Was disappointed in the fast food lunch. Would have preferred a sit down meal. That guide had an agenda and has since left the company. Talinn was a charming surprise.
So much to see. I would go again. Not too much walking for an old lady! The ship's ...
This was our 9th Princess cruise and we chose it for the same reason many of our fellow passengers did - St Petersburg. Over the years we have watched the changes in the way Princess operates and I fee that they have gone one step too far on these new ships.
Cabin - we had M509 and it was a good sized balcony just back of mid ships. It was perfectly adaquate for our needs and the cabin steward ...
Okay, in fairness, all ships are designed largely by the cruise line's marketing department, but we felt it shined through a bit more on the Royal than we expected. As noted by others, the Royal lacks a true Promenade deck, so you cannot walk around the entire ship, something we enjoy doing occasionally, especially after dinner. Princess marketing seems to believe that walkers would be just as ...
We booked this cruise to take advantage of a high 0n-board spend offered to us by Princess. We are platinum members of the Captain's Circle and I have to say that this must be one of the best reward schemes available to cruisers.
We used the on-board spend to purchase Princess tours in St Petersburg, making our own arrangements elsewhere. In retrospect, and by listening to other passengers I ...
We booked this cruise purely for the 2 day stop in St Petersburg and I have to say it was amazing and I would thoroughly recommend booking a 2 day tour with ALL TOURS who are in St Petersburg. They are extremely professional and sort out the visas, meet you at the ship and provide an unforgettable experience of this beautiful city. The tour was HALF the price charged by Princess for a 2 day tour ...
Two young senior couples - first cruise with Princess on the Royal, always cruised with P & O in the past.
The décor was lovely in the main areas, loved the Atrium, our balcony cabin mid ships was the same as those on P & O but lacked the tea/coffee making facilities, fortunately we took our own kettle. The main areas always seemed crowded and often couldn't get a seat on sea days probably ...
August/September 2014 Berlin and Royal Princess Cruise: Baltic’s and Transatlantic
Part 1: Berlin and Royal Princess Baltic’s Cruise
8/23-9/2/2014 Pre Cruise time in Berlin
We had a delightful 10 day stay in Berlin before we got on a cruise ship for the Baltic’s and Transatlantic cruise back to NYC. We really enjoyed Berlin and it was probably the highlight of the vacation.
We stayed in Berlin ...
Royal Baltics and Transatlantic 9/2/14-9/27/14
Embarkation
We got on the ship quickly with plenty of time to settle in and explore before muster. The ship was the same as it had been last year when we spent a month on it; large and laid out well but still lacking a full promenade deck outside. We went to trivia and quickly found some partners who were good, although Ken was the star player. We ...
